* Sabrina waits just outside the hall for Fosst * Fosst steps out, closing the door quietly behind him. He pulls the cloak a little tighter around him, and leaves the hood off. He nods to Sabrina. "We shall?" * Sabrina nods and heads out towards her apartment. {How was the rest of your week?} * Fosst walks briskly along beside her. {It was much less eventful than yours, I think--I managed to find an excellent apothecary, although I still must find a job. Yours?} * Sabrina smiles and steps a bit closer to him. {Singing, working, and more singing.} <Fosst> {Singing isn't work, then? You seem to enjoy it greatly.} * Sabrina glances sidelong at Fosst. {Yes I do enjoy it greatly. Working is working in the Music Box. The music shop Vallel owns.} * Fosst looks thoughtful. {Really? I don't think I've seen the place, for all my walking yet.} He smiles. {It's a charming name.} <Sabrina> {I'll be sure to let you peek around then, if you would like} <Fosst> {I'd be delighted. I'm no musician, but I've been intrigued lately to find out what kind of music a place like this might make.} * Sabrina nods and steps away from a sound in the alley they pass. She looks tense for a moment and then calms a bit. * Fosst loosens the collar of his cloak slightly. {It's hot out, tonight. --Don't worry, Sabrina. I'm sure no thief would be as brash as to assault two people at once.} * Sabrina shakes her head a bit {I do hope not, and it does not seem hot to me} she smiles up at him. * Fosst smiles slightly. {For you, perhaps not--but I have had hardly a month to adjust to weather that, back in Uthgardt, would be cataclysmically warm. It's also this cloak...} He examines the front briefly. {It's altogether too hot for here at all.} * Sabrina nods and looks up at him again. {Fosst do you mind if I ask you something personal.} * Fosst slows slightly, and pauses. {You may, Sabrina. What is it?} * Sabrina glances up at Fosst, looking thoughtful. {When you first came to the hall, when Nach removed the ring. She said it was places on you to keep you from doing any....} she pauses and watches him closely. {I was just wondering if you can do ghost-arts} * Fosst breathes a little easier. {I don't feel it would be wrong to answer that question before you, who can sing in quite mysterious ways. Yes, Sabrina, I can. Of an unfortunately brutal variety.} * Sabrina nods a bit {I do not think my singing images are of psionics. But I have never had a chance to truly find out.} She looks back to Fosst {Is that why you left your home?} * Fosst replies, {In fair part, yes. There are other details, but my ghost-favor is the main reason.} * Sabrina nods and looks off into the night sky. * Fosst sighs. {I can see, technically, how magic, and--priest-magic, and art-of-ghosts might differ. Even your art-of-voice, you could say. But how different are they, really? It's a strange thought.} * Sabrina smiles {One you might enjoy brining up to Glossaria} * Fosst hmms. {Maybe if I wanted my ears stabbed--pardon the expression. She was very difficult to speak to with much ready patience.} * Sabrina smiles {I think you get used to it. I know that I have. I love talking to her, although I do find it difficult to follow her thinking sometimes. I think she is charming.} * Fosst gestures tentatively with one hand. {I can see how she -may- be, but--like anything, it will take getting used to. The company of the MeadeHall is more colorful than I could have imagined.} * Sabrina smiles and nods {They are all very caring though.} She looks thoughtful. {I would be in a very different place if not for them} She shivers a bit. * Fosst looks to her. {May I ask--} * Fosst shakes his head. {Never mind. Perhaps, another day.} * Sabrina looks up to him, and then nods {Another day} she smiles as they approach the Music Box. * Fosst looks up, and sees the building ahead. {Oh! Is that the Music Box, then? This -is- new.} * Sabrina smiles and leads him into the store. She lights a candle and walks around, pointing out various instruments to him. * Fosst examines a lute curiously, balancing it in his hands as if weighing a blade. {Very interesting--so delicate!} * Fosst chuckles, and sets it down. {If you're supposed to carry it on your back, the natural question would be, "Then where do I stow my shield?"} * Sabrina grins {I think if you had a shield you would perhaps carry it just off your shoulder} * Fosst nods. {True. But if an Uthgardt's fingers are already so rough from the axehandle, it would still be tricky to play.} He looks around, and looks at the other instruments and fixtures of the shop. * Sabrina leads Fosst back to the front of the store and pull some papers from under the counter. {I am working on your song.} she smiles and shows him the papers. * Fosst looks genuinely surprised, and takes the papers in hand. He leafs through them, and smiles. * Fosst says, {Well, I can't quite read the music here, but I can hardly wait to hear it.} He smiles. {Finally, a song that isn't about Uthgardt and the totems--or two hours long.} After looking at them a little more, he returns them to Sabrina. * Sabrina smiles and takes them back. {I hope that you will like it} * Sabrina puts out the candle and leads Fosst out of the store. She locks the door behind her and steps to the stairs that lead to the apartment above the store. {Well this is where i live} * Fosst follows her up the steps. {Aah. Oh!} He lowers his voice. {This being Master Kevil's shop, we oughtn't speak too loudly--if he's sleeping now, I mean to say.} * Sabrina smiles {He doesn't live here. Just I do. And the shop belongs to Vallel} She grins at him. * Fosst briefly looks confused. {But I thought, that--aaah, then Master Kevil is only a patron?} * Fosst nods. {You told me he was instructing you to sing--I assumed too much.} He smiles. * Sabrina nods {At the store, yes. A frequent patron. He also teaches his lessons here} * Sabrina seems confused {He does instruct me. What did you assume?} * Fosst looks sheepish. {I didn't mean to offend, I thought the store was his, in that he taught out of it.} * Sabrina smiles {You didn't offend. He does teach out of the store, but the store belongs to Vallel. It's not all easy to understand.} she laughs lightly. * Fosst nods, and pulls up his hood. {I see. Well--don't let me keep you too long out here, Sabrina, in the--cold, I suppose.} He smiles. {Pleasant dreams.} * Sabrina smiles and nods {Thank you for walking me home. Sleep sweet Fosst} * Fosst replies, {Many thanks.} He nods to her. {Good business in the morning, then--I'll see you later this week!} He leaves down the steps, and vanishes into the streets. * Sabrina turns and opens her door, looking back once to watch Fosst walk away. She smiles softly and then turns back, going into her apartment. |
