* Nacheyla walks in, lights the wall sconces and plops down behind the bar. <Nacheyla> Hall's open! * Tyl walks in, wearing work clothes that are dusty and somewhat ripped. <Nacheyla> Well, Mistress Tyl, you look like you walked through a mean housecleaning... * Tyl brushes herself off a bit, looking somewhat abashed. <Tyl> ::sitting down at the bar:: It's a long, dry story... can I get a rum and ice? * Nacheyla pours a drink for Tyl and leaves the bottle on the bartop next to her. * Nacheyla pours herself a mug of dark brown beer and sits down behind the bar * Zoya enters, looks around quickly, and smiles at Nacheyla. "Good evening! How are you doing?" She seats herself at the bar. * Nacheyla grins. <Nacheyla> Much better these days, thank you... * Meghan walks in and takes a seat at the bar <Nacheyla> Get you a drink, Zoya? * Meghan smiles to Nacheyla and Zoya <Meghan> Evening ladies * Tyl looks over. <Zoya> Oh, sure. I'll have a cider, if you have any. * Yohko comes in through the kitchen and takes a seat at the bar. <Zoya> Good evening, Meghan! How are you tonight? * Meghan looks over at Tyl and smiles "Evening Tyl" <Meghan> I am good thanks Zoya. How are you doing <Tyl> Hey Zoya... ::grins:: Can you spare a healing or two? ::indicates her shoulder, where a blood stain is just starting to seep through her shirt:: * Nacheyla pours Zoya a mug of cider * Meghan gasps softly <Meghan> Tyl are you ok? <Nacheyla> Good evening, Meghan, Yohko... Yohko, I have something for you... ::pulls out an old bottle of Saki:: <Zoya> ::starts:: Oh, hello, Tyl! What happened to your shoulder? ::she starts rummaging in her sleeve:: <Tyl> ::makes a face:: Someone decided that a knife looked really good stuck in it. * Yohko grins, "Think you can warm that up for me. As bored as I've been recently I doubt I should be drinking it cold." * Lisl strides in, hanging her cloak on a peg by the door. "'Evening, all. Kick, please, Nacheyla. Tyl, what in the hells did you do to yourself? I caught your blood trail halfway down the block! <Zoya> ::sighs, and comes up with a potion. She uncorks it and hands it to Tyl:: What now? * Tyl quaffs the potion... makes a gagging sound and coughs a few times. <Meghan> Evening Yohko and Lisl <Tyl> I do *not* want to know what you put in that... <Tyl> ::to Lisl:: Oh, just a dispute over property... mine, this time... * Meghan glances concerned at Tyl * Xarroch thwacks open the door and sidles through it, looking as large and messy as usual, but the clothes seem to fit a little better... <Nacheyla> Xarroch! Hello my friend. Long time no see. ::pours him a large mug of mulekick:: Good hunting recently? <Lisl> ::smiling as she takes a seat at the bar:: 'Evening, Meghan. ::without turning around:: 'Evening, Xarroch. * Yohko turns to Xarroch, "Oh, things are definitely starting to look up. Course I should probably remember that curse about interesting times." <Zoya> ::looks innocent:: I don't know what's in them, either. * Meghan glances at Xarroch curiously and then turns to the bar <Lisl> ::raising an eyebrow:: Now there's a switch, Tyl. Someone trying to steal off of *you*? No honor among thieves? <Zoya> ::grins:: Xarroch! It's been a while! <Meghan> Nacheyla could I have some red wine please <Nacheyla> Surely. ::pours a goblet of wine for Meg and sits it on the bar:: * Jaret enters from the main (side) door. "Good evening everyone!" He doffs his hat and deeply bows to all in the room. <Meghan> Thanks ::smiles warmly:: <Xarroch> ::grins and stretches out, almost seeming to expand a bit:: Hello! It has been some time, hasn't it? ::scratches his head and moves to the bar:: * Meghan glances at Jaret and smiles then turns back to the bar taking a long drink of her wine <Lisl> 'Evening, Jaret. ::grinning a little as she sketches a elaborate Anarauchian hand courtesy in the air in Jaret's general direction:: <Zoya> ::raises her cider in greeting to Jaret:: How are you tonight? <Yohko> For shame Jaret. You bow was three twefths of an inch shallower than usual and the arc on your hat was off by three seconds. * Yohko smiles. * Xarroch shakes his head at Lisl's bow and glaces around * Lisl manfully restrains a snicker. <Yohko> [you = your] * Meghan chuckles softly ay Yohko's comment <Tyl> ::inspects the wound on her shoulder somewhat awkwardly:: Well... it was more a matter of... ::pauses:: let's just say the item in question was up for dispute... <Lisl> You were haggling? Or you both were trying to steal the same thing? <Jaret> Yohko, your sense of humor is so delightfully refined. A shame it hasn't caught on with the general populace yet. <Tyl> Actually, I