* Michelle unlocks the door and announces, "Hall's Open!"

* Michelle returns behind the bar. She's dressed in a white blouse and khaki skirt. A red wool jacket hangs on a peg by the door. Her moon earring is waning towards the new moon.

* Sabrina walks into the hall smiling brightly. She is wearing a dark green dress and has a blue cloak, which she leaves at the door. She has a small box in one hand.

<Michelle> Hello Sabrina, how are you this evening?

* Ilarion wanders into the Hall and sits down at a table, muttering under his breath. He takes a few deep breaths, calms himself down, then looks back in the bag he's carrying and begins muttering all over again.

<Sabrina> Hi Michelle. I am very well thank you. How are you?

* Michelle glances at Ilarion, "Good evening Ilarion. Want something to calm you down?"

* Jaret walks into the Hall, dressed in hunter green jacket and tight breeches over a white ruffled shirt. His rapier hangs at his usual place at his side, and he sweeps a black cloak off his shoulders and sets it on a peg by the door, removing his plumed hat after he does that. "Good evening, Lady Michelle!"

* Sabrina glances back at Ilarion as she slides onto a stool.

* Michelle smiles at Sabrina, "Well enough. Can I get you anything?"

* Sabrina nods and smiles at Michelle "Water please"

* Michelle smiles at Jaret and curtsies, "Good evening Lord Malkier. To what do I owe my sudden elevation?"

* Michelle quickly fills a mug and sets it before Sabrina.

* Sabrina looks over at Jaret and grins, but says nothing. She takes the water and sips it

* Jaret smiles at Michelle. "I'm working on keeping my spirits up. Just a glass of Arabellan Red, if you would?"

* Ilarion glances over at Michelle. "Ah, good evening... and thank you, I'd love a glass of red wine. And an opinion?" He pulls out a small bundle of fabric and lays it on the bar. "What do you think? Blue or green?" The silk is one of those indeterminate colors, not quite blue, not quite green.

* Glossaria wanders in, dressed in her plainest grey gown, the same mournful grey as the sky outside. Rather than her usual book, she carries a small silver mirror case in her hand, and runs a finger over the decorative scrollwork on its cover pensively as she sets it beside her at the bar. "Good evening, all."

<Sabrina> Hello Glossaria.

* Dulcea walks into the Hall. She is wearing a pale blue doublet and royal blue petticoat. She is wrapped in a black velvet cloak lined in grey fox fur.

* Michelle opens a bottle of wine and pours two glasses, leaving one for Jaret and taking the other over to Ilarion, "Do I have to pick one or the other, or can I call it an in between color? And why do you need to know?"

<Michelle> Hello Glossaria, Dulcea. Can I get either of you anything?

<Jaret> Thank you, Michelle. Lady Tir, it's a pleasure to see you again.

* Dulcea shakes off the cold and hangs her cloak by the door before walking over to the bar. "Good evening Michelle."

<Ilarion> ::grumbles:: Because I had it dyed to order and I'm almost positive it's the wrong color.

* Dulcea turns and smiles at Jaret. "Likewise."

* Sabrina sips her water, still holding onto the box she brought in.

<Michelle> Well I really wouldn't call it blue or green. Blue-green, green-blue, aqua, turquoise, those would all be good descriptions, but not blue or green. What's it for?

<Glossaria> ::glances at the bundle of fabric and cocks her head:: Deep aquamarine. ::looks up at Michelle:: I believe I'm to... R? Ah-- rum, please. On the rocks. ::looks sad::

* Sabrina turns towards Gloss just a bit as she places the box on the bartop. "Everything ok Glossaria?"

* Caz enters dressed in simple shirt and breeches, his short cropped red hair and bright blue eyes being a stark contrast to his simple raiment.

<Dulcea> Michelle, might I trouble you for a glass of wine?

* Michelle nods to the stranger, "Good evening and welcome to the Meade Hall. My name is Michelle and I'm the barkeep for the evening. Can I get you anything sir?"

* Ilarion takes another, rather disgusted glance at the fabric before sliding it back into the bag and putting it on the floor. "Well, I'll know better when I get the leather back. If it doesn't match, it doesn't match."

<Jaret> If you don't mind my asking, what did you dye it to match?

* Caz surveys the room, then smiles at Michelle, "A meade would be fine Michelle."

* Sabrina glances to Caz and smiles at him before turning her attention back to Gloss.

* Michelle returns behind the bar, "Arabellan Red acceptable Dulcea?"

<Ilarion> ::looking over at Jaret:: Oh, a pair of riding boots...

<Glossaria> Well... Vallel and I are in good health, my research has been going well, but... I believe I'm feeling... nostalgic? ::frowns:: No. That's a yearning for a remembered time past... ::blinks slowly, thinking::

* Michelle puts some ice in a glass and pours a few fingers of rum into it, "Here you are Glossaria."

