* Meghan is sitting on a sofa in the family room reading a book. She is wearing a light blue dress and is just slightly beginning to show her pregnancy

* Kevil walks up to the new house, looking around appreciatively, and knocks smartly on the door.

* Meghan places her book on the table next to the sofa and walks to the door opening it. She smiles wide seeing Kevil "Hey Kev"

* Kevil smiles at Meghan. "Good day, bright star."

* Meghan stands back motioning him to come in. "How do you like the new house?"

* Kevil steps into the front room. "It's enormous! You'll have to give me the grand tour when we have time."

* Meghan nods to him leading him into the family room. "I promise. Have a seat" she motions to the sofa "Want something to drink?"

<Kevil> ::looks around the room and notes the book as he takes a seat:: Reading again? ::he looks up from the book:: Just some water, thank you.

* Meghan nods to him and takes a glass of the table next to the sofa where her book is and fills it form a jug on the same tray and offers it to him. "I am, reading again that is." she smiles and sits on the sofa

<Kevil> Thank you. ::he takes a long drink from the glass:: You should get out more. The reading is good for the mind, but you must be sure to keep the body healthy, as well, d'va?

<Kevil> ::smiles as if a sudden idea has occurred:: Come with me! A short walk in the city, and we can have lunch at a delightful place I have discovered!

<Meghan> ::nods to him:: Sounds wonderful. I do try to get out every day to walk.

<Kevil> That is good. ::he quickly finishes his water and stands, offering a hand to help her up:: Shall we, then?

<Meghan> ::takes his hand and stands:: ok let's

* Kevil leads Meghan into the city, walking briskly but stopping often to point out interesting sights or chat with passers-by.

* Meghan walks with Kevil matching his pace and chatting easily with him

* Kevil stops in a small side-street not far from the central market square. "Here we are!" The place was obviously once an inn, but has taken over a lot next to it where the building had burned down, and features outdoor dining tables. Kevil opens the gate and gestures Meghan in before him.

* Meghan steps in looking around "It's lovely Kev"

* Kevil looks around, and leads Meghan to an empty table, waving to signal a busy server as he holds her chair for her. "I stumbled across it the other day when I was running some errands. They have the most wonderful venison."

* Meghan sits in the seat Kevil is holding for her and nods "I might even be able to eat some" she smiles at him

<Kevil> I certainly hope so. ::he smiles:: I enjoy watching the shoppers as they walk by. ::he gestures to the bustling street:: People can be so entertaining.

<Meghan> ::nods:: It's a great spot for people watching

<Kevil> ::The server returns to the table to take their orders, and Kevil smiles at her charmingly:: Fresh-pressed cider for me, and a large venison steak - from the rare end of the spit, if you would. ::he looks at Meghan:: And you, bright star?

<Meghan> ::smiles up at the waitress:: I'll have a water and a small venison steak well done please

<Kevil> ::the server smiles at both of them and bustles away::

<Kevil> ::looks at Meghan with mock-sternness:: You left last night before I could claim the dance you promised.

<Meghan> ::nods:: I am sorry. It was a bit harder for me than I had anticipated. I promise to make it up to you ::she smiles her eyes twinkling:: any way you wish

<Kevil> ::laughs:: You are a dangerous woman, bright star... ::he smiles for the server again as she returns with their drinks. Meghan's water has small chips of ice floating in it. Kevil takes a deep drink of his cider and sighs happily::

* Meghan grins at him and sips her water "You have no idea"

* Lisl strides through the marketplace, dressed in her hunting leathers. She carries a brace of rabbits on her belt, and a good-sized buck slung over her shoulders.

* Meghan notes Lisl and smiles at her standing out as much as she does from the crowd

<Kevil> ::grins at her over the rim of his mug.:: I begin to comprehend, though...

<Meghan> ::winks at him and stands: Hey Lisl

* Kevil follows Meghan's gaze and grins somewhat sickly. "Oh." He stands as Meghan calls to Lisl and bows toward her. "Good day, Lady."

* Lisl turns off the street, looking up at the building, and pauses on her way to the kitchen entrance, hearing Meghan's hail.

