* Kevil flourishes the large, heavy key and puts it in the lock. It turns with a quiet *snick* and Kevil opens the door, then steps back to let Loria precede him. <Loria> ::lingers a moment at the threshold, her hand lightly touching the wooden door frame:: Well... ::she hesitates another moment, then steps into the foyer:: <Kevil> ::grins, then pockets the key and follows her in:: You are not having second thoughts already, are you? * Loria walks over to the windows overlooking the Master's Garden. "Oh, no, not at all... it just seems somehow significant... " She reaches into the basket she's carrying and pulls out an apple. With a brief snap, she bites into it, then hands it to Kevil. "Here, Kevil-lin, take your bite overlapping mine." * Kevil joins her at the window and takes the apple with a faint smile. "A tradition?" <Loria> It's for good luck... we'll plant the tree there ::she points to a nice sunny section of the Master's Garden:: It's supposed to bless the home with children. ::she blushes a little:: <Kevil> ::blinks, then smiles widely:: In that case... ::he bites into the apple with relish, then offers it back to her:: * Loria grins up at him, tucking the bitten apple back into her basket. <Loria> We'll plant it before we leave today? <Kevil> ::swallows his bite, then smiles at her:: Certainly. ::he looks around the large room with a grin:: Shall we go see the rest? <Loria> ::nodding, she takes his arm:: It looks so much bigger without the Marquis's furniture in it... <Kevil> ::chuckles:: And we will have to acquire rather a lot more furniture than we currently possess to make it seem full again... ::he grins as they cross into the courtyard at the center of the house:: We also have a tradition, with new houses, but I fear in so large a house it would render us unable to walk. <Loria> ::raises an eyebrow:: Oh? * Loria stops for a moment at the water fountain - currently off - and runs her hand through the still waters, picking out some small wet leaves from the nearby trees. <Kevil> ::grins:: Certainly. The tradition, you see, is to tour the house with one's circle-mates, and in each room... ::he eyes her with an expectant light in his eyes:: <Kevil> ::coughs:: ...share a glass of wine. <Loria> ::blushes furiously:: Kevil-*lin*! <Kevil> ::laughs and wraps his arms around Loria's waist:: Precisely. ::he kisses her neck before releasing her:: <Loria> ::looking at him sternly:: You are incorrigible... <Kevil> ::grins unrepentantly, then turns to look around:: Where would you like to continue the tour, my Lady? <Loria> ::turns around a few times in the atrium, looking at the glassed in area:: How about there? ::she points to the small, mostly unattached building off to the right side:: <Kevil> ::nods and heads for the room she indicates:: * Loria follows after him, ducking her head under the weave of spider plants still hanging in the greenhouse. "I didn't realize he'd leave some of these plants... " She looks around, frowning. "Ha... " She checks some of the pots. "Only the ones that are dying already... charming fellow." <Kevil> ::chuckles:: But he did not charge for the pots! ::he looks at one or two plants:: Some of these may be saved. I have already begun inquiring for a gardener. * Loria pauses for a moment, her face thoughtful as she looks at a huge lilac bush, planted in a very large stone basin. "Maybe he just didn't want to move these? I imagine this would be quite heavy." <Kevil> ::pushes experimentally at the basin, grunting slightly:: Well, I very much doubt he moved a single thing himself, but it *is* very heavy. <Loria> ::smiles, patting the bush fondly:: it's all right. We'll save what we can... ::she wanders into the small house chapel:: <Kevil> ::follows her, softening his tread almost unconsciously:: Did he leave anything behind here? <Loria> ::looks around:: No, it doesn't look like it. ::the small room is plain, almost severe:: * Kevil paces the length of the room, looking around carefully. "It will be a good place for quiet reflection..." He looks up. "I could wish for a window, though." <Loria> ::thoughtfully:: We could put one in... you'd have a lovely view of the stairs... ::she smiles at him:: <Kevil> ::makes a wry face:: Perhaps not. <Loria> ::looking at the room:: Which half do you want? <Kevil> ::looks around again, then shrugs:: It does not matter. You are the priestess. My Lady's Shrine needs only a small corner and enough space for a few cushions. <Loria> ::nodding:: All right... ::she digs around in her basket some, pulling out a small piece of yellow silk and a bottle of water:: Excuse me a moment, love? ::she spreads the cloth on the ground and kneels:: * Kevil nods and quickly slips back through the greenhouse into the courtyard. * Loria removes a tall yellow candle from her basket, lights it with a brief touch and prays quietly, sprinkling the water around her chosen part of the room. A moment later she stands, nodding in satisfaction. * Kevil is sitting on the edge of the fountain when Loria emerges, trailing his fingers in the water. <Loria> ::smiling at