* Summer pulls the hood of her cloak higher over her head and steps out from the late afternoon shadows and over to Tarri's flat. She knocks lightly on the door and stand back patiently to wait. <Kevil> ::The curtain at the window twitches, and after a moment, Kevil opens the door. He gives the street a suspicious look, then beckons her inside.:: Mistress Summer? Come in, please... ::No one else is in the flat at the moment. Kevil sits gingerly on the couch, but does not lean back.:: How can I help you? * Summer pushes back the hood of her cloak once she has entered. It's an off white color and it shows off how pale her face looks. She twists her hands together for a moment and takes a breath. "I wanted to talk to you about what I could do to help with Tarri and Loria, and umm," She looks thoughtful a moment and then nods. "And Miss Meghan." <Kevil> ::raises an eyebrow:: I see. And what is it that you can do? <Summer> I have learned a few tricks from Zoya, being able to move around unnoticed and things like that. I was thinking that they might be useful, for me to try and gather information and thing. So we can try and come up with a plan to fight back and save them. <Kevil> You wish to sneak in and gather information. ::he frowns:: Zoya was never very good at stealth. You do realize such a plan carries considerable danger, do you not? <Summer> ::She nods:: Yes I do. Zoya has not been teaching me stealth per se. More that she has been teaching me the tools to aid my own pursuit of teaching myself stealth. <Kevil> ::snorts:: Diya and I and Master Aeryn have already been out to the dry-docks in search of information. It is nearly impossible to even get close to the walls, much less discover anything within them. And we were *caught*, d'va? I am only grateful we were caught as we came home, rather than found loitering near the dry-docks. I shudder to think what they might have done to us if they thought we had been attempting rescue. * Summer frowns and nods. "Perhaps it would be easier for just one person. Someone who can hide easier than three grown men." She looks back to Kevil. <Kevil> It is possible. What do you think to do? <Summer> Well I was thinking I could go at night. Use some of the tricks Zoya taught me to stay invisible and find a place to somehow slip inside. At least make the effort to. I need to try and do something. <Kevil> And what will you do, if you manage to get inside? It is commendable that you wish to help your friends, but in a situation like this, you could harm them if you do not have a precise plan, d'va? <Summer> ::she nods:: Well I was hoping you could help me with that. If I can get inside then I can get an idea of how many there are. What kind of a watch schedule they keep. How big the groups of guards are and where they are stationed around the harbor. Any information we can get is more than we have now I think? <Kevil> We have a little. We counted the guards on top of the walls, and made contact with one of the human mercenaries, who took a bribe to tell us certain information from inside. I hope to milk him of further information later... Had you considered trying to make contact with the hostages? <Summer> Well I did think of it, but then I thought it might be more dangerous if I did try to. I don't want to hurt them. At least if something happens and I do get discovered I am the only one who will get hurt from it. <Kevil> ::nods:: Good. <Summer> I just can't ::She begins to pace around a bit:: I can't sit hiding in the Hall. I want to do something to help, anything. ::She glances back to Kevil:: I thought you would have already tried to do something, and that you would be able to tell me how I could help. <Kevil> I have tried, yes, and had at least partial success, though we paid dearly for it. ::he sighs:: I can not stop you, if you are determined, d'va? I can only caution you... Though our captors are surprisingly civil, for orcs, on the surface, they are *not* gentle or merciful when crossed. ::he eyes her thoughtfully:: How good are you at stealth? <Summer> ::she nods:: I have been practicing, just on my own though, and not where such consequences were involved. ::her face reddens just slightly:: I had been going down to the surrounding dock district at night to see what happens there. Please don't tell Zoya she would kill me if she found out. It's just gets old doing nothing but studying. I can get around there pretty easily without being noticed. But that was of course before people were really looking for me, you know. <Kevil> ::nods thoughtfully:: Have you been before to the Mage's Academy? * Summer shakes her head a bit. "No." <Kevil> It is between here and the docks. We three nearly tripped over it on our sojourn. They have it under heavy guard, and it seems empty - but we saw lights, deep within, d'va? <Kevil> I know a few spells, but I am no true mage. If you care to test your abilities, the academy might be worth a look... I wonder if it is where the orc-mages are residing, or if they are holding mages prisoner there. If Marsember's own mages are held prisoner, you might look for a way to free them. <Kevil> Or, having mage-training yourself, you might discover if the orc-mages can be stopped in some way. If they have stores that could be destroyed, or if the academy's own defenses might be activated and turned inward. * Summer nods looking thoughtful. "I could, although I have never been in there before. It might be difficult to find my way around. Do you know what the inside is like?" <Kevil> Alas, I do not. If Zoya were here... ::he sighs, then shrugs:: But she is not. ::he grins:: If the Academy is as magic-ridden as the Tower, it would be difficult to find your way without a guide in any case, d'va? <Summer> ::she nods and smiles a bit:: True. I suppose I can try. If I get in and get found I can always say i am a student there. <Kevil> ::looks doubtful:: I do not know if they would accept such an excuse, but... ::he shrugs:: I should rather you were not found. Even if they accepted it, they might imprison you there, or set you to working against us, or worse... If you are in danger, if the guards are too much for you, then leave it, d'va? Better that we learn nothing than lose an ally. <Summer> ::She nods:: I will be careful. If I don't think I can get in and out without being noticed I will no try to go in. <Kevil> ::nods:: Good. ::he sighs:: If circumstances were any less dire, I would tell you not to go, to stay out of sight and safe. But as things stand now... ::he runs a hand through his hair and grimaces:: There is no such thing as "safe." Be very careful. Zoya will be angry with me if her student is harmed, d'va? * Summer nods and smiles to Kevil. She moves over to him and reaches to smooth his hair back into place. "Don't worry about me Kevil. I promise to be safe and stay out of sight." She winks at him and kisses his cheek. Then she turns and disappears out the door. * Kevil goes to the window to watch her leave, his eyes worried and hopeful at once. |