<Lisl> ::walking over to their table, hitching up a deer leg as it threatens to slide:: Meghan! And Kevil. Fancy meeting you two here.

<Meghan> ::grins at Lisl:: Hey Lisl. How are you?

<Kevil> I might greet you with the same. ::he smiles:: Is it your venison I have been enjoying these past weeks?

<Lisl> I'm well. ::grins:: A little footsore, but well.

<Lisl> ::cocking her head at Kevil:: You eat here? Then, off and on, it probably has been. Tho' I've not been here to sell to them for the past few weeks. :;grins:: Hunting *other* prey.

* Meghan sits back down "Please join us for lunch Lisl?"

<Kevil> So I am given to understand. ::he glances at Meghan:: Yes, please do.

<Lisl> Ah... ::looks at the two of them:: Sure, why not? Just let me drop off this little offering and I'll be right out. If the server passes by, I could use some cold water.

<Meghan> We'll get some for you

* Kevil nods and looks around to signal the server.

* Lisl hitches the deer up again higher on her neck and makes for the kitchen door with long, easy strides.

* Meghan sits back and smiles at Kevil "Well this is a nice surprise"

* Kevil orders water from the server and sinks back in his chair. He half-smiles at Meghan. "Perhaps. Though Lady Lisl is not my greatest admirer."

<Meghan> Although I think we might want to save over how I am going to repay you for missing the dance conversation later ::winks at him::

<Meghan> ::tilts her head slightly sipping her water:: No?

<Kevil> ::laughs:: Yes, that might be a topic best saved for later.

<Kevil> ::shrugs:: I did her the dishonor of reading her incorrectly, and there has been little opportunity for me to correct my mistake.

<Meghan> Oh ::regards him her fingers lightly running up and down her glass of water:: Well perhaps now would be a good opportunity for you to?

<Kevil> ::smiles slightly:: I hope so.

<Meghan> ::smiles warmly at him:: I can't see how any woman would fail to fall in love with you the instant she saw your handsome face ::she winks playfully at him::

<Kevil> ::The server returns with Lisl's water. It has somewhat larger pieces of ice floating in it, since it was specifically requested to be cold::

* Kevil groans and laughs at the same time. "I think my handsome face may be part of the problem."

<Meghan> Oh really. Why do you think that?

* Lisl returns to their table by way of the main door, this time, her face washed of the dust of the road, her hair still slightly damp. (And without the deer and rabbits.)

<Meghan> ::smiles at her:: Welcome back Lisl

<Kevil> Well, there's... ::he stops and stands to bow for Lisl as she approaches::

<Lisl> ::rolls her eyes and waves Kevil to his seat, hooking her foot around a nearby chair and drawing it to the table to sit herself::

<Meghan> So Lisl I didn't get a chance to tell you how stunning you looked last night ::she grins::

* Kevil seats himself.

<Lisl> ::takes a sip of her water and sighs:: Yeah, sure, thanks. ::sounding very droll:: Jel and Jaret kept me dancing half the night. I thought I'd *never* get out of that dress.

<Kevil> ::nods at Meghan's comment, then smiles at Lisl's:: I take it you are not fond of formal gowns, Lady?

<Meghan> ::softly:: I'm sorry I missed it

<Lisl> ::opens her mouth as if she thought of *several* things to respond to the question with, and pauses:: Ah... no.

<Meghan> I'm sure Tyl appreciated it

<Lisl> Missed it? ::frowning:: But-- I saw you at the wedding, Meghan. Did you have to leave early? I admit, I was a little... distracted at the reception.

<Meghan> ::nods:: I did leave a bit early. Was not feeling very well

<Kevil> ::shrugs:: Ah, well. Recall that two of my three meetings with you have been on formal occasions. And you certainly did not move as if you were uncomfortable. Indeed, you seemed to be quite enjoying yourself on the dance floor.

<Lisl> Sorry to hear that. ::makes a face:: Wish I'd thought of that excuse...

<Meghan> ::laughs lightly:: Now you know for next time

<Lisl> ::pressing her lips together:: Well, you're not a terribly good judge of appearances, are you, Master Kevil?

* Meghan looks between Lisl and Kevil a bit concerned

<Kevil> ::half-smiles:: I generally am, actually. But I must admit you have presented quite the challenge.

