* Bienca walks into Dawn and Dusk's flat, carrying a few rolls of parchment, bound together with ribbons. "Well, it was some work, but I got them." She proceeds to spread the floor plans across the table.

* Dawn - who is beginning to look a little rough around the edges, or rougher, anyhow - looks up with a fierce grin. "You're a genius." He shoves his own papers and books out of the way to make space.

<Bienca> Well, I can't read this, so you'd best check and make sure it's right, but my source gave me the correct drawer, and the print *looks* right. I think.

* Jewel looks up from the table where she's been quietly sketching while being babysat (catsat?). She cranes her neck a little to see what's got Dawn all excited.

<Bienca> ::the prison schematic is simple - a U shaped hallway of three floors. The more important the prisoner, the further down inside the prison he is kept. Bastian, of course, is on the third floor.::

<Bienca> My informant - and you owe me a great deal of money ::here she flashes a quick smile at Jewel:: - says that the hallways are patrolled by one guard and three stationed at the entrance.

* Dawn nods enthusiastically as Dusk shoulders him aside so they can look at them. "This is it. This is it. You are a beautiful woman."

* Jewel gets up to look, too. "This is where Angel's being held?" She frowns and mutters to herself. "So much for pulling down the cell wall with a pack mule..."

<Jewel> What about mages? And Tanmim? Does he live in the barracks?

* Dawn rummages in the desk and comes up with a blank piece of paper, on which he swiftly begins drawing a copy of the plans in near-perfect detail. Dusk leans over to look at the small notations on the page, frowning over his mental figures.

<Bienca> There are two mages, stationed here and here ::she points to the map:: I think. And the min - er, the psionic - is only on loan. He's on... special contract from some group called Infinity Corp.. I think.

* Dusk glances at Jewel, one eyebrow raised. {You know this group?}

<Jewel> ::both eyebrows almost disappear into her hairline:: Infinity-- ah! So that's what that symbol was!

* Jewel watches Dusk's fingers carefully, and then shakes her head. "No. Not *yet.*"

<Dawn> ::looks at his annotated map, then at Bienca:: Any of the bunch bribeable?

<Bienca> Apparently this Infamy Corps - whatever it's called - ::she waves one hand:: has some permanent arrangements, like making sure people don't psionically drop by. And other stuff is contracted and paid for separately.

<Jewel> ::scowls at the plans, noting the wall heights-- depths, rather:: We don't need a mole, we need a *mole.*

<Dawn> If one of the mages can be bribed, depth won't matter.

<Jewel> "Other stuff." Hmmm. ::rubs her lip with a finger:: I wonder if they're looking for help...?

<Dusk> ::frowning:: {Too dangerous. You think they won't scan you before letting you go down there?}

<Jewel> ::looking affronted:: But that's ru-- ::sighs:: You're probably right. ::chews her lip:: I could find out if anyone I know knows about them, though...

<Dawn> ::grimaces, then nods to Bienca:: All right. Keep a low profile. ::flashes a quick grin:: Good work getting the maps. We'll make it work.

<Jewel> ::quirks a smile at Bienca:: It's alright. Mace can afford it.

<Bienca> ::rubbing the side of her temple with one finger:: The mages might be easier to subvert, but you talk "mage" better than I do, Dawn.

<Dawn> Well, obviously. ::he considers:: You hear anything about them at all? Ranks, names...?

<Bienca> ::shakes her head:: My informant didn't know. One's name is Jinali, tho. That much he knew for sure. The lizards don't tell much to housekeeping.

<Dawn> Jinali... I've heard that somewhere before. I'll look into it.

<Jewel> ::thinks:: I'll ask Waterdeep what he's willing to tell me about Infinity Corps. And if he doesn't know... ::considers:: I can think of a couple of people who wouldn't tell on me, at least...

<Dusk> {What are you going to say when he asks you why you want to know?}

<Jewel> I'll tell him I saw Tanmim's badge, and want to know if there are psionic lizards, now.

<Bienca> Will he ask? I mean... he is sort of one of us, really. ::Bienca frowns:: Sort of.