<Dulcea> What ever you offer Michelle. I trust your taste on such things.

* Sabrina nods to Gloss and sips her water.

* Michelle fills a glass from the open wine bottle and gives it to Dulcea, then fills a mug and gives it to Caz.

<Glossaria> Thank you, Michelle. ::takes the glass and looks at it, swirling the liquor around the ice and absently watching the diffraction patterns form::

* Dulcea breathes in the smell of the wine then takes a small sip. "Quite acceptable, thank you."

* Caz sips his mug and smiles, "Quite good. Thank you Michelle. My name is Caz Lavalier. I run a jewelry shop over on Bone street. You should stop by. I'm certain I've got something to would match that earring of yours."

* Sabrina pushes the box towards Michelle now that she is back behind the bar.

* Michelle looks at the box, "What is it Sabrina?"

* Sabrina smiles "Happy Midwinter"

* Jaret has a small sip of his wine.

* Michelle smiles at Caz, "I already have several pieces, but I may stop by to see if you have anything that catches my eye Master Caz."

* Michelle smiles at Sabrina as she takes the box, "You shouldn't have Sabrina."

* Jaret picks a stool out near Glossaria. "You seem somewhat melancholy, Glossaria. What's troubling you?"

* Michelle opens the box, revealing a butterfly hair clasp, the wings set with blue and green stones, resulting in an effect that nearly matches Ilarion's silk.

* Sabrina smiles, her eyes sparkling as she watches Michelle.

* Michelle carefully lifts the clasp out of the box, "I can't accept this Sabrina. It must have cost you a fortune."

* Caz smiles as he sees the clasp.

* Sabrina smiles "It will look beautiful on you. You must keep it."

<Glossaria> It... ::smiles a little, without humor:: I believe I'm getting the opportunity to experience tragic irony. ::she swirls the liquid in the glass again:: I'm up to R, in my sequence of alcoholic sampling. I chose rum on the rocks, not only for its pleasant alliteration but because Mistress Tyl'gainia always drinks it... and now that I'm ready to try it, she's no longer here to discuss the experience with me. In fact, she may no longer even *like* rum.

* Michelle pushes the clasp and box back towards Sabrina, "Please Sabrina. You can't possibly afford to give me a gift like this."

* Michelle looks at Sabrina, her eyes sad, "She seemed to be developing a taste for it the last time she was here, but you're right. She's not the person we used to know anymore."

* Sabrina sighs softly and looks down and then back up, pushing the box back towards Michelle. "Please Michelle. I used some of the money that Vallel found to buy midwinter presents. And I didn't have very many people to buy things for." her voice softens a bit "Please keep it."

* Michelle takes Sabrina's hand and looks in her eyes, "Because it means so much to you I will. But if you ever need anything you had better ask."

* Sabrina grins "I promise!"

* Ilarion takes a sip of his wine, looking around the room.

* Dulcea leans casually against the bar and sips her wine, surveying the room.

* Jaret frowns. "I'm sorry, Glossaria. I can see why that bothers you so... perhaps the next time Mistress Tyl comes to the Hall, you could revisit the experience with her?"

* Michelle picks up the clip, gathering her hair and placing the clip in it, "It's too bad I don't have a lover to do this for me."

* Caz smiles at Michelle's comment, then returns to surveying the room.

* Sabrina frowns a bit "Have you not heard from Meghan since she left?"

* Michelle shakes her head, "Not a word."

<Glossaria> ::shakes her head stubbornly:: She *is* the person we used to know. She is *still* Tyl. Only her personality has altered. ::sighs:: And I wish I could, Lord Malkier, but... she's gone.

* Sabrina nods and takes her glass, taking a drink. She looks back up at Michelle "I am sorry"

<Jaret> Gone? What do you mean gone?

* Tarri enters, the hood of her grey wool cloak pulled up around her face. She looks around with a warm smile, then heads to the fire, extending her hands to its warmth.

* Michelle shakes her head at Gloss' comment, "She's not the same person Glossaria. Memories are a very fundamental part of what people are. She's still a person worthy of love and friendship, but she's not the person we knew."

* Ilarion stands up as Tarri walks in. He smiles at her. "Miss Mandeil! How lovely to see you again!"

* Michelle shakes her head at Sabrina, "It's alright Sabrina."

* Sabrina looks over her shoulder and gasps seeing Tarri. She runs over and almost knocks her over as she hugs her.

* Michelle smiles at Tarri's entrance, "Welcome back Tarri. Did they force you to the altar the moment you walked in the door?"