him:: That'll do for now... but I promised I'd do it right away. <Kevil> ::looks up with a smile:: I do not mind waiting. ::he grins:: Only a few homes in Alanis have fountains such as this. I feel quite decadent. <Loria> ::laughing:: And you love every moment of it, I imagine... ::her eyes twinkling:: You always seem to enjoy being pampered... <Kevil> ::chuckles and stands to take her hand:: Who does not? <Loria> ::squeezing his hand:: There must be some... I can't imagine who, though... ::leads him through the atrium into the master bedroom:: * Kevil moves around the room slowly, examining the view through the windows from every angle. <Loria> ::looking around:: I think we'll need some more curtains... ::she grins at him:: It's awfully... exposed in here. <Kevil> ::laughs and nods:: At least the bushes around the garden outside are high... <Loria> ::walking into the sewing room:: I think we can convert this over, give you some racks or something, and this will hold at least a good portion of your clothing. ::she winks at him:: <Kevil> ::turns from his contemplation of the garden:: Hmm? ::he follows her into the room and looks around at the space, then laughs:: Well, perhaps we can put the off-season things elsewhere. ::he grins:: <Loria> ::shakes her head:: Maybe Gloss will finish with her closet of holding by then... ::grins:: <Kevil> ::mock-sighs and shakes his head:: <Loria> ::sticks her tongue out at him, then, laughing, runs out of the room and across the hall to the dining room:: * Kevil starts, then grins and chases her. "When I catch you..." * Loria squeals in mock-fright, then dashes across the dining room, stopping by the kitchen door. She pauses a moment to squint up at the crystal chandelier. * Kevil mock-growls and charges her while she's admiring the fixtures. <Loria> ::opens the door to the kitchen and ducks inside:: Amazing... ::she skips around in the kitchen, clearly astonished anew at the sheer size of the room:: * Kevil stops a hair's breadth from running into the dining room wall, then shrugs and walks into the kitchen. He grins at Loria. "What are you doing in here? I thought you wanted to hire someone to cook." <Loria> ::looking into the cold pantry:: Just being astounded. You could fit my old house in this room and rattle it. <Kevil> ::laughs:: I do not think it is quite *that* big... ::he crosses the kitchen to peer into the bathing room:: <Loria> ::entering the bathing room:: Now, here's your decadence... ::she smiles, walking amongst the three tubs set into the floor:: <Kevil> Quite. ::he eyes the largest of the baths, then grins at Loria:: I shall look forward to scrubbing your back, here... * Loria smiles, brushing some hair out of her eyes. <Loria> Come on, let's go look at the music room... * Kevil eyes her appreciatively, then sighs. "Ah, the one thing which might distract me from testing the baths this moment..." He grins and takes her hand. <Loria> ::laughing:: I don't want to wait that long for the water to get warm, my heart... <Kevil> ::chuckles:: I could think of things with which to amuse ourselves while we waited... ::he grins as they walk down the hallway:: <Loria> ::shaking her head:: * Loria opens the door to the dance room, walking in. "I can't decide if I like this wallpaper or not..." <Kevil> ::stops to ponder the wallpaper:: It certainly is not what I would have chosen. <Loria> ::runs one finger lightly over the pattern of apple trees and snakes:: I mean, the apple-tree is nice, but I'm not sure what the snakes are for... ::She shudders absently:: <Kevil> ::ponders the pattern for a moment, then grins, but says nothing:: Perhaps we should just replace it. <Loria> ::shrugs:: Perhaps... ::humming absently, she twirls around the room over to the sliding wall:: * Kevil watches Loria with a smile. * Loria opens the sliding walls into the music room. Curiously, she looks up at the ceiling, then sings a few notes. The harmonics in the room are excellent. * Kevil smiles happily and sings a few phrases himself, closing his eyes to better listen. <Loria> ::nodding critically:: Someone knew what they were doing when they baffled the ceiling like that... <Kevil> ::nods, then opens his eyes and looks around critically:: Go stand on the far end of the ball room. I want to see how the sound carries. * Loria moves to the other side of the room. <Kevil> ::takes a deep breath and sings scales, starting very quietly and slowly growing louder and louder:: * Loria smiles, delighted. <Kevil> ::stops at the end of his breath and eyes Loria across the distance:: Have we a concert hall, n'shava? <Loria> ::nodding:: I believe so... It's quite effective... <Kevil> Wonderful! ::he smiles and begins poking around the room, humming a ballad softly:: <Loria> ::looking around:: I wonder if a pianoforte would be terribly costly... I'd always wanted to learn to play one... <Kevil> ::shrugs:: Expensive, I should think, but not prohibitively so. I prefer an instrument I can carry, though. <Loria> ::giggles:: No, I don't think you can put a pianoforte in your pocket, no. <Kevil> ::grins and