* Sabrina steps up to the stairs of the temple and looks up at the door for a moment before entering. She looks around hoping that Tarri will appear. * Sabrina heads down a hallway towards the dorms. She keeps her eyes to the floor as she walks, being careful where she goes. As she enters the dorms she takes a few moments, remembering where Tarri might be and makes her way to the room. <Sabrina> ::she knocks lightly on the door and steps back some, pushing back the hood of her cloak:: <Roommate>: ::A thin red-haired girl opens the door and eyes Sabrina:: Yes? <Sabrina> I'm looking for Tarri Mandeil. <Roommate> Of course you are. ::she turns:: Tarri... Don't these friends of yours know you have *studying* to do? * Sabrina blinks "I can come back.....if she is busy?" * Tarri comes to the door as the red-haired girl retreats. "Of course they do. I'm sure that's why they come." She grins. "Sabrina!" She hugs her friend. * Sabrina smiles and hugs Tarri back warmly. <Tarri> Come on... We'll leave her to her studying. ::she pulls Sabrina back out into the hallway, closing the door behind her:: * Sabrina nods and glances back to the door. "Are you sure I am not interrupting?" <Tarri> Oh, no. She's like that all the time. ::makes a face:: It's a relief to have an excuse to leave, really! ::she leads Sabrina toward the herbal garden near the dorm:: What brings you here? <Sabrina> ::smiles:: It's been a while since I have seen you. I wanted to talk. I miss ::she saddens a bit:: I miss having you around. <Tarri> ::looks a little surprised:: You sound like I've died or something, 'Brina! ::she grins:: See how easy it is to come see me! * Sabrina shakes her head and half smiles. "I know. I'm feeling rather moody today." she hugs Tarri a bit "I needed to see your smile I think." <Tarri> ::smiles again:: Well, that's easy enough... Tell me what's been going on! I feel like a hermit here sometimes! <Sabrina> ::nods:: Well Kevil is off again, I assume you have heard that he and Loria are getting married? <Tarri> ::nods, smiling:: Temire told me! I'm happy for Loria, though I can't imagine why she picked *him*... ::she grins:: No offense to your teacher or anything, and he's been very nice to me, but he's... well.. kind of old. * Sabrina giggles and nods "They are very much in love though. It's nice to see. They are off giving the news to her family. KEvil did not seem very excited about it." she rolls her eyes "The things people do for love" <Tarri> ::laughs:: I've met Loria's family - I wouldn't be too excited if I were him, either... Especially the oldest sister. ::makes a face:: <Tarri> ::grins again:: Did he suspend your lessons while he was gone? Give you a holiday? * Sabrina nods and smiles "And Meghan and Abby are back. It's nice to see them again, although I have not visited very much. I think Meghan wants a little time to just be home before she has lots of visitors." She looks at Tarri and chuckles "Well he didn't give me anything specific, but I know that he is expecting that I study and will surely ask me what new things I have learned upon his return." <Tarri> Slave-driver... ::she giggles:: I'm hoping I'll get a chance to see Meghan and the baby sometime... Maybe if I can break free to come to the 'Hall again soon. ::she sighs:: You really wouldn't *believe* the schedule they have us on! <Tarri> So, what else? How's Ardem settling in? * Sabrina settles onto a bench "I don't know. I have not really seen him since that first week he was here. I hope he is ok, he just seems to have disappeared." <Tarri> Oh... ::looks nonplussed:: Well, maybe he's trying to figure out what happened. You know how *Gloss* gets when she's doing research. * Sabrina nods "I hope that's all it is. I feel a little responsible for him." <Tarri> ::nods:: I'm sure he's fine. So what else is happening? <Sabrina> Well I have been doing my usual music study. I have been meeting with Lisl to lear Uthgardt, and she is teaching me some fighting skills. Working a lot at the shop, and avoiding the square for the time being. <Tarri> ::blinks:: Avoiding the square? Why? And... why Uthgardt? ::she blinks again:: That's from way up north, isn't it? <Sabrina> ::nods:: There is a new patron at the hall, he is from there. His name is Fosst. I was intrigued with the language so Lisl offered to teach me. I have actually spent more time with Fosst learning it that with Lisl, but ::she looks down:: well anyways. some men, priests from what I understand, strongly urged me not to sing in the square , saying that it was against the will of some god or something. <Tarri> ::looks confused:: How can they do that? With Milil's temple just down the road a ways? * Sabrina shakes her head. "I don't know. I had never seen them before. I'm not sure that they are from Marsember. Yesterday someone threw a rock through the window of the Music Box, Fosst and I were the only ones inside. I assume it was the same people, but I do not know. There was a note on the rock. It was meant to scare us I think." <Tarri> ::wide eyes:: What did the note say? <Sabrina> That music was not a respectable business and we should be careful how we conduct ourselves, or certain people would have to take actions against us. <Tarri> Oh, how awful! You reported it to the Purple Dragons right away, I hope! * Sabrina nods. "I went there just after I cleaned up the glass." <Tarri> Oh, good... There