<Lisl> ::snorts:: Lucky me. ::takes another swallow of water::

<Meghan> ::frowns a bit:: So Lisl how have you been. Seems I have not seen you in a while before last night?

<Kevil> ::laughs:: Indeed. I had thought to ask you to dance, myself, but had no chance. A lucky thing - I would not have liked to been an instrument of prolonging your torture.

<Lisl> Ah, well enough. I crewed with Zoya to go recover Yb and that beholder criminal. ::grinning a little:: Long periods of boring punctuated by brief periods of frantic bloodlust.

<Meghan> ::nods slightly:: Sounds exciting

<Lisl> ::raises an eyebrow at Kevil's comment, but says nothing, turning back to Meghan instead:: Well, it was... different. At least I didn't get motion-sick this time!

<Kevil> ::chuckles:: You, also? Perhaps it *is* Zoya's driving. ::he grins to indicate the joke::

<Meghan> ::nods:: I remember the first time I went sailing I got motion sickness. No fun at all. It's good to see you got back all in one piece ::smiles to her::

<Lisl> Hm... well, I was the only one. Perhaps it's just our delicate constitutions. ::grinning archly at Kevil::

<Kevil> ::laughs:: Perhaps.

<Lisl> Well, I nearly came back without an arm, but... ::flexes her right arm:: everything worked out on the end.

<Kevil> Or perhaps the need for fresh air is greater for some than for others. Although Zoya scoffed at the idea.

<Meghan> ::nods:: That's good.

<Lisl> ::shakes head:: I think I pretty much pinned it down to direction sense. After all, there *isn't* one, out there.

* Meghan sips her water glancing out at some pf the people passing by

<Kevil> ::considers:: Could well be... Once she dug up a remedy for me, I didn't really care what had caused it. ::he grins::

<Lisl> Mm. ::sips her water::

* Nacheyla is wandering around in the market, a bag of groceries slung across her back.

* Kevil grins. "It's probably a good thing I didn't join your part of the expedition. We nearly killed ourselves just clearing up a nest of illithid."

<Meghan> ::shivers a bit:: Good thing you didn't ::smiles softly at Kevil::

<Kevil> ::the server arrives with lunch - a small, well-done venison steak for Meghan, and a large, rare one for Kevil.::

<Lisl> ::nodding curtly:: So I heard.

* Meghan looks up to thank the waitress and sees Nach in the crowd she waves her hand "Hey Nach"

* Nacheyla stops at a nearby breadmaker to pick up a few loaves and, looking around furtively, she buys a fruit pastry.

<Kevil> ::sighs almost irritably:: If I'd been witted enough to recall what a terrible shot the man was, I wouldn't have tried to dodge.

<Lisl> ::lifts her finger to the server:: Steak tartare, please? Off the new meat, if you will.

* Nacheyla jumps, tucking the pastry behind her back. "Oh, hello... um, Meghan..."

<Meghan> ::waves her hand:: Come over and join us

* Kevil looks up, then stands and bows. "Lady Nacheyla."

<Nacheyla> Kevil! Hi, ::she tucks her pastry into her grocery bag, looking vaguely disappointed, then smiles, walking over to greet her friends::

<Lisl> ::waves a hand, bellowing good-naturedly:: 'Afternoon, Nach! Getting dessert?

* Nacheyla wave a hand at Lisl. "Hush, yes... for pity's sake!"

* Meghan pulls another chair over for Nach

<Lisl> ::chuckling, and dropping her voice:: The King's outlawed dessert?

<Meghan> ::eyes widen:: I hope not ::she chuckles::

<Nacheyla> No... ::looking aggrieved:: My waistline's outlawed dessert. But it doesn't count if no one sees you eat it.

<Meghan> ::nods:: agreed

<Lisl> ::laughs:: That's a new one. If you're worried about that pastry lying about, I'd be happy to come over and spar with you for a few weeks.

* Kevil chuckles and goes back to his steak.

* Meghan takes a few bites from her steak

<Nacheyla> It's not *that* big of a pastry!