<Tarri> ::turns to smile at Ilarion, and laughs as she returns Sabrina's hug:: Well, I don't have to ask if I was missed! ::she laughs again:: How is everyone?

<Glossaria> She left to... to follow her own road. She said she felt out of place here. She promised that she would write me, and that she might visit again sometime, but... well, not that I doubt her veracity, but... I... I... ::frowns in thought:: I think I *miss* her.

* Tarri pulls off her cloak, revealing a half-healed scrape high on one cheek.

* Michelle nods and pats Gloss' hand, "We all will Glossaria. Unfortunately it's part of life. I can't remember if you ever met her, but most of us still miss Maeli and probably always will."

<Sabrina> ::to Tarri:: You have to promise to come and have a nice long ::she frowns a bit seeing Tarri's cheek:: chat. Are you ok?

<Glossaria> ::smiles a little, lifting her glass in a toast:: Welcome back, Tarri. How was your visit? Did you get along well with Sanriel's parents and friends? Where is San? How did you hurt yourself? ::blushes a little:: I'm doing it again, aren't I?

* Caz smiles, surveying the new arrival and her greeting.

<Glossaria> [cut the second "little" please]

<Tarri> ::touches her cheek briefly:: This? It's nothing. I was running and tripped... ::she smiles at Sabrina:: I'm hoping you'll let me stay with you another couple of days until I can get properly enrolled at the Temple.

* Jaret comfortingly touches Glossaria's shoulder. "If she said she would, hopefully she'll write. And then you'll get to experience the joy that is correspondence."

* Ilarion grins, a sort of cynically amused expression as he watches the girls descend upon Tarri. He raises his glass to her in a mock salute, but sits back down, recognizing his inability to talk faster than three girls all at once.

* Sabrina nods and hugs Tarri again "I was hoping you would want to stay for a little bit."

* Michelle smiles at Ilarion, "Probably a good thing Temire didn't stop by this evening."

* Dulcea walks past Caz on the way to the table. Smiling she quietly says to him, "You might do better if you spoke to someone sir. Rather than just watching." She continues to a table and takes a seat.

<Tarri> ::crosses the room to hug Glossaria:: Sanriel's parents were *very* nice. ::she grins:: Just like him, really. His dad is going to make the wedding dress, if we can get him fabric in time. San's at school; he said he had a lot of catching up to do, and we missed the first few days of the term...

<Glossaria> ::smiles at Jaret:: Oh! I like corresponding a great deal. I have twenty-seven "pen pals" already. ::smiles brightly:: Well, I suppose some of them would be better termed business correspondents, but still...

* Caz smiles and picks up his mug, walking over to Dulcea's table, "May I join you m'lady?"

<Dulcea> Well, I didn't reserve the table for one. So I suppose so.

* Tarri turns to hug Ilarion as well. "How was your Midwinter? How's Ilya? Have you heard from Temire?"

<Glossaria> ::hugs Tarri back:: I'm glad you had a better experience than *my* first meeting with my future in-laws.

<Jaret> Twenty-seven... you must go through quills like a carpenter goes through nails.

* Caz smiles at sits at the table, "I'm afraid I missed your name m'lady. I'm Caz Lavalier, master jeweler."

<Tarri> ::grins at Gloss:: I confess - I cheated a little... I bribed them by taking along a chocolate-strawberry cake.

* Sabrina slides back onto her stool and finishes her glass of water

<Michelle> Would you like another Sabrina?

<Glossaria> ::grins:: And I'm certain San's village doesn't have a Tommy-tail.

<Ilarion> ::smiles, giving Tarri a rather chaste peck on the cheek, just below her scrape:: My midwinter was quite lovely, thank you. Ilya's fine, if a bit pestersome about this learning to ride a horse thing. And Mira's back and well, which I think you knew. Well, she's not mad at me anymore - I think not, unless I've done something stupid again.

* Sabrina nods "Yes please"

* Jaret picks up his wine, has a sip, and watches the chattering.

* Dulcea smiles at Caz "Dulcea Tir" ::nodding:: "Or Lady Dulcea if you prefer."

* Michelle smiles at Ilarion, "If you're not sure then you should probably take her some flowers or something. If you're in trouble it might get you out, and if you're not it can only get you more in her good graces."

<Glossaria> ::grins at Jaret, considerably cheered:: Not quite. But then, I've had an advantage-- the gnomes downstairs made me a metal quill.

<Tarri> ::makes an exaggerated face to Gloss at the mention of Tommy::

* Michelle refills Sabrina's mug and sets it back down on the bar for her.

<Tarri> ::to Michelle and Roni:: Or else it will make her certain that he's done something she *ought* to know about.

<Sabrina> Thank you

* Ilarion smiles, a bit resignedly. "That's all right. I'm not sure I'd know what to do if she stopped being mad at me."

