* Sabrina crosses the market, a basket over her arm. She's wearing a deep green dress and her hair is in a braid. She also has a light cloak draped over her arm. There are a few things in the basket, fruits and breads and such. She stops near a flower stall and buys a bunch of bright yellow flowers. She then turns and looks over the market, thinking about where she has to go next.

Genin is looking over the wares in the lexicographer's booth, admiring the soft white vellum. "I'm sorry, I just do not have the coin. Perhaps later?" He says to the man.

<Genin> ::Turning away he begins to walk back towards the Meade Hall::

* Sabrina heads in the direction of one of her favorite lunch places. Her ear catches a familiar voice and she turns, noting Genin as he heads away from the booth. "Genin," she calls to him, and waves.

<Genin> ::Not at all used to anyone calling his name here Genin turns, half expecting to find someone else named Genin answering the summons:: Sabrina! How nice to see you.

<Genin> A beautiful day isn't it?

<Sabrina> ::she nods with a bright smile:: It is. I was just on my way to lunch. Will you join me?

<Genin> Oh. Of course. Thank you! Might we move away from the market though? I'm not fond of the fish smell here.

* Sabrina nods and thinks a moment. "We could go outside the city if you'd like. There are many places along the river that are lovely to eat at."

<Genin> Please lead the way. I've had all my meals at the hall thus far.

<Sabrina> ::she smiles and offers him her arm:: Just one stop to make here and then we can go.

<Genin> Indeed ::Genin takes Sabrina's arm a bit awkwardly, and allows her to lead him.::

* Sabrina leads him to a shop on the edge of the market, She leaves him just outside and heads in. A few moments later she reappears and there is a brown wrapped package in her basket. She smiles to him and leads hi out of the city and towards the river. "So you left the hall rather quickly the other night. Was everything ok?"

<Genin> Hmmm? ::his eyes widen:: It was closing.

<Genin> I would have said goodbye, but you were in conversation

<Sabrina> ::She nods, not pressing:: Well I am never to much in conversation that I can not say goodnight to someone ::Smiles:: Are you enjoying Marsember?

<Genin> Oh yes, the wonders here are beyond imagination.

<Genin> And the people seem to be very....accepting, of all sorts.

<Genin> When you told me you lived above a music shop, I did not know you were a singer yourself. However did you learn such magics?

<Sabrina> ::nods:: Yes they are. Being a port city you have to be to an extent.

<Genin> ::Genin nods and smiles::

<Genin> Aye, but where I am from, I am sorry to say outsiders would not be so welcome

<Sabrina> Humm. The images I always knew how to do. It was not something I learned, I just always knew how. Singing was mostly the same. When I came here to Marsember Kevil became my teacher. My singing is a product of his talent

<Sabrina> ::She looks to him again:: Tell me about your home.

<Genin> ::shrugs:: It's a small place. A tiny kingdom surrounded by wilderness

<Genin> Not much goes on there that would interest such as yourself

<Sabrina> ::she smirks:: And you know me so well that you know what would interest me?

<Genin> ::smiles:: I'm sorry, it is just...it is mundane. As I understand things, it is highly likely that your magics would not work.

<Sabrina> Really? ::She looks curious:: I've never been to a place where I could not sing images.

<Genin> I'm sure it would seem a cold lifeless place to one used to the riches of Marsember.

<Genin> Which is one reason I like it here ::He grins::

<Genin> Have you been here long?

<Sabrina> ::The vast river comes into view and Sabrina points Genin towards a small rise overlooking the river that's covered in new spring grass.:: Umm a little more than two years now. And I agree, it is an amazing place to live.

<Genin> I don't imagine I'll be staying here that long

<Sabrina> Oh? ::She find what looks like a nice soft spot and lays her cloak out so they can sit on it::

<Genin> This IS nice ::Genin settles down next to her::

* Sabrina nods with a smile. "It is lovely." She pulls the wrapped package out and places it between them. As she opens it he can see it's a few pieces of fried chicken. She also removes two large apples from the basket and half a loaf of bread.

<Genin> Ahh, I was wondering what your mystery package might have been

<Genin> what have you done with that chicken?

<Genin> it looks like chicken anyhow. ::smiles::

<Sabrina> It's fried ::she offers him a piece::

<Genin> ::Genin takes the chicken tentatively in one hand. He looks to see how Sabrina eats it, then follows suit.::

* Sabrina takes a piece and takes a bite from it. "Mmm delicious."