* Meghan frowns slightly and pushes her plate back a bit, picks up her glass and drains it of the water in it

<Lisl> ::grins:: But if you're worried about a spreading waistline... Unless you've got her excuse. ::nodding to Meghan::

<Kevil> ::diffidently:: If you are offering, Lady, I would be grateful if you would be willing to spar with me some. This city life is softening my already-poor edge.

* Meghan makes a face at Lisl

* Nacheyla smiles, shaking her head. "Not yet... I've had all the children I can cope with for a while. Although I won't mind spoiling someone else's."

<Lisl> ::grins at Meghan, and turns to give Kevil a look of surprise:: YOU.... spar???

* Meghan looks around for the waitress and waves her hand to the woman when she is spotted

<Kevil> Well, I'm sure I wouldn't give you a good workout, but I have some meager ability, yes.

<Lisl> ::mumbling, half to herself:: Hunh... maybe El *was* right.

<Meghan> Meager?? Don't believe him Lisl. He is much better than meager ::she grins at Kevil::

<Nacheyla> Meager my eye! Kevil, your modesty is only out done by your flowery language.

<Lisl> ::raises an eyebrow at Nacheyla:: You saw him fight?

* Meghan whispers to the waitress to take away her plate and bring her some more water when she gets to the table

<Kevil> ::grins at Meghan and Nacheyla:: I appreciate your confidence.

<Nacheyla> ::nods:: Well, we all did a bit poorly, I'd say, but he moves like liquid silver...

<Kevil> ::eyes Lisl and Nacheyla uneasily, and takes a big bite of steak to avoid having to say anything::

* Meghan nods in agreement with Nach

<Lisl> Oh really? ::gives Kevil a long, speculative look:: Sure he hasn't just turned your head, too, Nach?

<Meghan> ::looks at Lisl:: Perhaps you should give him a chance before you pass judgement on him Lisl

<Nacheyla> Sheesh, Lisl... you're as bad as Jaret sometimes... just because he's appealing doesn't mean he's useless... ::laughs::

* Kevil swallows rather hard. "Ah... Thank you?"

* Nacheyla smiles, laying her hand on Kevil's wrist.

<Lisl> ::putting up her hands:: Who's passing judgement? I've only got my own experiences to work with, after all. ::raising an eyebrow at Meghan:: And what, may I ask, are you basing your judgments on?

<Nacheyla> On the other hand, I'd say you are a much better singer than anything else.

<Kevil> ::grins:: *That*, I'll be happy to agree with. Aside from my music, I'm really just a dabbler.

* Lisl taps her fingers on her water glass.

<Meghan> ::looks to Lisl her face emotionless:: He saved my life while we were away. That is what i base my judgement on. ::she stands:: Please excuse me for a moment ::with that she turns and walks inside the cafe::

<Lisl> ::sighs and shakes her head::

<Kevil> ::watches Meghan go, then eyes Lisl:: Lady, if all you lack is your assessment of my fighting ability in order to properly classify me, I stand ready at your word to display my abilities for you in a sparring match. I do not pretend to be anything greater than what I am - indeed, it is often helpful to be mistaken for something lesser. But I do not understand what offense I have committed against you, that you are so unwilling to believe well of me.

* Nacheyla makes a face and signals for a waitress. "That girl should eat more... the baby needs it."

* Meghan returns after a moment carrying a plate of vegetables and a glass of juice. She sits smiling at each in turn.

<Meghan> Sorry about that. Just needed to get something different to eat.

* Nacheyla speaks to a waitress quietly, getting a plate of cheeses and veggies.

<Nacheyla> I need to eat more green when I'm in this body... spending time with Xarroch, I'm eating way too much red meat.

<Lisl> ::crosses her arms and leans back from the table, her voice dripping with ice:: Very well. Forgive me. With so many against me, I must be wrong.

<Meghan> ::looks at Lisl her face soft:: Lisl please. All we are saying is to give him a chance.

* Meghan sighs softly shaking her head and looking away her eyes on her plate

* Nacheyla looks around, counting, "One, two... two. Somehow, Lisl, I think you're only mildly outnumbered. Personally, I don't care if you like him or not... it doesn't break my leg..."

<Kevil> ::His eyes blaze for just a moment before he closes them, visibly calming himself:: Do not worry on my account, bright star. It seems... my offense was greater than I had thought.