bought it from a street vendor that he was trying to steal it from... * Yohko smiles, "But what would you do if the general populace had achieved your level of panache?" <Nacheyla> Jaret? ::pours him a glass of his usual:: Nice to see you again... <Xarroch> ::grins at Nach and drains the mulekick in one sip, setting the mug back down:: The hunting has died down quite a bit. ::looks slightly downcast:: <Jaret> ::to Zoya:: I am well. Slightly chillier than I wish to be, but a glass of wine and all will be well again. <Xarroch> ::perks up:: But I expect things to pick up again soon. ::nasty grin:: <Tyl> ::shudders:: That doesn't sound good... * Lisl starting a bit as her mug of 'kick taps her politely on the elbow. "Whoops... sorry, little guy." She picks up the mug and takes a hefty swallow. <Yohko> Oh, anything interesting you want to let the rest of us in on Xarroch. With my apprentice out of town I've been at something of a loss as to how to fill my time. * Meghan smiles at Lisl's conversation with her kick <Lisl> ::evil grin:: We could always try another game of tag, Xarroch, if you *promise* not to rip up trees this time. <Xarroch> ::laughs:: Then where's the fun in that? <Lisl> Hey, my father *was* a forest ranger, and I'm half-elven. I have a tree-hugging reputation to maintain, here. <Tyl> ::snerts half of her rum all over her shirt:: Tree-hugging?? * Meghan takes another sip of her wine and sits back on her stool pulling out a small book and flipping back and forth through a few pages in the middle <Xarroch> Actually, I found that there's a bit of a lull in the main fighting of some of my enemies, and I know they're planning to put a bit more effort into sending me prey. ::bares his teeth:: <Lisl> ::grinning and handing Tyl a napkin:: It's an expression. <Tyl> ::blots at her wet shirt:: No worries about stains on this shirt... I think it's due for the ragbag <Xarroch> So is that business about your reputation, I think.. treehugging? ::looks puzzled:: * Jaret has a sip of his wine. <Lisl> ::raising an eyebrow, and responding in a dangerously mild voice:: You have something to say about my reputation, demon? <Xarroch> ::notices Tyl's wound and sticks a finger through a hole in the shoulder of her shirt and lifts it a little:: What happened there? * Xarroch laughs and slaps Lisl on the back <Tyl> Oh, nothing important... someone was trying to lift something that I'd just bought. And since I actually paid for it, I wasn't about to let him have it. He stuck a knife in me. I returned it. <Xarroch> ::grins at Tyl:: It looks like your aim was better. * Lisl coughs lightly as her ribs creak. * Meghan is sitting at the bar reading <Lisl> :shaking her head:: Some people just have no respect for commercial enterprise. <Tyl> Well, I must say, he's not likely to be doing it again... ::grins:: <Lisl> I would guess he's not likely to be doing *anything* again, yes? * Meghan looks slightly frustrated and closes the book slipping it back into her pocket * Meghan finishes off her wine <Lisl> Something the matter, Meghan? <Tyl> Actually, he's fine... he's just... sort of obvious... he'll have to find a psionic to undo what I did to him... ::laughs:: <Jaret> Meghan? Is everything all right? <Meghan> ::shakes her head slightly:: Just trying to figure things out Lisl ::smiles softly:: * Lisl nods, and takes another swallow of 'kick. * Meghan glances at Jaret "I'm good thanks" <Meghan> [glances] <Jaret> That's... good. <Lisl> ::raises an eyebrow at Tyl:: You created a big glowing sign over his head that says "Thief here"? <Xarroch> ::chuckles nastily:: Mindwork, eh? Seems you've gotten better, little Tyl'gainia. And perhaps nastier! ::nods approvingly:: <Lisl> ::glances over her shoulder briefly at Jaret, noting the interchange:: <Tyl> ::laughs:: Good guess... actually he's blinking red and blue light... <Meghan> Nacheyla could I get another glass please <Meghan> [could] <Nacheyla> Certainly... ::pours another glass of wine:: <Meghan> Thanks ::Smiles:: <Lisl> ::grinning:: Well, there goes his sneakiness factor.... <Lisl> I suppose it's hard to be suave when you're purple. <Tyl> ::grins:: that was the idea... <Tyl> It won't hurt him, but it makes him very obvious, and I don't think he'll be sleeping well for a while... <Zoya> Aren't all the real psionics in this town associated with your school, Tyl? <Tyl> ::grins:: Um... well, yes... * Meghan turns slightly and takes a sip of her wine <Zoya> ::chuckles:: Will it at least wear off after some time? <Meghan> Hey Jaret? <Lisl> Hmm... would one psionic automatically recognize another? It's not exactly a tattoo