strolls over to the tall windows overlooking the spacious porch:: <Loria> I've always been rather fond of the harp Vallel made for me... ::smiles:: We'll have to get it, while we're home. I didn't know if I'd have room for it here, so I left it behind. <Kevil> ::looks around the large room and sputters a laugh:: Room enough, I think. <Loria> ::snickering:: Well, I meant at Khymrych, my heart... it's in my mother's weaving room. <Kevil> I know what you meant. ::he grins and pulls her to him for a brief kiss:: I would like to hear you play it. <Loria> ::nodding:: I used to play for my mother and sisters, while they worked on weaving... <Kevil> I am sure they miss your playing, now. ::he smiles and kisses her again:: <Loria> ::nodding absently:: I couldn't run a loom, you understand... ::she sighs:: Not for very long, at any rate... I still know the basics... ::she shakes her head, dismissing it:: <Kevil> ::shrugs:: Entertaining those doing the weaving seems to me to be just as valuable. ::he smiles at her:: But I am, as you have said frequently, biased. <Loria> ::smiling:: Well, my father's family is famous for the quality of their wool... which may be mostly my mother's doing. Her parents are artisan weavers in Suzail... <Loria> ::crosses the room and goes out into the hallway:: Guest rooms? <Kevil> ::nods:: I think so. ::he opens one door and peers in:: Seems to be some such. <Loria> ::nodding:: All right... ::walks down the hallway towards the stairs:: * Kevil follows, watching her with a smile. <Loria> Well, we do have a whole other floor here... ::grins down at him as she climbs the stairs, hitching her skirt up:: <Kevil> ::grins and leans slightly to leer obviously at her legs:: You go on up, n'shava. I shall be just behind you... <Loria> ::grinning, she heads up the stairs, turning to look at him from the landing:: Are you coming, or are you just admiring the scenery? <Kevil> ::lets his eyes wander slowly up her body, then grins and starts up the stairs:: <Loria> ::putting one hand on her waist, she taps her foot at him, grinning:: You... ::throwing her hands up in mock-exasperation:: Whatever shall I do with you? <Kevil> ::appears to consider the question as he mounts the last few stairs, then grins and swings her into his arms:: I can think of many answers to that question, n'shava... <Loria> ::giggling:: Oaf... let's finish looking at the house first... <Kevil> Are you sure? ::grins:: <Loria> ::kisses him lingeringly:: Mostly sure... <Kevil> ::sighs and sets her down carefully:: If we had any furniture... <Loria> ::moves down the hallway and opens the door to the book room:: Gloss will love this, I imagine... if we ever get anything to put on the shelves... <Kevil> ::laughs:: You are always reading, raindrop - how can we not have anything for the shelves? <Loria> ::opens the shutters to the reading window:: Oh, this is nice... ::glancing at him:: Oh, I only have about a shelf or so of books... Certainly nothing on Gloss's library... <Kevil> ::chuckles:: I believe there is some question as to whether the Mage's Guild library is a rival for the angel's. <Loria> ::laughs, climbing into the window seat:: This is very nice... ::snuggles into the velvet seat cushions:: <Kevil> Hmm. ::eyes the seat:: Is there room for two, do you think? <Loria> ::nodding:: Probably... as long as the occupants are friendly... ::she curls her legs under her:: You could put your head in my lap, I think... just watch the window... <Kevil> ::grins and carefully positions himself on the cushions, then leans back to rest his head in Loria's lap with a contented sigh:: <Loria> ::brushing his hair out of his face:: So... are you happy, my love? <Kevil> Of course, n'shava... Why should I not? ::he reaches up to touch her face:: <Loria> ::kissing his fingers:: Just checking... <Kevil> ::snuggles down comfortably:: Very happy. Are you? <Loria> ::leaning forward, she kisses his forehead:: I've been happy... <Loria> Ever since you first smiled at me... <Kevil> ::takes her hand and kisses her fingers:: I am sorry I hesitated so long, then. You deserve more happiness in your life than you have had. <Loria> ::fiercely:: Well, I have you now.. and that's good enough for me. <Kevil> ::looks up at her seriously for a long moment, then sits up to kiss her:: <Loria> ::snuggling against his chest:: <Kevil> ::holds her close, sighing:: Lori-love... If I thanked the Lady every day for the rest of my life, it would not be gratitude enough for sending me to you. ::kisses her hair and whispers:: I love you. * Loria crawls into Kevil's lap, pulling the window curtain shut. With the other hand, she reaches out and pulls the inside shutters closed, enveloping them in the niche. In the semi-darkness, she leans forward, kissing him lingeringly. "I think I know someone who was wishing for some furniture..." * Kevil laughs quietly, then leans back against the cushions, pulling her on top of him. "Is this furniture?" <Loria> ::shrugging:: Close enough for comfortable, I think... <Kevil> ::pulls her down and kisses her again:: Mm. Yes, I think so. [fade...] |
