* Loria is kneeling near her dresser, taking clothes out and placing them into a trunk. This operation is made much more difficult because Pepper keeps jumping into the trunk and attempting to curl up and sleep on her clothes. * Kevil is sitting cross-legged on the bed, mostly trying to stay out of Loria's way, and carefully folding a pile of things from the wardrobe. He laughs as she shoos Pepper out of the trunk yet again. "Perhaps you should just pack him, n'shava?" <Loria> ::laughs:: I don't think he'd like that very much. ::scoops her cat up and cuddles him. Pepper gets a look of much suffering and rather reluctantly consents to be cuddled for a bit.:: <Kevil> ::grins and picks up a shirt:: No, perhaps not. <Kevil> ::addressing the cat:: Only have patience, my Lord. Your new home will offer much greater diversion... ::he grins at Loria:: Only think - the courtyard must occasionally suffer a plague of BIRDS... <Loria> ::puts the cat down:: Oh, that'll be fun... dead birds on the landing... <Kevil> Only if they are so slow as to be caught. Besides - we will have a housekeeper to keep the landing neat. <Loria> ::poking around in the back of her drawer, she pulls out several sets of hose:: At least you didn't get very much *un*packed before we had to start over... <Kevil> ::nods:: If I had known we would find a place so quickly, I would not have bothered to vacate my rooms at the Dragon's Den. <Loria> ::sticks her tongue out at him:: Wretched man... <Kevil> ::looks surprised:: What? <Loria> I rather *liked* having you move in, even if it was only for a few weeks... ::grins at him:: <Kevil> Ah. ::he returns the smile:: I did not mean I would not have come to stay with you, n'shava - only that I would not have bothered to move *all* my things... <Loria> Well, true enough... although I'm sure the innkeeper was just as happy to continue to take your coin to provide storage for your things. <Kevil> ::nods as he picks up a vest:: I thought it would be months, at least, before we would be prepared to move again. ::shrugs as he puts the vest in a stack:: Ah, well. ::cranes his head to examine the trunk:: Are you nearing completion? <Loria> ::fishes around in the drawer again:: Mostly. ::she pulls the empty drawer out and reaches under the dresser, pulling out a rather dust-covered petticoat:: <Kevil> ::grins, watching her:: Perhaps we should interview for *two* housekeepers... <Loria> ::sticks her tongue out at him again:: <Kevil> ::grins unrepentantly and picks up another shirt:: <Loria> ::standing up with a sigh and several popping joints, she takes the petticoat over to the dustbin and shakes it out:: * Kevil picks up a stack of folded clothes, leans over the edge of the bed, and drops them into the trunk... right on top of a disgruntled Pepper. <Kevil> ::sighs and straightens the stack again as Pepper stalks off:: <Loria> ::stretches:: Poor kitty... <Kevil> ::protesting:: Poor *kitty*? What of poor *Kevil*? My work undone... ::he shakes out a shirt and starts to re-fold it:: <Loria> ::laughing:: Oh.... poooooor Kevil-lin... he is sooooo abused... ::walking over, she pats Kevil rather condescendingly on the head:: * Kevil harrumphs, then grabs Loria's wrist and pulls her closer, wrapping his arms around her waist. "You can do better than that, surely...?" <Loria> ::giggles:: I *could*... <Kevil> ::raises his eyebrows, amused:: ...but? <Loria> ::ducking out of his arms, she picks up the messed up stack and begins refolding them:: But then you wouldn't finish packing... <Kevil> ::grins:: Of course I would! I would merely finish... later. ::he picks up another stack and drops it into the trunk, checking for wayward cats this time:: <Loria> ::leans over to get a shirt to fold:: Work now, play later... <Kevil> ::laughs:: Promise? <Loria> ::kisses his neck:: Well, if nothing else, I'm planning on a nice hot bath when we get to the other house... I'm filthy. <Kevil> ::leers briefly, then begins folding with comic alacrity:: <Loria> ::laughs, shaking her head:: <Kevil> ::grins and slows down somewhat to keep things neat:: <Loria> ::folds a few shirts in silence, smoothing out the collars:: <Kevil> ::glancing up:: How go the wedding plans? Is there any thing I should be doing? <Loria> ::smiling:: I've