* Caz smiles at Dulcea, "Lady Dulcea then. You will have to forgive me for not introducing myself sooner. I appear to have spent my time in the darkest parts of this city to not have encountered you before this."

* Dulcea laughs slightly. "Or perhaps you simply were not paying attention."

* Sabrina sips her water and leans back against the bar, looking around the room.

* Caz smiles and shakes his head, "A man would have to be blind to not notice you Lady Dulcea."

<Glossaria> ::creasing her forehead in a worried frown as she looks from Ilarion to Tarri and back:: Temire is mad at him? What did he do?

* Michelle giggles at Gloss' question.

* Dulcea rolls her eyes a bit. "Please sir, I'm sure that you have more original lines than that at your disposal."

* Caz smiles, "True enough, but some of the old standards are very nice."

<Ilarion> ::laughs:: Well, I'm not sure she's mad at me at this very moment...

* Dulcea smiles. "A joke sir...A joke."

* Dulcea smiles. "I was not truly criticizing."

* Caz smiles, "Ah, but one of such beauty deserves praises that have not been heard in ever barroom in the kingdom."

<Glossaria> Hmmm. ::frowns a little:: Temire didn't strike me as the sort of person who would conform strongly to a sexual stereotype. Odd.

* Ilarion glances over at Caz and Dulcea, raising his eyebrows in a mildly amused expression.

* Sabrina looks over to Caz and Dulcea and smiles to herself.

* Michelle shakes her head, "Temire is very much her own person Glossaria...Even when she's acting like everyone else."

* Tarri turns to Michelle. "Could I have some mulled cider, please?"

<Glossaria> But if she-- ::stops with her mouth open, thinking, and closes it again after a moment:: I... think I understood that.

* Dulcea smirks a bit. "But sir, as for myself I avoid being found in every barroom in the kingdom. So your words should not be taken as plain but well meant."

* Michelle fills a mug from a steaming tap, then sets it on the bar for Tarri.

<Tarri> Thank you! ::she picks up the mug and warms her hands around it before taking a sip and sighing::

* Sabrina turns to Tarri with a grin "So did they love you?"

<Glossaria> ::smiles at Sabrina:: You doubted?

* Caz smiles and sips his meade, "Well meant indeed, and well met. I can honestly say that meeting you has been the high point of my day...so far."

* Sabrina chuckles "Not for a moment. But it seemed a good question to start with."

<Tarri> ::laughs, flushing faintly:: Well... Yes. Jenna's so sweet!

<Dulcea> ::nodding at Caz:: That is not uncommon sir.

<Sabrina> And are they as sweet as San is?

* Jaret smiles as he sips his wine.

<Tarri> ::giggles and nods:: It's easy to see where he gets it from.

<Dulcea> So what brings you here this evening?

* Sabrina grins "I can't wait to meet them. They are going to come out for the wedding?"

<Glossaria> ::puts her hand on Tarri's arm, and jiggles it a little:: When *is* the wedding?

* Caz chuckles, "Fair enough Lady Dulcea. As for coming her tonight. I had heard interesting tales of the establishment from my apprentice and thought I would visit the establishment myself."

<Tarri> ::nods to Sabrina's question:: If we can get someone to bring them, but I don't think it'll be too much of a problem.

<Tarri> ::to Gloss, grinning:: San's dad kept pestering me about that, too. We *still* haven't set a date.

* Michelle raises a hand, "I'll do it if no one else will Tarri."

<Dulcea> Oh indeed, and who might your apprentice be?

* Sabrina laughs at Michelle.

<Tarri> ::grins at Michelle:: See?

<Glossaria> ::chuckles:: I imagine finding a priest will *not* be a problem.

<Tarri> No, I wouldn't think so... Though I thought I might... ask Lady Nacheyla to do it.

* Sabrina nods "Good idea"

<Caz> Catreenia Suchart.

<Ilarion> ::grins at Tarri:: Better make sure you're really in love, then... I can't really see getting out of the wedding where your goddess performs the ceremony.

* Michelle giggles, "Nacheyla would love it...Though she might ask that you wait until her pregnancy is over."

<Glossaria> ::claps her hands together:: Oh, that would be perfect!

<Tarri> ::grins and nods in response to all comments::

<Caz> So how did you find this establishment Lady Dulcea?

* Ilarion glances over at Caz, his eyes narrowing slightly.

<Dulcea> Oh, I was under the impression that she attended the school in town. How odd of her to seek two vocations. So have you found the establishment a match for your expectations.

<Glossaria> How has Lady Nacheyla been, Michelle? You're staying with her, aren't you? Are her, ah, cravings any better?

* Dulcea winks at Caz. "I do hope she has not told to many tales of us."

