* Meghan walks into the house and looks around noticing everything is in bed for the night. She goes and sits on the sofa for a moment enjoying the silence. After a few minutes she goes to her room and changes into a nightshirt and goes to Michelle's room. She stands before the door for a long time before knocking lightly <Meghan> ::softly:: Michelle? <Michelle> ::softly from behind the door:: Come in Meghan. * Meghan slips into the room and gently closes the door behind her and then leans back against it <Meghan> Were you asleep? * Michelle sits up in bed. She's wearing a simple flannel nightgown. "Yes, but you need to talk about something." Pats the bed next to her. "Sit down and tell me about it." * Meghan goes and sits next to Michelle on the bed. "It's not so much a need to as much as I just would really like your company right now." * Michelle looks at Meghan for a moment, "Should I get up and make us some cocoa?" * Meghan shakes her head lightly "No but I appreciate the thought" she smiles softly * Michelle leans forward and puts a hand on Meghan's shoulder, "Is there anything I can do for you?" * Meghan looks deeply at Michelle for e moment and then lowers her gaze to the bed shaking her head "I don't think so no" * Michelle scoots over and hugs Meghan, "Is this because of what I said at the river?" * Meghan bites her lip and shakes her head leaning against Michelle "I don't think so." <Michelle> So have you decided what you're going to do? <Meghan> ::nods:: Somehow I am going to get over Vallel. <Michelle> Any idea how? * Meghan shakes her head pulling back and looking at Michelle <Meghan> Any suggestions? * Michelle shakes her head, "Not really. You've already demonstrated that for you, absence makes the heart grow fonder." * Meghan laughs softly "Yeah that plan didn't work did it" <Michelle> So how are classes going with Tyl'gainia out of town? * Meghan moves to lay on her stomach "Ok I think. I have pretty much been able to catch up on a lot of the things that I missed. I really need to talk to Tyl about what she thinks I should do now though. I think my classes should be changed a bit" * Michelle stretches out under the covers and smiles at Meghan, "Oh, what changes were you thinking of?" <Meghan> Well I need to get more involved in healing classes and things of that nature. Since I have discovered my empathy I have not had much of a chance to talk to Tyl about it or how she thinks I should arrange my classes to learn more about it * Michelle nods, "I can teach you healing as well. Not with your psionics, but the old fashion way with bandages and compresses. It would make a good compliment to your psionic skills." * Meghan nods "I agree. IT would be very useful" * Meghan turns onto her side and smiles at Michelle "Not to change the subject but I thought you might like to know, I heard the baby today. At least I think it was the baby" * Michelle nods, "You should be by now. I haven't heard, but then, you have been around much." <Meghan> ::nods:: Well that will change. I plan on being very few places but here and school for a while....maybe the Hall every once in a while ::she smiles:: * Michelle smiles and shakes her head, "Trust me. Get out as much as you can now. You'll be house bound enough in a few months." <Meghan> True. I'll probably go to the river a lot too. ::she smiles softly to Michelle:: Find anything interesting? * Michelle returns the smile, "Don't know, I'm still looking." * Meghan reaches out and touches Michelle's cheek lightly with her fingertips gently brushing it "Have I told you lately how thankful I am to have you in my life?" * Michelle takes Meghan's hand in hers. "No, you've been too busy pining over Vallel." * Meghan nods her face becoming sober "I know. But as of tonight that is behind me and I need to start moving forward." <Michelle> So have you chosen a direction for your life, or are you simply going to see where the winds of fate take you? <Meghan> Well I have some direction ::her lose hand gently strokes her belly:: but the rest I think I'll leave up to fate for now * Michelle nods, "That's a good place to start." * Meghan smiles "I thought so to" <Meghan> Michelle are you ok with me continuing to live with you? <Michelle> Yes. That's why I've been running around trying to find a larger house. * Meghan nods squeezing Michelle's hand. * Michelle shakes her head, "Meghan, between empaths that kind of sharing is one of the deepest expressions of love I've ever heard of...But I can't share it with you unless you truly feel that way about me. If I'm just a substitute for Vallel, or if you care for me simply because of the help and care I give you...That's not love. We can be friends, but I won't share that with you unless I know the feeling is returned." * Meghan nods and looks away pulling her hand lightly from Michelle's <Meghan> ::softly:: Of course I understand * Michelle looks sadly at Meghan's hand, "I'm sorry Meghan. I want to share that with you. I want to share my life with you, but I owe it to myself as well as to you and your child to be certain that my feelings are returned...And your emotions have been so confused recently..." Michelle sighs. <Meghan> ::nods:: I know. I wish I could honestly tell you that I do share those feeling. But I can't, not now anyways. * Michelle nods sadly, "I know." <Meghan> ::softly:: should I go? * Michelle looks into Meghan's eyes. "I don't know." * Meghan sits up "Then maybe I should" * Meghan looks back at Michelle * Michelle sits up as well and puts a hand on Meghan's arm, "Do you need the company?" <Meghan> ::shakes her head lightly:: Not if it is harder for you if I stay * Michelle shakes her head, "That wasn't what I asked." * Meghan smiles softly "I know. But it is what I am offering. I won't let myself make this more difficult for you than it already is Michelle" * Michelle shakes her head again, "Meghan, being an empath is like being a doctor. You have to check your own heart, before you go and check someone else's. The question was, 'Do YOU need the company?' NOT 'What will make me happiest?'" <Meghan> ::nods:: And that applies as much to me as it does to you doesn't it. <Michelle> Yes, but I know my answer, I want to know yours. * Meghan looks at Michelle for a long moment. "I don't NEED the company no." * Michelle sighs and looks at her hands in her lap, "If you stay I'll think I'm winning your affections, if you leave I'll think that I'm losing them." <Meghan> ::nods:: So you think if I stand in the doorway you will think you neither gain nor lose them ::she smiles at Michelle her eyes twinkling:: * Michelle giggles softly and shakes her head, "No. Go to a bed, just be aware of what your actions mean to yourself before you start fretting over how I'll take them." <Meghan> ::nods:: If I stay I'll be able to be close to someone i care a great deal for and want to be close to. If I go to my own bed I'll simply be alone. * Michelle scoots over in the bed and pulls the covers up for Meghan, "Then climb in. No doubt we can both use the sleep." * Meghan smiles and slides under the blankets her head resting on the pillow. * Michelle settles her head an her own pillow, gazing at Meghan, "Goodnight Meghan." * Meghan returns her gaze "Sleep sweet Michelle" * Meghan is quickly asleep |