<Genin> This is quite good! ::munch munch:: Thank you"

<Genin> It seems you know the regulars at the Meade Hall quite well.

<Genin> They seem a friendly sort.

<Sabrina> ::nods:: Yes I have known most of them ever since I came to Marsember.

<Sabrina> Yes they are very friendly. They look out for one another ::she smiles:: You couldn't have found a more interesting, or diverse group.

<Genin> ::Genin picks up a small rock and throws it towards the river::

* Sabrina pushes an apple towards Genin. "So tell me about yourself Genin."

<Genin> ::nods:: I've found that to be true! It seems the Hall attracts....diversity.

* Sabrina smirks "Yes it has a talent for that."

<Genin> Thanks ::takes the apple:: This ::holds up the fruit:: I recognize. ::smiles::

<Genin> ::munch munch:

<Genin> Me? I'm about as boring Chybisa. ::Genin grins::

<Sabrina> Oh please indulge me ::she takes a bite of her own apple::

<Genin> Except I'm here, aren't I? So I suppose that makes me a bit more interesting!

<Sabrina> ::nods::

<Genin> I'm a cartographer by trade. I make maps.

<Genin> Also something of a historian

* Sabrina listens

<Genin> But that work is sporadic at best.

<Genin> Anyhow...a friend of mine asked me to come here, do a bit exploring, and at some point he's to come fetch me back.

<Genin> So I'm making the most of my time and enjoying what I can of the city and its people.

<Sabrina> How far is your home from here? Chybisa?

<Genin> VERY far indeed. I imagine it can only be reached through magic.

<Sabrina> Ahh, and that is how you got here?

<Genin> ::nods:: My friend sent me..I have not the talent.

<Genin> Chybisa in on another world from this one.

<Genin> ::He studies Sabrina's reaction::

<Sabrina> I see. ::She tosses her apple core away and pulls up her knees, wrapping her arms around them:: SO do you drown anything besides maps, and buildings?

<Genin> Oh yes...I love to draw. All sorts of things. But I only get paid for the maps.

<Sabrina> Have you met Val yet? He owns the Music Box. He likes to draw too, and is very good. I bet you'd like him.

<Genin> Val? No I do not think we have met. He is your friend?

<Sabrina> ::she nods:: Yes. Like a big brother of sorts ::she smiles::

<Genin> You are lucky to have found a new home that welcomes you so.

<Sabrina> Yes ::her voice becomes somewhat distant:: very lucky. ::She blinks and then smiles to him::

<Genin> ::Genin loses his smile and pauses trying to think of something to change the subject::

<Sabrina> So is there anything you like besides drawing and history?

<Genin> Picnics! ::he grins at Sabrina::

<Genin> And fried chicken

* Sabrina laughs and nods "I love picnics"

<Genin> Are you a singer by trade Sabrina? Truly you have the voice for it.

<Sabrina> ::nods:: Yes. I sing a lot in the Market, and I work in the Music Box when I am not doing that.

<Sabrina> I'm still learning though. Eventually I want to be a Master Bard, like Kevil. But that is a long way off.

<Genin> I would think you are farther along than you imagine.

* Sabrina flushes "Thank you."

<Genin> ::smiles::

<Genin> :: Genin lays back on the grass and looks up at the sky:: I do enjoy the spring

* Sabrina glances out towards the river and sighs softly, looking very content. "Yes I think it is my favorite time of year."

<Genin> :: He cranes his neck to look at Sabrina:: You do have seasons here right?

<Sabrina> ::chuckles:: Yes we do.

<Genin> Good

<Sabrina> See it's not so unlike your home is it.

<Genin> The natural world is not so far off it seems, but civilization is quite different.

<Genin> For instance everyone seems allowed to bear all manner of weapons!

<Genin> I don't understand how you folk manage to keep the peace.

<Genin> But that is neither here nor there, the peace is kept, and I am content.

<Sabrina> The Purple Dragons, as far as I understand it. And there often is not peace. But there are laws and they are enforced.

<Genin> ::Genin sits back up:: Sabrina, allow me to thank you again for inviting me out here. You have made me feel welcome indeed.