* Caz nods, "She does study her psionic talents at the local academy, but her parents are jewelers and so she seeks to learn the family trade as well."

<Dulcea> I simple came in one night after I moved here. There is little of interest there.

<Dulcea> And what did she say of the place? I am a curious sort after all.

* Caz looks around the Hall before his eyes settle on Dulcea once more, "As for the establishment, I find it both less exciting, and far more beautiful than she had lead me to believe."

* Michelle sighs, "I'm afraid not. I suspect that and the sickness are going to last throughout the pregnancy."

<Dulcea> Truly, you are one for fine words. ::Dulcea looks toward the bar before returning to the conversation:: And what led you to believe it to be a place of excitement?

<Glossaria> ::looking worried:: She *still* has morning sickness? Oh, dear. That's... unusual, as I understand.

* Caz smiles at Dulcea, "She didn't go into much detail, but she was too terrified to ever return, which says something in and of itself."

<Dulcea> Did we do something to offend her sensibilities? If so I feel I should apologize to her.

* Michelle nods, "Very unusual."

<Glossaria> Well... she *has* been a mother before. Frequently.

* Caz shakes his head, "She hasn't learned to control her talents yet. She saw something that happened here once."

<Dulcea> So have you come here to discover what she saw? Or simply to meet the local color?

* Caz smiles, "The local color. I try not to concern myself with the past unless it has some bearing on the present."

* Tarri takes another sip of her cider, then smiles at her friends:: So what's been happening while I was gone? You'll have to get me all caught up!

<Ilarion> ::shakes his head:: Nothing good, really. Lady Tyl left several pieces of paper all over the place saying "I quit, leave me alone" and has since disappeared.

<Dulcea> And what do you seek in your present?

<Tarri> Oh... ::she sighs sadly:: Poor Mistress Tyl...

<Glossaria> ::a hint of her earlier sadness returns:: She left. She didn't feel like she fit here. ::looks at Ilarion:: Is Master Bluestar the permanent headmaster, then?

<Tarri> ::glances at Glossaria and grins faintly:: Lord Bluestar is the headmaster now? Poor Sanriel...

* Caz smiles, "Fun and excitement. Life's far too short to not enjoy it while you can."

<Ilarion> ::coughs:: No... just until he can find someone else to dump it on.

* Dulcea smiles. "There are others here that might agree with that sentiment."

* Sabrina softly "Perhaps she will return." she glances at the faces around her.

<Glossaria> ::blinks:: I'm sure he would be very fair with his students. Well... mostly. I suppose a table no longer qualifies as a student...

<Tarri> ::grins at Ilarion:: You hope, anyway... Aren't you almost done?

<Glossaria> ::nods at Sabrina:: She said she'd come back to visit, but... it didn't sound like she meant "Soon."

<Ilarion> ::brushes his nails on his doublet:: Probably next year, I'll graduate... unless I blow my finals this spring.

* Sabrina nods "Perhaps she just needs some time." She looks down into her water and mumbles "Seems to be going around"

* Caz smiles, "I certainly hope so. People who enjoy life tend to bring joy to all the lives around them."

<Glossaria> ::cocks her head:: Are you likely to "blow your finals," Master Quilisian?

<Michelle> ::Tarri's mug wanders over to her and taps her to get her attention::

<Ilarion> ::laughs:: Dupre keeps threatening to tell me...

<Tarri> ::looks down at her mug and picks it up again, smiling::

<Glossaria> Dupre... ::frowns a moment:: Oh! ::smiles:; Of course. Precognitive teacher, correct?

* Sabrina glances down at Tarri's mug and smiles

<Dulcea> Then sir, I would hate to keep you from an opportunity to fill your life with such interesting people. I should not hold you here to myself. You should meet others. ::With that Dulcea stands, nods, and walks over to where Jaret is standing at the bar.::

* Caz smiles and shakes his head, leaning back in his chair and looking around the room once more.

<Ilarion> ::nodding:: That's him...

* Jaret looks up from watching the youngsters conversations. "Good evening, Lady."

<Dulcea> And a good evening to you sir.

* Sabrina places her glass on the bar and slides off her stool "Excuse me," she smiles at the group around her and walks over to where Caz is sitting. "Hello Master Lavalier"

<Dulcea> I have not seen you about in quite some time. Have you been well?

<Jaret> I have been... out of town, and strenuously occupied with personal matters. They've kept me from making the usual social rounds.

* Caz smiles, "Have a seat Sabrina. So did the other gifts I made for you go over as well?"

* Sabrina smiles "Well I have not given them out yet. But I am sure they will."

* Sabrina sits down across from Caz

* Dulcea looks slightly concerned. "I do hope that the personal matters are not bothersome."