<Nacheyla> ::shrugs:: Some people just don't get along... it happens

<Lisl> Three. ::glaring at Kevil:: Elgara'a is a most ardent defender.

<Kevil> ::raises an eyebrow, still speaking mildly:: Indeed? I must remember to thank the lady for her esteem. But then, I had done her a service, so perhaps it is that which she defends, d'va?

* Meghan stands abruptly her face flushed "I'm sorry I need to go." She turns and walks from the table towards the street

<Kevil> ::looks at Meghan:: So soon, bright star? Please, if our... if my temper has spoiled your appetite, forgive it, and stay. I will behave. ::he smiles::

<Lisl> ::her tone is deceptively mild, but the sunlight appears to have picked up a yellow gleam in her eyes:: Perhaps. Though I should be careful what sorts of services you perform for her.

* Nacheyla grins sort of nonchalantly, propping her booted foot on the edge of the table.

* Meghan shakes her head at Kevil and continues on into the street quickly disappearing

* Nacheyla kicks her left leg over her ankle. "Kevil, why don't you go catch her, she gets awfully distraught from time to time."

<Kevil> ::anger flares in his eyes again:: Insult me, if you like, but do not presume to believe the lady is incapable ofdefending herself against unwanted advances, or that she is so far lost to honor as to give in to a moment's desire when so much rests on her shoulders!

<Nacheyla> Lisl, drink? ::reaches into her backpack and pulls out a stone bottle::

* Kevil eyes Nacheyla, breathing heavily with anger, then all at once sighs and nods. He rises with a brief nod to Nach and Lisl, then heads down the street after Meghan.

* Lisl rises quickly to her feet, knocking over her chair, her eyes blazing yellow and her fists clenched. With obvious effort, she takes a deep breath, turns to right her chair, and sits again.

* Nacheyla pours two glasses of clear, greasy liquid from her bottle, then blinks a few times and her eyes change to deep crimson.

<Lisl> I... apologize. You're right.

<Nacheyla> Here, have some 'kick... sit down... and please, will you tell me what's bothering you?

<Lisl> ::putting out a hand for the glass Nacheyla offers:: Thanks, Nach. ::knocking it back::

* Kevil catches up with Meghan after a few blocks. "Lady! Please wait!"

* Nacheyla knocks off her own shot of kick, a flicker of smoke coming from her mouth as she breathes out.

<Lisl> ::sighs heavily:: I wish I knew. I'm used to trusting my instincts, and there's just something... ::shakes her head:: Something about that man *really* gets under my skin.

<Lisl> ::making a face:: And I am *strongly* unfond of... flatterers.

* Meghan glances back at Kevil and turns waiting for him to catch up to where she is

* Kevil stops when he reaches Meghan. "Please, allow me to apologize. My temper..." He sighs mournfully. "I am sorry, Lady Meghan."

<Nacheyla> There are lots of things I'm sure he's not telling us. He goes out of his way to act harmless, but he's very agile. He's from Zoya's homeworld, so how did he get here? He came looking for Zoya, so why is he staying? But we all have our secrets, Lisl...

* Meghan shakes her head looking up at him "It's not you Kev. You have nothing to apologize for."

<Lisl> Heh. Very true. That could be part of what makes me uncomfortable with him. ::shakes her head:: The first time we met, he was just... it sounded like he was ready to literally sing my praises to the ends of the earth. Which, for me, could be... extraordinarily bad.

<Kevil> ::very seriously:: Ah, but I do. It is a terrible thing, for a Bard, to be unable to control one's voice, one's words. And to have upset you so... ::he shakes his head:: Please, forgive me.

<Nacheyla> He doesn't seem totally without honor, Lisl. And I'm sure he has no way of knowing what secrets you keep. He does get carried away with enthusiasm sometimes...

* Meghan glances at a woman walking past "It's not fair. She hardly knows you but has such strong feeling about you." Looks back at him her expression softening "You are human Kevil, and therefore not perfect." she smiles at him touching his cheek lightly "And I do not expect perfection from you, bard or not."