<Genin> It has been most enjoyable

<Sabrina> You are very welcome. I enjoyed the company as well ::She smiles to him::

<Genin> Do you often come out here?

<Sabrina> ::nods:: Every chance I get.

<Genin> I wonder what other marvels there are out here. I've not really left the city.

<Genin> My friend would not know where to find me

<Sabrina> It's mostly just trees, forest and farms and things like that.

<Genin> Ha! It sounds like Chybisa!

<Sabrina> Well then Chybisa is not dull at all ::She grins::

<Genin> I'm afraid it will be when I return.

<Sabrina> Tell me why you think it is so dull.

<Genin> Pretty women don't take me on picnics in Chybisa. ::he smiles::

<Sabrina> ::She laughs:: I bet the don't sing you pictures either.

<Genin> Indeed they do not

<Genin> No one does.

<Sabrina> Well I will, whenever you like. I don't often get to do it. When I sing in the Market I just sing.

<Genin> Do you ever tire of it? The singing I mean.

<Genin> I know there are times that a particular map can just drain me.

<Genin> I have to remind myself that enjoy this.

<Genin> ::smiles yet again::

<Sabrina> Never. I don't imagine I ever will. It's such a part of me.

<Genin> A great gift indeed.

<Sabrina> You don't like drawing?

<Genin> Oh I do! But there are times that a patron desires a particular map of a particular place that just happens to be exceedingly dull.

<Sabrina> ::nods with a grin:: You are lucky to have been asked to map Marsember then ::She looks thoughtful a moment:: Do you think you would have time to draw a picture for me? I could pay you for it.

<Genin> ::Genin hesitates for a bit, then smiles:: I would be happy to Sabrina, but I only get paid for maps remember?

<Genin> What is it you would wish drawn?

* Sabrina smiles and studies him for a moment before looking off towards the river and gesturing around them "This"

<Genin> "Very good! Though I DO ask for payment..."

<Sabrina> ::nods:: I told you I would pay. How much would you ask?

<Genin> Stand over there for just a moment ::He begins to rummage around in his sack::

* Sabrina nods, looking only slightly confused, and moves to where he indicated.

<Genin> ::Genin pulls out a piece of parchment and some chalk. While staring at Sabrina he makes a few marks on his canvas::

<Genin> Thank you!

* Sabrina smiles and shakes her head a bit "I didn't mean me."

<Genin> This one is for me!

* Sabrina flushes again and glances off to the river. After a moment she tips her face towards the sun and closes her eyes, taking a deep breath.

<Genin> ::Genin takes out another piece of parchment and makes more scribbles::

* Sabrina blinks and looks to Genin. She wanders over behind him and watches as he draws, after a moment sitting just next to him.

<Genin> ::Genin tries to concentrate on his drawing. Unfortunately for him, drawing isn't something he concentrates on, he just does it. Instead his mind is thoroughly wrapped around the proximity of the young woman beside him.:: I'm afraid it won't be quite as vivid as your song-scenes Sabrina. ::He finally manages to say.

<Sabrina> It will be, in your own way ::She smiles at him::

<Genin> ::Genin scratches some more at the parchment the starts to roll up the sheet:: I've gotten enough down I think.

* Sabrina nods and stands, offering him a hand "Shall we head back then?"

<Genin> ::Genin takes the hand and stands:: Ah yes...time waits for no one.

* Sabrina nods and gathers up her things, then heads back towards the city with Genin. "So you never did tell me how much I will owe you for the picture."

<Genin> Oh...the pose...that was my payment in full.

* Sabrina smirks and nods. "Ok then."

<Genin> "I'll have yours ready tomorrow"

<Sabrina> Wow that quickly? Will you show me both when they are finished?

<Genin> ::Genin grins:: Of course. And if you are displeased with it, it shall be destroyed.

<Sabrina> I won't be ::she grins::

<Genin> I hope not.

* Sabrina stops as they near the stairs up to her apartment above the shop. "Thank you for lunch Genin. I had a wonderfully pleasant time." She leans close and brushes a kiss to his cheek.

<Genin> ::Startled Genin leans back just a bit.:: It was the highlight of trip here Sabrina. I'll bring your picture to the Music Shop tomorrow then?

<Sabrina> ::She nods:: Please do. Good afternoon ::She offers a last smile and heads up to her place::

<Genin> Until then...