<Sabrina> Did you have a pleasant MIdwinter?

* Caz smiles and sips his meade, "It was quite enjoyable. And yourself?"

* Michelle shakes her head and begins wiping the bar down.

* Ilarion looks over at Tarri and finishes off his glass of wine. "So, what happened to your cheek?"

<Glossaria> ::blinks as her untouched rum glass, ice half-melted, tugs forlornly on her sleeve:: Oh! My apologies. ::picks up the glass and takes a cautious sip:: Hm... sweet... ::pounds her chest:: And *strong*. ::eyes the glass dubiously and sets it down again with a somewhat guilty glance at Ilarion::

<Sabrina> It was quiet. Nice I guess. I gave myself a short break from practice, and did a lot of reading.

<Jaret> Bothersome isn't quite correct. I've simply just got quite a bit to do, and I feel like I'm running out of time to do it in. And the consequences for tardiness are extraordinary.

<Tarri> ::fingers the scrape on her cheek:: I was running... not paying attention to where I was going, and I tripped and fell.

* Caz nods, "Reading is a good past time, so long as you don't let it keep you indoors all the time. If you don't get out and enjoy the world occasionally you turn into a grumpy old troll."

<Ilarion> Ow... ::looks at her::

* Dulcea looks at Jaret with curiosity in her eyes. "Well, I will not pry then. But if there is anything I can do to assist you, you have but to ask. We are still friends after all. Or at least I believed us to be."

* Glossaria glances over and frowns at Caz's back.

<Tarri> ::nods and half-smiles:: Well, it might have been much worse.

<Michelle> Tarri, do you want me to heal that. I normally don't bother with scrapes, but a girl's face is her fortune.

* Sabrina chuckles and nods "I am afraid I am not very used to the winter. But I get out as much as I can."

<Tarri> ::laughs:: No, that's okay. It's healing pretty fast - it should be gone in another week or so.

* Ilarion shakes his head, snickering.

<Tarri> ::eyes Ilarion suspiciously:: What are you laughing at?

<Jaret> Of course we're friends, Dulcea. If I think of a way you can aid me, I'll be certain to ask. At the moment, though, I'm devising legal stratagems and such, and I didn't assume you had much experience in such matters. I apologize in advance if I was mistaken.

<Glossaria> ::turning back to Tarri:: What were you running from? ::looking at Michelle:: And what, precisely, does that saying mean? The human body contains only trace amounts of precious minerals, you know. It's primarily water.

<Tarri> ::glances at Glossaria a little uneasily:: Orcs.

* Dulcea smiles slyly. "The law and I have had a passing relationship here and there."

<Ilarion> ::shakes his head again:: Never you min... ORCS?? Where?

* Michelle laughs, "I'll explain some other time Glossaria. Do you want to stop by Ellesmere for your explanation, or should I stop by the Tower?"

<Glossaria> Orcs? ::looks interested:: Were they trying to eat you?

<Glossaria> ::thinks:: I'll come by Ellesmere. I've not visited Mistress Nacheyla lately.

* Michelle smiles, "I'll try to have a tasty snack waiting for you."

* Jaret shakes his head. "This is more than a passing relationship. I think we'll be too well acquainted by the time this is all said and done than I'd prefer."

<Tarri> Just outside Sanriel's village... ::she takes a deep breath:: We were out walking, and suddenly one of San's friends who's in the militia there ran up to us and told us to get back to the village because there was a party of orcs. We ran, and I tripped and fell. ::she shrugs uneasily:: I didn't even see them, though I did help sew up a couple of the militia who were hurt in the fight.

* Caz shakes his head, "You should get one of your friends to help you find a proper winter wardrobe then. Most climates are acceptable if one knows how to dress for them."

<Glossaria> ::smiles back at Michelle:: As long as Xarroch didn't fetch it. My digestive system isn't *that* strong.

* Sabrina nods "That's a good idea. Maybe I will see if Tarri would like to go shopping with me."

* Michelle giggles, "I'll see what I can find in the market."

<Dulcea> Well, I am sorry to hear you are having such troubles. But I am also relieved to hear that you have not been avoiding me as I had feared. I was distressed at the idea of losing the company of the best dance partner in the city.

<Glossaria> ::Looking back at Tarri:: Ah, well. So nothing first-hand... But do you know what happened to them? Was there a melee?

* Ilarion looks over at Michelle briefly. "Mind if I come over and wall-scale tonight? I think Mira's missing the adventure of pretending you don't know I'm sneaking around."

* Jaret grins. "The compliment is well appreciated. No, I haven't been avoiding you. I've simply been.... occupied."

