Vallel to Meghan

A shooting star quickly streaks across the sky and then disappears. The soft sounds of the night can be heard through the open window at Ellesmere. A gentle breeze passes across the house and the curtains flutter softly. The woman sitting at the window is quiet and at first glance might look peaceful. But a more direct gaze or the ability to see past the outward appearance would show a completely different picture.

Meghan sighs softly and glances over at Michelle sleeping in their bed. It had only been 2 days since she felt the woman's presence in her mind, but has felt more like a lifetime. Her heart cries out for the peace and comfort she knows that Michelle can give her, but her mind will not allow anything in. Even the few moments with Abagail were difficult, and it was beginning to show in the baby's general moods. Slowly Meghan turns her gaze back to the world outside the house.

A few hours later she is still in the chair, and is sleeping lightly.

The school is filled with student hurrying to get to a class or just out for the day. Meghan is standing among them and looking somewhat confused. Why did she need to be there? Was she looking for Vallel, or perhaps Tyl? She steps towards the common room doors being careful to avoid running into anyone. Inside she sees Vallel sitting and reading a book. She watches him for a moment wondering if she should interrupt him, not really being sure if she even has anything to say to him. After another moment he looks up at her. She is surprised to find his gaze is uncaring to the point of being cold. Quickly she turns away and finds herself face to face with Sanriel, who giver her very much the same look. He steps around her and moves into the common room. She frowns and goes to look for Tyl. Something seems very wrong. As she gets to Tyl's office she sees the woman come walking out. Meghan begins to speak but Tyl raises her hand before the woman can say a word.

"Do you realize what you have done Meghan Lore," Tyl asks in a stern tone. Meghan shakes her head slowly, but does not speak. Tyl begins again. "You have used your abilities in anger against another person, four other people to be exact. You are no longer welcome at this school, or in this city. You have frightened people, and they no longer wish to have you around them. You must pack your things and leave tonight."

Meghan blinks and shakes her head forcefully. "But I was only defending...." but before she can continue Tyl stops her. "You said yourself that you used your powers in anger. We need nothing more to made our decision." Meghan looks around and notices that they are all standing around her nodding in agreement with Tyl. Vallel, Sanriel, Glossaria, Kevil, Jel, Loria, Temire, Xarroch and even Nach. Meghan shakes her head in disbelief and turns quickly running from the school. As she makes her way through the city towards Ellesmere she has to fight away the people attempting to attack her. Once out of the city and away from everyone she falls to her knees tears pouring down her cheeks. Over and over in her mind she can hear Tyl's words, and she can see the faces of her friends. Her mind starts to pulse and the images and word begin to swirl in a chaotic whirlpool. She can feel herself being pulled down into it, not being able to catch a breath. Everything begins to move faster and she begins to think that she will never be able to breathe again. Then suddenly...

Meghan gasps and quickly comes awake. She looks around and sees that she is still sitting at the window in Ellesmere. She looks over and sees Michelle sleeping soundly. She sits back and takes a few deep breaths, her mind filled with images from her dream. What did it mean? She never thought they would not all understand why she did what she did. Would they be afraid to be around her now? She shakes her head and wipes the back of her hand across her face. As she thought about the faces in the crowd around her she realized that two were missing. Michelle and Jaret. She thinks about Jaret's words to her the other night. That no one could argue that what she did was the right thing. She knew he understood, and Michelle, but what of the others? Would they understand as well? What of Kevil, would he also not want to be around her for fear that her anger might turn on him?

The questions surge through her mind as the dawn emerges. She hears Michelle stir from her sleep and she quickly gets up and goes to their bathroom. Splashing some water on her face she realizes that this is not something she can do on her own. She needs to know that her friends are not going to be afraid of her, but could she go to any of them? She hears Michelle moving around in the other room and realizes that she needs to do something soon. She can not continue to live like this, and she can not ask the other women in the house to either. She will ask Michelle to watch Abagail and she'll go find Jaret. She knows that she needs to apologize to him anyway. Maybe he could talk to the others, make them understand. He has to make them understand.