<Meghan> I do expect that she take the time to get to know you before feeling so bitter towards you ::she glances back to where Lisl and Nach are::

<Lisl> ::propping her elbows on the table, running both hands through her short hair:: Yes, yes... and... I trust El. And you. But... he plays with words so *easily*, Nach. And hearts. And... ::shakes her head:: I very much don't want my friends hurt, in a way I can't defend against. And so... I overreact, too. ::wry grimace:: And yes, I'm stubborn.

<Kevil> ::smiles:: Thank you, bright star. As for Lady Lisl... ::he shrugs:: Who knows? It is not possible to like every one, d'va? Perhaps she is a foreseer, and I will someday turn to evil. Perhaps it is that her heart was once broken by pretty flatteries, and she seeks to ward herself against thisthing again.

<Nacheyla> ::laughs:: With the possible exception of Meghan and Temire, I think all of us are adult enough to defend against a broken heart.

<Kevil> ::grins:: Or perhaps it is only that we are both old enough to be set in our ways, poised upon opposite ends of a spectrum and unable to reach a compromise.

<Nacheyla> But, I think I understand... you have spent so long, learning to control your passions, that to see someone sort of glibly embrace his own... ::looks at her shrewdly:: I'd say you might be jealous...

<Lisl> ::wry look:: Well... I might add El to that list, too. ::shaking her head:: She was so young, when she lost her husband. But, of course, you're right. ::grinning:: As usual. I just don't like being told I'm wrong.

<Meghan> ::smiles to him:: Perhaps.

<Lisl> ::laughing:: Me? Jealous?? Ha!

* Nacheyla raises her eyebrow at Lisl.

<Kevil> ::smiles at Meghan:: Will you return with me? I must apologize to Lady Nacheyla, at least, for disturbing her afternoon. And you really should eat some more, if you can. ::glances down at the barely-visible swell of her stomach::

* Meghan looks at him for a long moment before nodding "Very well"

<Lisl> ::shakes her head:: No. The "glib" I'll give you, but not the rest of it. It's just... he grins, and he expects everything female to drop at his feet. And they do! And I go away and come back, and he's got El, too.

<Nacheyla> ::looks mildly affronted:: I have *not*

<Lisl> ::raising her eyebrows at Nacheyla:: "Liquid silver"? "Appealing"?

<Kevil> ::smiles:: Thank you. I promise, I shall behave. ::he offers her his arm::

<Nacheyla> Well, come on... if you can't grant him anything else, you do have to admit, he's easy on the eyes.

* Meghan opens her mouth and then closes it shaking her head and laying her hand lightly on his arm

<Lisl> ::snorts:: If you like the swishy type, I suppose.

<Lisl> Personally, I think Zoya's better off with Marten.

* Kevil strolls with Meghan slowly back toward the cafe.

<Nacheyla> Well, she made that decision without any assistance... ::smiles::

<Lisl> ::cocking her head, taking another swallow of water:: True. ::smiling as the server finally brings her lunch, with a word of apology::

<Nacheyla> You don't have to like him, hon... we all have our little quirks... but... I wouldn't worry so much about the rest of us... and Elgara'a is a woman much concerned with her honor and status. I don't think she would be so foolish.

* Meghan glances at the people passing them bust stays quiet as she walks back with KEvil

<Lisl> No... no, you're probably right. ::sighing:: You *are* right. But it still irks me.

<Kevil> ::quietly, to Meghan, just before they re-enter the cafe:: I *am* sorry. Thank you. Yet another favor I owe you, yes? ::smiles slightly::

<Lisl> ::looking up from the table, and taking a deep, steadying breath:: Well, here they come...

<Nacheyla> ::refills Lisl's shot glass:: Somehow, I think you can live being mildly irked...

* Meghan smiles at him before stepping back inside softly "I think we are continually repaying favors to one another so I wouldn't worry about it"

<Lisl> ::grins:: Yes. We'll see if he can live without another girl at his feet.

<Kevil> Are you sure? I'm not letting you off the hook for that favor *you* owe *me*. ::he winks, then approaches the table::

<Lisl> Tho' of course... ::wrinkling her nose:: I'm old enough to be his-- his-- ancestor.

<Nacheyla> Aren't we both? ::laughs::

<Nacheyla> Us old women, we need to stick together...