been trying to think about them a little... ::she bites her lip:: I confess to having an overwhelming desire to scream and get it over with... you could steal me out the window, we'd find a priest and be done in a few moments... ::she laughs:: <Kevil> ::chuckles:: But you *are* a priest, n'shava... I could only steal you away. ::he winks at her:: <Loria> ::laughing:: I can't perform my own marriage service! <Kevil> ::grinning impudently:: Why not? We already have your goddess' blessing on it. <Loria> ::folding another shirt:: Well, I suppose so... I just can't pick between my desire to show off and my desire to be your wife *right now* <Loria> ::thoughtfully:: I keep thinking I'd better hurry, or you're going to evaporate into dreams... <Kevil> ::chuckles:: I am no djinn, n'shava, I assure you. <Loria> ::looking up at him:: No, I daresay not. No genie could have gifted me with happiness, despite granting all my wishes. <Kevil> ::leans over to kiss her, balancing precariously on the edge of the bed:: I gave you nothing that you did not deserve a hundred times over. <Loria> ::kisses him:: Now, get back on the bed before you fall in the trunk and we have to start all over again... <Kevil> ::pushes back onto the bed and picks up a sash, tsking briefly over a frayed edge:: <Loria> ::finishes folding the shirts and checks to make sure there's no feline shaped lumps in the trunk:: There. <Kevil> ::smiles at her:: And next? <Loria> ::looks around at the bedroom, mostly bare except for furniture:: I think that's it. ::dusts her hands off on her dress:: And I'm just as glad. <Kevil> Oh? ::picks up the last of his clothes and carefully puts them into the trunk:: <Loria> ::grinning, she shuts the trunk:: I'm tired. Anything else I find might well get thrown out, just so I don't have to look at it. <Kevil> ::laughs and holds out an arm, inviting her to sit with him on the bed:: <Loria> ::flops onto the bare mattress:: <Kevil> ::grins down at her:: Poor Loria. <Loria> ::kicks him absently in the leg:: I am abused. <Kevil> *You* are abused??? ::looks down at his kicked leg:: <Loria> ::laughing:: It's only a flesh wound... <Kevil> ::melodramatically swoons, flopping next to her:: <Loria> Oh, my... I've kilt him... ::lays her head on his chest:: * Kevil smothers a smirk and pretends to be dead. <Loria> ::considers:: Guess I should go through his pockets for loose change... ::begins rummaging around in his vest pockets, poking at his sides through the fabric:: <Kevil> Ack! ::jumps as she pokes him, then lunges for her sides, tickling her back:: <Loria> ::giggling:: All praise, I've brought the dead back to life... <Kevil> ::laughs:: Wench! ::keeps tickling:: <Loria> ::squeals:: You... meanie <Kevil> ::laughs and collapses back to the mattress:: Mean? *Me*? <Loria> ::pounces on him, poking him in the chest several times:: Yes... you... <Kevil> I am sure I have not the slightest idea what you mean... <Loria> ::laughing, she wraps her arms around him:: Oh... I do love you... even if I do feel like a giant dust elephant... ::wrinkles her nose:: <Kevil> ::laughs and pulls her closer:: Good. Though I think you may be overstating the case of your dust, somewhat... ::he kisses the tip of her nose:: Would you like to go have a bath? <Loria> I would love one... ::kicks the trunk absently:: You might want to move that into the living room with the rest of the trunks. <Kevil> ::releases her and sits up:: As my mistress commands... ::he grins at her, then stands to drag the trunk out of the room:: * Loria weaves through the piles of trunks and boxes stacked haphazardly through the living room. * Kevil picks the trunk up only long enough to stack it on top of another trunk, grunting at the weight. "I am glad we are not moving all these." <Loria> ::nodding:: Me too... but the help should be here in a few hours to move things. It was kind of the factor to provide moving help. <Kevil> ::snorts:: I doubt it was kindness... I suspect him of receiving a percentage of the movers' fee. ::shrugs:: But so long as they do their job, I do not care. ::offers Loria his arm:: Shall we go over and make sure all is in readiness? <Loria> ::nodding:: Let's... ::runs one hand through her somewhat disheveled hair:: * Kevil