* Meghan walks to Val's room with a few books tucked under her arm. She is wearing a light blue dress and her hair is tied back with the same color tie. The silver circlet is resting on her head * Meghan stops just before the door to the room and knocks gently * Sanriel is sitting on his bed, checking his bow-staff over carefully, some worn wood-working tools and bow strings spread out beside him, and the door slightly ajar. He jumps in surprise at the knock. <Meghan> Vallel? <Sanriel> Um, hello? Come in... * Meghan smiles softly at Sanriel "Hello. I was just looking for Vallel. You must be Sanriel?" * Sanriel stands up suddenly, blushing and brushing some wood chips and a stray tool out of his lap <Sanriel> err.. yes.. Sanriel... me. ::nods quickly:: * Meghan grins at the boy. "My name is Meghan. It is so nice to finally meet you" <Sanriel> ::looking flustered:: Val.. Vallel's not here right now. <Sanriel> Oh.. you're Meghan? ::extends his hand quickly:: Umm.. nice to meet you, Val's told me a little about you. ::smiles hesitantly:: <Meghan> ::nods:: Well I'll just leave these books for him. ::smiles and takes his hand shaking it gently:: Oh yeah. All good things I hope ::her eyes twinkle teasingly:: <Sanriel> ::blushes again, looking down and holding the bow-staff tightly:: mostly, yeah... ::shakes Meg's hand and looks back up:: <Sanriel> So.. you come here, too? <Meghan> Yes I take classes here. Mostly at night now. I'm pretty useless in the mornings these days. Are you enjoying your classes? * Meghan perches on the corner of Val's bed placing the books beside her * Sanriel fidgets a little and sits back down, then jumps up with a small yipe and moves the awl that he just sat on before trying again <Sanriel> Well I haven't really started any classes just yet. I'm learning how to read and write right now.. ::glances at the books:: * Sanriel leans the bow-staff against the wall and fidgets with the awl in both hands now <Meghan> ::grins:: right Val told me Gloss was teaching classes. Well good for you ::she smiles softly:: Val also said something about visions that you have? <Sanriel> ::nods and smiles:: Glossaria's really nice. It's a lot easier to learn from someone that truly loves what they're teaching. <Sanriel> My visions...? ::colors slightly again:: I came here so I could learn how to control them... <Meghan> ::nods to him:: Well good luck with that. If there is ever anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to ask <Sanriel> ::smiles:: Thanks, I appreciate that. I think.. I *hope*, that it's just a matter of time now. <Sanriel> As scary as some of them have been, too.. I want to at least see them myself, also. <Meghan> ::nods:: How long have you been having them for? <Sanriel> ::sighs and shrugs slightly:: People started noticing a couple of years ago. And started getting a bit scared a little after that... <Meghan> ::Smiles softly at him:: well I don't want to pry, or make you more uncomfortable than you are ::she winks at him:: What are you working on ::gestures to the things strewn about the room:: <Sanriel> ::meets Meghan's eyes and grins:: Well mostly I'm glad that I'm not going mad. <Meghan> ::nods:: Yes that is something to be thankful for <Sanriel> This? Oh, this is my bow... This is probably the longest I've gone without using it, but I still keep up the regular maintenance. It's kind of a habit at this point. ::smiles:: <Meghan> ::nods:: it's beautiful <Sanriel> And I definitely want to go out and practice again soon now that those mind-squid things have been taken care of. <Meghan> ::nods:: maybe i could get you to teach me. I've never used a bow before <Sanriel> ::blushes again:: Oh, thanks... it's something that was just part of what I did in the militia. We were all scout-types in the woods, so the bow was one of our most important tools. ::takes on the tone of an authoritative quote:: "And you must always take care of your tools" * Sanriel grins <Meghan> ::nods smiling at him:: Well it looks like you are doing a wonderful job <Sanriel> I'd be willing to try sometime, if you like.. but it takes years to learn how to use one properly. And it looks like what with things here and keeping up the routines I'm *trying* to get into place ::grins a bit ruefully:: that I'll be pretty busy. * Sanriel blushes again and looks down <Meghan> ::nods to him:: We'll if you have the time then ::smiles softly:: <Sanriel> I'm sure I will.. 'specially once I get this whole "literacy" thing down. I never imagined that sounds could be.. be... recorded like that. <Sanriel> But apparently this reading stuff is going to be necessary for learning, and figuring out my visions and stuff. ::grins a little:: <Meghan> ::grins at him:: I'm sure Gloss is doing a great job teaching you <Sanriel> ::smiles back:: I know she's doing well if even I'm getting it. I never thought of myself doing "scholarly" things. ::stifles a giggle:: <Meghan> As long as you are enjoying it. Just be sure to have some fun in all of it ::she winks at him:: <Sanriel> ::blushes again suddenly:: I.. I'm trying. <Sanriel> ::quickly:: Val took me to a place called "Sealgair's Meade Hall" last week. Met some very strange people there, but that was fun... <Meghan> ::nods:: good ::she stands brushing her dress lightly:: well i should probably go. Will you let Vallel know I stopped by and dropped off his books? <Sanriel> ::jumps up, dropping the awl on the floor and flinching when it lands:: Oh! Um. Yes. I'll be happy to. Let him know, I mean. About the books. ::nods:: <Meghan> ::grins lightly:: It was very nice to meet you Sanriel <Sanriel> ::blushes quickly and darts to open the door for Meghan:: It was nice to meet you too, Mistress Meghan. I.. will probably see you around? <Meghan> ::nods to him:: I'm sure you will. Have a great day. ::she walks out into the afternoon:: <Sanriel> Umm, you too! ::waves to Meghan as she walks away and closes the door behind her, looking curiously at the books she left behind.:: * Sanriel rubs his face as the blush fades and shakes his head with a little grin, then goes back to checking over his bow staff again, glancing occasionally at the door and the books resting on Val's bed |