<Jewel> I... hope he won't. He's really, really hard to lie to.

<Dusk> {I don't know *what* he'll do. He's unpredictable, and we can't afford to let him know we're at a disadvantage.}

* Dawn seems to have lost track of the conversation. He's staring intently at the grain of the wood in his desk, thinking.

<Jewel> You think he'd try to take us over and get back into the Game full-time, in his child's city? Not bloody likely.

* Bienca raises one hand for quiet, then watches Dawn casually, as if not interested at all in his thought pattern.

<Dusk> {I don't know what he'll do. And neither do you, even if you think you do. I'm not saying we can't-}

<Jewel> Ah! Or I could ask Cwallie! She might know. Half of it's probably her-- ::hushes as Bie raises her hand::

<Dawn> Jinali, Jinali... I know I've- Fuck! ::he looks up with a grin:: Stripes' cousin.

<Jewel> ::looks dubious:: Is that good or bad? Could Stripes be our informant?

<Dawn> ::shakes his head:: Stripes is a fence, just like you, gorgeous. He prefers to stay in the dark, so he doesn't know enough to be the informant.

<Jewel> ::looks surprised:: What's he fence?

<Dawn> ::shakes his head:: Ask Mace, when we get him out, and see if he tells you. Stripes pays a premium because he doesn't want to be too well-known, either.

<Bienca> Top-notch, really. ::she frowns:: Definitely your job, though. He and I... well, we had a thing, several years ago. Bad feelings. I wouldn't let on that you know me well, either.

<Dawn> ::raises an eyebrow at Bienca:: I didn't know you ever ended one of your "things" on bad terms... Anything I should know about?

<Jewel> Oh. Hm. Well... at least I don't feel so bad for not knowing my own competition....

<Bienca> ::shrugs:: I stole something after he sold it... it wasn't entirely an accident.

* Bienca gazes at the floor and when she meets Dawn's eyes, her expression is not particularly forthcoming with more detail.

* Dawn tsks. "Professionalism..." He turns to Dusk. "I haven't turned over any rocks lately to see what will squirm. You?" Dusk shakes his head, and Dawn grins. "Feel like a trip?"

* Dusk nods. {Later. Once it's nice and dark out.} He grins evilly.

* Bienca makes a slight gesture with one hand, tilting her body to conceal her hand movement from Jewel. {Better hurry, too. Dance's set for soon.}

* Jewel lifts her chin. "And since you're not keen on approaching Waterdeep... would you mind if I took tea with an old friend, long as Bie was willing to go with me?"

* Dusk glances at Bienca's face briefly, then looks back at Jewel, showing no sign of having read her message. {What old friend? Don't obfuscate right now. It's too dangerous.}

<Jewel> Prinda, my schoolmate.

* Dusk looks like he's trying to find fault with this, then looks over at Bienca. {You're willing?}

<Bienca> ::shrugs:: I'm willing to try anything once.

<Jewel> ::presses her lips together:: Look, *you* two are the ones out turning rocks over, and it's *you* they're looking for. Just... ::she deflates a little:: I can't do *nothing.*

<Bienca> ::puts one hand on Jewel's shoulder:: We know. But it won't do us any good whatsoever to get *him* back at the cost of *you*.

<Dusk> {Besides, we know the risks, and we've brushed against the law before. Do you know what he'd do to all three of us, if we get you damaged or arrested?}

* Jewel bites her lip to keep it from trembling, and nods, turning her head away to hide the sudden damp brightness of her eyes.

<Bienca> It'll be all right... we're having the information to move soon. He'll be home before you know it. Promise.

<Dawn> Aye.

* Jewel blinks a few times and turns back. "Aye." She gives them back a smile, but it doesn't reach her eyes.

<Bienca> ::peers out the window:: It's getting dark. I should walk you home and get us some food... c'mon.

<Dawn> ::nods:: We need to prepare, anyhow.

<Dawn> Be careful. We'll see you at the flat by midnight.

* Bienca gives Dawn a quick peck on the cheek, then touches his face lightly. "Be careful. We need you two, as well."

* Jewel nods quickly and gathers up her things to follow Bie out.