* Meghan grins at him

* Lisl chuckles, and toasts Nacheyla. "Hear, hear!"

* Nacheyla knocks back her second shot of mulekick.

<Nacheyla> Uck. This stuff is awful, Lisl... I don't know why you and Xarroch like it...

* Meghan looks at both Nach and Lisl at they reach the table "I'm sorry Lisl, Nach, for running off." she sighs softly and sits

* Kevil bows to Nacheyla. "Lady. Please, forgive me for my outburst of temper. It was unacceptable behavior on my part, and I beg you not to allow it to mar your day."

<Lisl> ::grinning and affecting a snooty expression:: It's an acquired taste.

* Nacheyla pets Meghan on the shoulder. "It's okay, dear. I know I'm a bundle of nerves every time I get pregnant... comes with the territory.:

* Meghan nods lightly to her

<Lisl> ::nodding to Meghan:: I'm sorry for losing my temper. I usually have better control of myself.

* Meghan looks over at Lisl her expression soft "And I am trying to have better control of mine" she smiles softly

<Lisl> ::taking another deep breath and nodding a trifle shortly to Kevil:: Master Kevil. Likewise, I apologize for losing my temper at you. I will... *try* to keep a more open mind.

* Meghan pulls the plate of vegetables close and begins eating them

<Nacheyla> Open minds are good things... just keep in mind that open-minded doesn't mean having a hole in your head. ::laughs, then puts the stone bottle away::

<Lisl> ::grins at Nacheyla:: I certainly hope not. ::rueful grin:: And I, of all people, should be the last one needing a lesson on intolerance. ::sighing::

* Kevil turns to Lisl warily. "There was nothing you said which requires apology, Lady Lisl. You wished only to protect your friend from an unknown influence, for which I must only offer respect. I regret my own too-hasty words, and hope that you will be kind enough to forgive them." He starts to bow, then thinks better of it and offers Lisl his hand.

* Nacheyla eats a piece of cheese. "We all need reminded every once in a while."

* Lisl warily takes Kevil's hand and shakes it, her grip firm but not overly painful.

<Kevil> ::carefully matches Lisl's grip, then smiles slightly and reseats himself:: Thank you.

<Nacheyla> So, ::biting into a celery stalk:: aside from taking bites out of each other, what were we doing this glorious afternoon?

<Kevil> ::grins somewhat and picks up his fork:: Enjoying the best venison in Marsember.

<Lisl> ::laughs out loud before slapping her hand over her mouth:: Sorry. ::sheepish look as she slices off a piece of steak and spears it::

<Meghan> I was hoping to. I don;t think the baby like red meat very much tho.

<Kevil> ::eyes Lisl, eyes twinkling:: If there is better to be found, I beg you to tell me where.

<Nacheyla> No, probably not... you should eat breads and cheeses and fruits and stuff... have you ever had a baby before?

<Lisl> Ha. That'll change later. ::grins at Kevil:: That wasn't what I was laughing about.

<Meghan> ::shakes her head:: No this is my first

<Kevil> Ah. Good. ::he takes a bite with relish:: I liked venison even when all I could get was dried. I like it better fresh.

<Nacheyla> ::nods:: You look like it. ::critically picks up Meghan's wrist and turns it over:: You're not taking very good care of yourself...

<Lisl> You should try Rhys's cooking, then. He's a wonder. And I make sure the Hall's well-supplied.

<Kevil> ::grins:: I will be sure to ask, when next I meet Sir Rhys at the Hall.

* Meghan glances down at looks at the blue rose on her wrist for a moment before pulling her hand back from Nach "I'm doing better"

* Lisl takes another slice of steak, swallowing quickly. "If you're still getting morning sickness, you should talk to Goody Bea. She's one of the local midwives-- the best, in my opinion, but then, she's a friend. She'll have a cure for you.

<Nacheyla> Bah! ::smiles, petting Meghan's shoulder again:: Michelle and I will take care of you... he kicking much yet? ::grins::

<Lisl> "

<Meghan> No the morning sickness seems to have gone. And *she* has not started kicking yet no. ::smiles at Nach::

* Lisl nods to herself, and pauses to take a sip of 'kick.