kisses Loria's disheveled hair before leading her out. * Loria walks out, unbraiding her hair absently, trying to shake some of the dust out of it. <Kevil> Oh, I nearly forgot... ::he fishes in a pouch and comes up with a key, which he offers to Loria:: The factor finally gave me the remainder of the keys. <Loria> ::takes the key hesitantly:: It seems strange to think... really ours? <Kevil> ::grins and nods:: Really ours, n'shava. <Loria> ::holds the key tightly in her hand for a moment, then pulls out her keyband from her waistcoat pocket:: <Kevil> ::grins, watching her:: * Loria pauses for a moment, looking back at her small cottage. She bites her lip a moment, then turns to Kevil. "Let's go home." <Kevil> ::smiles and kisses her forehead before offering his arm again:: A wonderful idea, n'shava. <Loria> ::turning her back on the cottage:: Home... ::she takes Kevil's arm:: <Kevil> ::leans to kiss Loria's hair again:: Home is wherever we are together, n'shava. ::he grins:: But I look forward to our new residence. <Loria> ::walking down the street:: I look forward to Kristo visiting... <Kevil> ::laughs:: Do you? ::grins:: I have wondered if he will bring his friends and come after my head... <Loria> ::shakes her head:: I doubt he's that serious about it. <Loria> He may eventually challenge you to a duel, but I'm rather hoping not. <Kevil> I also hope not. ::grins:: It should go some way to appeasing his brotherly wrath, that I have promised to wed you, yes? <Loria> ::shrugs:: I don't know. I haven't gotten a reply to my letter yet, but I'm used to that. He's a terrible correspondent even under the best of circumstances. <Kevil> ::chuckles:: Did you give him our new address? ::grins wider:: Did you mention that it was *our* address? <Loria> ::nodding:: I did. And mentioned that I'd be most displeased if he didn't stop and call on us. <Kevil> ::chuckles:: Poor Kristo... <Loria> ::looking up at him:: What? <Kevil> ::laughs:: He wishes very earnestly to protect you, and you insist on behaving like an adult rather than a little sister. ::he chuckles again:: <Loria> ::smiling:: Well, I'm not as young as I used to be... <Kevil> ::looks at her very sternly:: One's sisters are *always* too young to be an adequate judge of their suitors... ::he grins:: Brothers know what the suitors are thinking, d'va? <Loria> ::elbowing him in the side:: I'd be disappointed in you if you weren't... <Kevil> ::laughs:: But poor Kristo does not wish to see it. I almost feel sorry for him. <Loria> ::smiling, turning down a street:: No, you don't... <Kevil> ::grins:: Only a little. I had a little sister once, myself... <Loria> ::patting him on the arm:: I know... <Loria> But little sisters would be bored with the sort of men their fathers and brothers would chose for them... * Kevil slides his arm around Loria's waist and hugs her gently. "Va. That does not stop us from wanting to protect them." He shrugs slightly. "Kristo will learn to accept." <Loria> ::stopping in front of their new house:: That he will... ::she looks up at the building:: * Kevil stops with her, looking at her rather than the house. <Loria> ::glancing over at him:: What's on your mind, Kevil-lin? <Kevil> ::grins:: Lin. ::he bows, gesturing up the walk to the door:: Your bath awaits, my Lady. * Loria laughs, skipping up the walk. She unlocks the front door and opens it. <Kevil> ::follows, closing the doors behind him:: * Loria wanders into the kitchen, dropping bits of her clothing on the floor as she goes. <Kevil> ::grins, picking up her clothes as he follows her into the bath:: <Loria> ::tips the basin of hot water into the tub:: There... ::she hands Kevil a pouch:: <Kevil> ::takes the pouch with a bemused look as he drops Loria's dirty clothes into the laundry hamper:: What is this? <Loria> ::stepping into the tub:: For the bath water, silly... <Kevil> ::working at the knots on the pouch:: Why hand it to me, then? Wh- ::stops and laughs a little breathlessly as he opens the pouch:: Ah... * Kevil carefully sets the pouch on a bench, then begins stripping off his own clothes. <Loria> ::rubbing soap into her hair, she ducks under the water and comes up, spluttering slightly:: * Kevil sits on the bench to pull off his boots, watching