* Sabrina fingers the silver ring on her hand "So I meant to say thank you again. FOr all your help in my gift shopping and everything" she smiles

<Tarri> ::nods:: A squad of the militia stood them off and turned them away from the village. ::she sighs:: Sanriel was with them. He might be willing to tell you about it.

* Michelle giggles and shakes her head, "You don't need Nacheyla or I's permission Ilarion, just Temire's...Unless I have to ground her again, which I rather hope won't happen."

* Dulcea nods graciously. "I understand. Legal dealing can be a great trouble to the mind. But no matter the importance, you should not allow them to consume you to such a point that you good humor fails you. You should try to stay somewhat social."

<Ilarion> ::bows slightly:: Well, it is partially your house... ::grins:: If I knock the trellis down, I'm almost positive you'll make me fix it.

* Caz smiles, "You're welcome Sabrina. Feel free to stop by the shop any time."

<Glossaria> Ooh! A witness! Yes, I'll have to speak with him. ::she sighs:: So many of the accounts I read are third- or even fourth-hand. ::shakes her head:: Highly unreliable. ::brightly:: San is an excellent observer.

<Glossaria> ::a little belatedly:: He wasn't injured, was he?

* Sabrina nods "Thank you. I will be sure to if the need arises again"

* Michelle giggles, "Or make Temire fix it. After all, she's the one enjoying the visits."

* Dulcea smiles broadly. "It is in your nature after all."

<Jaret> My good humor, I'm glad to say, remains intact. My patience with certain aspects of the city, however, is being put under a bit of a strain. I will, of course, strive on, persevere, and succeed. It's just a matter of time.

<Tarri> ::shakes her head:: They had him in the rear, shooting. But he was pretty shaken. There haven't been orcs or goblins in that area for a long time... and some of his friends *were* hurt. ::she eyes Glossaria briefly:: Try to accept it gracefully if he doesn't want to talk about it yet, okay, Gloss? It upset him some; he might not be ready to talk just yet.

* Dulcea nods. "I still think that you look as though you could use a good deal of cheering up."

* Jaret smiles. "I do, do I? And what would you recommend?"

<Glossaria> ::bites her lip, and nods:: Yes, I'm sorry. Perhaps... would you be willing to tell me when he might be willing to be interviewed? I'm... I know I'm not very good with... being understanding. *You* know. ::makes a face:: Like with sex.

<Dulcea> ::Smiling broadly:: I would recommend and evening of dancing and mirth to remove your mind from the troubles you currently face.

* Michelle shakes her head, "You'll learn in time Glossaria. You're learning now by asking Tarri and realizing you can't trust your own judgement on the matter at the moment. Just give it time and remember that we're your friends and understand."

* Ilarion picks up his package. "Well, if I'm scaling walls tonight, I'd better go drop this off first... and think of something to do once I've climbed up..."

<Tarri> ::grins faintly:: Why don't I talk to him about it, and ask him when he feels up to it to stop by and tell you about it.

* Jaret bows slightly. "I fear I will have to tender my regrets for that. I am tired from the day, and would not be able to perform to usual standards. I wouldn't want to return to the dance houses and disappoint all those who know me only through whispered stories, told in the dark corners."

<Jaret> Or, especially, those with whom I have dazzled rooms of onlookers with.

<Dulcea> Ah, I see your point. But sir, this idea was not for my benefit but for yours. You need to get out and take your mind off the troubles of the day.

* Michelle tilts her head for a moment, "Last call folks."

<Dulcea> Your dancing skills are of less concern to me now than your mood is.

<Glossaria> ::nods:: That would be fine, Tarri. ::looks at Michelle earnestly:: Well, I know that many of you are my friends. But I don't think you *always* understand. I'd prefer to offer as few opportunities for misunderstanding as possible. After all, I *am* a librarian.

* Sabrina stands and nods to Caz "Well it was very nice to see you Master Lavalier. I hope to see you again soon"

* Ilarion drops a few coins on the bartop and gets his package, glowering briefly at the silk again. "Good night all."

<Jaret> You are too kind, to make your needs secondary to my own. But I plead mercy, for while it might raise my mood, my body is in no shape to carry on for hours more, as enjoyable as I might find it.

<Glossaria> Goodnight, Master Quilisian. ::she smiles:: That offer of a visit to the Tower still stands, you know.

<Tarri> Oh! ::quickly swallows the last of her cider, then fishes in her pocket for a few coppers to drop on the counter:: Is that enough?

* Michelle smiles and shakes her head, "What I meant Glossaria is that we understand what you're trying to do, and that even when we do get upset with you, we always forgive you afterwards."

<Ilarion> ::grins:: I'll be sure and stop by, the next time I have several days to spare. ::he winks at her::

<Glossaria> ::blinks:: Oh. Very well.