are other music shops around, too, and I'd hate to see someone get hurt... You told Vallel too? ::she looks worried:: * Sabrina nods "As soon as I saw him. I have to go check on glass to have the window replaced later today." <Tarri> ::nods, looking worried:: Just... be careful, okay? Keep your eyes open. ::she sighs and shakes her head:: * Sabrina nods. "I'm going to stay out of the square until Kevil comes back. I know he tends to keep an eye out for me, and I'd rather not have anything happen while he is not around to do so." <Tarri> ::nods:: I'm sure he'll know what to do. That's so awful, though! <Sabrina> ::nods:: I never thought that people would object to singing so. ::she sighs softly:: And here I thought I found something that makes me happy and I would not run into conflict with it. <Tarri> ::considers:: Maybe you could sing and take someone with you, to watch out for you? Lisl would probably do it. Or maybe Lord Malkier. * Sabrina nods "Perhaps. I can mention it to Lisl. I do not know Lord Malkier at all, I'm not sure that I would want to bother him with such a thing." <Tarri> ::nods:: I'm sure Lisl would be happy to help, at least until Kevil gets back from Khymrych. <Tarri> ::makes a face:: I wish I'd known they were going so soon; I could have given Loria a letter for my father. * Sabrina nods "I think Kevil waited until the last minute to tell me. Avoiding thinking about the task or something like that." she grins a bit. <Tarri> ::giggles:: Well, really, if you knew Val and Loria's parents... * Sabrina chuckles and nods. "I guess that is one thing that I will not have to worry about putting my future husband through." <Tarri> ::grins and nods:: I guess not... ::grins wider:: Have a candidate in mind for that? Going to run away to the frozen north? ::her eyes twinkle as she teases:: * Sabrina flushes and looks down, twisting her ring around a bit. "Well I don't know about that." <Tarri> ::eyes widen and she leans forward a little:: I thought I was just kidding! Is there something you forgot to mention?? <Sabrina> No no. I just ::she blinks and looks up at Tarri:: I don't know what to think to be honest with you. I have only known him for a few weeks. But I think about him a lot, and I am not sure why. <Tarri> ::laughs:: Oh, all right, I won't tease any more. ::she winks:: For now. <Tarri> But tell me about him, since I haven't met him at all! <Sabrina> ::smiles:: Well, he seems very interested in book, and plants. He and Gloss seemed to enjoy each other a lot ::grins:: He has already been to visit the tower. Other than he has mostly been getting used to speaking common, and correcting my Uthgardt, and getting familiar with Marsember. <Sabrina> He can do psionics too, although he calls them ghost-arts. <Tarri> Oh, really? What does he do? Is he going to join the school with Val and San? <Sabrina> ::shakes her head:: I'm not sure. HE doesn't seem to be very happy that he can, and said that what he can do was bad. FRom what I understand being psionic in the Uthgardt is a bad thing. When he got here he was wearing a ring that prevented him from being able to use his ability. Nach took it off for him. <Tarri> Oh. ::thinks about it:: He must be having to get used to a lot of strange things... Why'd she take it off him, if it was keeping him from doing something he thought was bad? <Sabrina> Well he didn't want it on. I think probably someone put it on him by force and he was not able to take it off. Kinda like those Torcs that Tyl gave everyone to wear just after Abby was born. <Tarri> Oh... ::bites her lip, then shrugs and smiles:: I guess that's another reason to try and make time to come visit the Hall soon! * Sabrina nods "I hope you can. If not I'll have to bring him by here so you can meet him." <Tarri> ::smiles and nods:: That would be nice. ::she grins:: Anything to get me away from my roommate! * Sabrina giggles and nods "She seems very.....stiff" she giggles a bit more. <Tarri> ::nods:: She's very worried about learning everything as fast as she can. ::shakes her head:: Not an ounce of fun in her. * Sabrina pats Tarri's arm "Well I will try and come visit more often then. I've missed having you around, especially recently. I seem to be very moody the past few days." <Tarri> ::looks concerned:: There isn't something wrong, is there? Or is it just those... people trying to keep you from singing? * Sabrina shakes her head a bit "I don't think so. Fosst kinda dropped into my life and surprised me. I'm not sure what to think about him. I just seem to be restless for some reason. Everyone seems to be happy, and have purpose, be needed. I just seem to be floating." <Tarri> ::nods and gives her a quick hug:: I'm sure everything will be fine soon, then... * Sabrina nods and hugs her back. "I hope so." * Tarri smiles, then sighs. "I guess I probably should get back to my lessons, though..." * Sabrina nods and stands "I am glad I was able to tear you away for a few minutes. Promise you will come to the hall soon?" <Tarri> ::smiles and shrugs:: I'll try. They keep changing our schedules, though, so it's all very... ::she shrugs again:: I'll try. * Sabrina nods "Ok" She hugs Tarri quickly again. "I'll let you get back to your studies then." She grins and waves before she hurries off, pulling her hood up as she goes. <Tarri> ::smiles and waves, then turns back toward her room with a faint sigh:: |