Loria with a smile. <Loria> ::scrubbing her scalp again:: Sometimes I'm tempted to cut this mess off and go short haired like Tarri... <Kevil> ::looks forlorn:: I like your hair... <Loria> ::smiles at him:: Well, perhaps not... * Kevil smiles, picks up the pouch and crosses to the tub, lowering himself into the hot water with a sigh. <Loria> ::ducking under the water again, she rinses her hair:: * Kevil reaches into the pouch and pulls out a handful of rose petals, scattering them on the surface of the water. <Loria> ::moves closer to him, slicking her wet hair back:: Welcome home, my love... ::leans forward, kissing him:: <Kevil> ::returns the kiss, tossing the pouch onto the floor and sliding his arms around her waist and pulling her close:: <Loria> ::reaching behind her, she scoops a half-bucketful of water and dumps it on Kevil's head.:: <Kevil> ::laughs and sputters slightly:: Wench. <Loria> ::grinning:: Well, now that you're wet... ::she lathers her hands, turning him around and scrubbing his back:: * Kevil chuckles and turns obligingly. <Loria> ::scrubs his back and shoulders, her fingers lightly tracing down his skin:: <Kevil> Hmm... ::shivers slightly:: Nice. <Loria> ::rinsing off the soapsuds:: Here... ::hands him the soap and turns around:: * Kevil ducks down into the water to rinse off, then takes the soap. He carefully washes Loria's back, massaging her neck and shoulders. <Loria> Mmmmm ::leaning back:: You're very sweet... <Kevil> ::smiles and carefully scoops water over her to rinse her off. He picks up a rose petal and shakes off the water, then brushes it lightly down the side of her neck:: <Loria> ::smiling over her shoulder at him:: I have a surprise for you... <Kevil> ::raises an eyebrow:: Have you? <Loria> ::kissing him lightly on the chin, she reaches for a towel and steps out of the bath:: Come here... <Kevil> ::climbs out of the bath and reaches for another towel:: * Loria leaves wet footprints behind her as she leads Kevil through the kitchen to the master bedroom. "Close your eyes." * Kevil eyes Loria with dubious amusement, then closes his eyes. "All right." <Loria> ::opens the door, leading Kevil in. The room is fragrant with the scent of roses:: All right... <Kevil> ::grins as he recognizes the scent:: Can I open my eyes yet? <Loria> ::a much larger bed than the one they left behind at Loria's old cottage is in the middle of the room, surrounded by dozens of roses in vases:: Yes. * Kevil opens his eyes slowly, and stands for a long minute drinking in the sight. * Loria turns down the bed, revealing a set of dark blue silk sheets. "From Alanis... I had them made when we got back..." <Kevil> ::breathlessly, staring:: Loria... <Loria> ::smiling at him:: You like it? You're surprised? * Kevil laughs shortly. "Yes. Yes, I do, I am..." He crosses the room in a few strides and picks Loria up, setting her down again very carefully in the center of the bed. He stretches out beside her and kisses her thoroughly. "Thank you, n'shava." <Loria> ::laughing:: You're most welcome... <Kevil> ::carefully brushes the hair away from her face:: I love you. ::he kisses her again, his fingers lightly stroking her arm:: <Loria> ::laying back on the bed and looking up at him:: Of course you do... ::touches his face lightly:: <Kevil> ::turns his face into her touch, kissing her fingers, then bends to kiss her throat:: <Loria> ::smiling, she twines her fingers in his hair:: There's wine too, near the foot of the bed... <Kevil> Mm. ::he nibbles at the base of her ear:: <Loria> ::leaning her head back, she stretches along the silk sheets:: Very nice actually... Missa suggested it... <Kevil> ::laughs quietly:: Darin's protege, in truth... He would be proud. <Loria> ::pulls one of the roses out of its vase, bringing it to her nose:: So... now I have you, and silk and roses... ::she smiles:: <Kevil> ::smiles and shakes his head:: Silk and roses... Sentimental mouse. ::he pulls another rose from its vase and brushes the petals along Loria's cheek:: Not that I mind. ::he grins at Loria:: So now that you have me, and silk and roses, what will do you do with us all? <Loria> ::smiling, she pulls him down to kiss her:: Lin? <Kevil> ::laughs and kisses her again:: [Fade to black...] |