<Michelle> Goodnight Ilarion.

* Ilarion bows to the room at large and exits.

* Dulcea bows slightly. "As you wish sir. But do you have the energy to walk a lady safely through the streets of the city to her home?"

* Michelle waves Tarri off, don't worry about it Tarri.

<Jaret> I will have the energy to do that on my deathbed.

* Sabrina walks over to Tarri "So are you coming home tonight or going to stay somewhere else?"

<Dulcea> That is good to hear. Because I am growing a bit weary and would hate to brave the streets alone.

<Tarri> ::smiles at Sabrina:: If you don't mind, I'll come back with you... ::she grins sheepishly:: I stopped there and left my pack, anyway.

* Sabrina smiles "I would never mind. IT will give us a chance to catch up"

<Jaret> I'll escort you home. ::he finishes his glass:: MIchelle, a good evening to you. It's been pleasant to enjoy everyone's company again.

<Glossaria> ::smiles:: It's good to see that you're back, Lord Jaret. It's been quiet without you.

* Michelle smiles at Jaret, "Dulcea's right Jaret. However bad it is, you should at least find the time to come here where you can relax for a few hours with your friends."

* Jaret grins at Glossaria. "Is that a request for things to change, Glossaria?"

<Tarri> ::nods and smiles at Sabrina:: Let me get my cloak, and we can walk back together. ::she heads to the fireplace to retrieve her cloak::

<Glossaria> ::smiles:: *I* for one don't believe that "May you live in interesting times" is a curse.

* Sabrina looks back to Michelle "Good night Michelle" she heads over to the door to get her cloak and head out with Tarri.

<Dulcea> You see sir, even she agrees. What harm could a few turns around the dance floor do?

<Michelle> Goodnight Tarri, Sabrina.

<Tarri> ::waves to the bar in general:: Good night, everyone!

<Glossaria> Good night, Tarri! ::waves:: Good night, Sabrina!

* Jaret smiles, and holds Dulcea's cloak out for her to step into. "I appreciate all the attention, but I still feel I must request that I put off my return to the floors for another day."

* Dulcea nods and puts on her cloak.

* Caz finishes his meade, carrying the mug back to the bar, "Thank you Michelle. How much do I owe you?"

<Glossaria> ::smiles:: Truthfully, Lady Dulcea, I'd rather hear of his adventures...

* Jaret swirls his own cloak onto his shoulders. "Good night, everyone!"

* Michelle grins at Jaret, "I think we're wearing him down Dulcea. Have him take the long way home and you might actually have him in a better mood by the end."

* Dulcea smiles at Glossaria and chuckles. "Yes dear. But I was taking any help I could get."

* Michelle looks at Caz, "Oh, a copper will be fine."

<Dulcea> ::speaking to the room in general:: Good night.

<Glossaria> Good night. Sleep sweet, both of you!

* Caz fishes a silver out of his belt pouch and hands it to Michelle, "My thanks for an enjoyable evening."

* Jaret offers Dulcea his arm. "Ready, Lady Dulcea?"

<Michelle> Goodnight Jaret, Dulcea.

* Caz turns and bows to Jaret and Dulcea, "Goodnight Lady Dulcea, sir."

* Dulcea takes his arm and smiles. "As always."

* Jaret bows his head to all, and leads Dulcea out of the Hall.

* Glossaria fishes a few coins from her purse, and leaves them on the bar, pushing her nearly-full drink back towards Michelle. "I'm sorry. Please make sure the glass understands it wasn't him."

* Caz looks between Michelle and Glossaria, "May I escort either of you ladies home this evening?"

* Michelle smiles and picks Gloss' glass up, whispering to it as she shooes the other dishes into the kitchen.

<Glossaria> ::shakes her head:: Thank you, sir, but I've not far to go. And I have my wards.

* Glossaria picks up the mirror case, traces its rim with a finger, and slips it into an inner pocket.

* Caz smiles and bows to Glossaria, "Then a good evening to you as well."

* Caz turns to Michelle, "Lady?"

* Michelle smiles at Caz, "Normally I would, but we're expecting company this evening and Deanna would never forgive me if I let you walk that far and then sent you home."

* Caz smiles, "You are a friend of Deanna's then."

* Michelle grins, "A rather good friend actually. I'll let her know you've missed her."

* Caz chuckles, "Very well then, goodnight to both of you."

* Caz swirls his cloak on and leaves.

* Glossaria steps out the door, frowning at the light mizzle dropping from the dark clouds and miming the drawing of an arch over her head. She steps out into the street, the light rain bouncing off her shield. Pink flowers grow and fade in her footsteps as she walks away.

* Michelle finishes shooing the dishes into the kitchen, dims the lamps, and leaves, locking the door behind her.