<Nacheyla> Well, that's handy to know... ::smiles:: and enjoy your sleep, while you're still getting it.

<Kevil> ::looks at Meghan and grins:: Now that the sickness has gone, you will begin to recover your appetite, I am certain. My older sisters each ate enough for three grown adults when they were in their middle terms.

<Meghan> ::nods at Kevil::I hope so. ::grins at Nach:: You'll need to talk to 'chelle about keeping me up late

<Lisl> ::nods:: Heh. If nothing else, having a baby kick you in the bladder's enough to get most women up in a hurry.

<Nacheyla> ::laugh:: Or twins... when one punches you in the ribs and the other is dancing on your kidneys...

<Meghan> ::shakes her head::I think one is enough for me

<Lisl> ::gives Nacheyla a challenging grin:: Quadruplets. Once. NEVER again. I felt like a barge.

<Nacheyla> Ha! you ought to try having a half elf - being pregnant for fourteen months!

* Meghan s eyes wides at Nach and Lisl "Aren't you supposed to be telling comforting things to me?"

<Kevil> ::watches the women one-up each other with amusement, then sighs slightly:: I miss my... ::frowns slightly:: N...nieces and nephews? Is that the correct words?

<Lisl> ::waves a hand at Meghan:: Oh, piffle. You only have one. ::grins::

<Nacheyla> ::grins:: No... we're not... we're supposed to tell you awful things so that when you get around to it, you'll think, "well, gee, that wasn't so bad."

<Meghan> ::grins at lisl:: Thank god

<Meghan> ::laughs lightly at Nach:: Oh ok I understand ::nods to Kevil:: Yes those are the correct words

* Meghan finishes the vegetables on her plate as well as some cheese from Nach's

<Kevil> ::he smiles at Meg:: Thank you. For some reason, I have trouble with the family-words. I think it is because I cannot make myself forget them in my own tongue, d'va?

<Lisl> Fourteen *months*? ::shakes her head:: Suddenly, I'm *very* grateful to my... children.

<Kevil> ::finishes his steak and pushes his plate back with a sigh::

* Meghan grins at Kevil "Good?"

<Kevil> ::he smiles:: Yes.

<Lisl> ::grins and takes another forkful of raw venison::

* Nacheyla stretches, leaning back in her chair.

<Nacheyla> I still have half a houseful of stuff to pack... blah.

<Lisl> Half a houseful? ::grins:: I can't believe I'm saying this, I *must* love my friends. Need help?

<Nacheyla> Oh, sure ::winks::

<Kevil> ::glances at Lisl, then smiles at Nach:: I, also, am willing to offer assistance, once I have seen Lady Meghan safely home.

<Lisl> Ooh, he packs, too? ::raising an eyebrow:: Maybe there *is* good in you, after all.

* Meghan laughs at Lisl and gives her a 'I told you so' look

<Nacheyla> Cool... I hate packing.

<Kevil> ::chuckles:: Not only packs, but carries as well - at least as far as the nearest wagon.

* Lisl rolls her eyes at Meghan and takes another forkful of steak. "Don't push it, kiddo."

* Nacheyla pulls out her pasty and splits it in half, offering half to Kevil and half to Lisl...

<Nacheyla> Yes, Auntie Lisl

* Meghan grins

<Lisl> ::raising an eyebrow:: Not having any, Nach?

<Nacheyla> I can get another... ::grins::

<Kevil> ::accepts the pastry and takes a bite, grinning::

<Nacheyla> Well, you can walk Meg over to the House, and I'll see you in a bit. Coming, Lisl?

<Meghan> Bye Nach, Lisl ::smiles to them::

<Kevil> ::nods and stands:: Ready?

* Lisl grins and takes a bite of the pastry as she stands.

* Meghan stands and nods drinking the last of her water

* Nacheyla leads the way over to the bread stall where she buys six more pastries, then heads towards her cottage.

* Kevil offers Meghan his arm as they head back toward the new house.

<Lisl> ::laughs:: Ooh, stocking up for the move?

* Meghan lays her hand gently on Kevil's arm and walks with him

<Lisl> Later, Meghan! :;waves::

* Meghan waves at Lisl