on the forehead. * Xarroch shakes his head <Tyl> It'll fade over the next few weeks... <Jaret> Yes, Meghan? <Meghan> I was wondering if you had a chance to drop off the stone, and how long you think it might take? <Tyl> And as for recognizing psionics... I can do it, one person at a time, but I haven't got the time to mindscan everyone in the city... <Lisl> Hm. So there *could* be other psionics out there, that you don't know about yet. Curious. <Jaret> I dropped the stone off at the jeweler's, and was very exacting in relaying your specifications -- that the stone should not be cut in the slightest. I think it should be ready in about a week or so. * Meghan nods <Meghan> Thanks <Xarroch> It's relatively easy to mask yourself from casual notice by other psionics. <Lisl> ::raising her eyebrows, looking from Jaret to Meghan:: Well... since Felice isn't here to ask... what's this about a stone, if you don't mind my asking? * Meghan turns to Lisl <Jaret> It's... well, Meghan, would you like to explain? * Xarroch looks over curiously * Yohko smiles at Lisl, "Should I get her?" <Meghan> It's a stone I found on the river starwater. I think it is a gemstone that belonged to Sissra. Michelle suggested that I have it made into a necklace. <Lisl> Quite alright, thank you, Yohko. Sissra? ::sitting up straight:: You think you've found part of Sissra's Treasure? Where? * Nacheyla blinks a few times <Meghan> on the bank of the River Starwater <Lisl> ::wry look:: Well, that would make sense... but that covers an awful lot of territory. <Xarroch> What is a Sissra? * Meghan looks curiously at Lisl <Meghan> How much do you know about Sissra? <Yohko> Elven princess who died a few centuries back. Your funeral barge was sunk somewhere on the river and people have been trying to find it, or more specifically, the treasure it carried ever since. <Xarroch> ::laughs suddenly:: There always *is* something going on around here, isn't there? * Meghan smiles at Xarroch <Meghan> [at] * Meghan nods to Yohko <Meghan> Jaret has told me that much. I have not been able to find out much more about her <Xarroch> They sent treasure with a corpse? Sometimes I still really don't understand you humans and elves. * Xarroch grins back at Meghan, baring many teeth in an almost-scary smile * Meghan tries not to look to surprised as Xarroch smiles at her. * Yohko blinks at Xarroch, "What does a demon need with treasure?" <Tyl> What does anyone need with treasure? It's pretty, it spends well, and people are always interested in where you got it... <Yohko> [And for that matter, "Why does God need a starship?"] * Meghan grins at Tyl <Meghan> I just think this particular stone is special. At least for me <Xarroch> :blinks back at Yohko, then laughs:: Aye! You think valuable and magic aren't valued elsewhere? Wealth is a part of things, and having it is one measure of power. <Xarroch> ::raises an eyebrow at Meghan:: And why is that? <Yohko> Magic I can understand, but you mean that demons are petty enough to measure standing by how much shiny metal you've got piled up? * Meghan pauses for a moment not being sure how much information she wants to let out <Lisl> Well, the usual, I'd suppose. ::nodding at Yohko:: That about covers it. I grew up in this region, you see, and she died only a decade before I was born. ::looking a little wistful:: She was legendary already, then. ::looking a little wistful:: I used to spend my spare time treasure-hunting along the Starwater, I was certain that *I* was going to be the one to find it. Mother stopped me when I came home covered head to toe in swamp mud a <Tyl> ::blinks:: I'd be more surprised if they didn't... <Zoya> ::laughs:: Why not? Humans are. Demons aren't that much smarter. ::grins at Xarroch:: <Xarroch> ::grins:: You'll be hard pressed to find many more petty creatures... When you live under the thumb of creatures that can kill you at whim, you grasp at any semblance of power to hold over your kind. <Tyl> I mean, it's not so much that gold itself is particularly useful... but that you can take it away from someone or something else... even if you "take" it by good investments or being a clever merchant... it's a way of proving you're better than someone else <Lisl> ...covered head to toe in swamp mud and tracked footprints all over her floor. <Meghan> Well I wasn't really looking for the stone it just happened to be sitting there as I walked past. A place where I am sure hundreds of people have walked past. And it warms when I hold it * Meghan laughs at Lisl's story <Zoya> ::perks up:: It does? How warm? * Xarroch chuckles at Lisl, and nods at Tyl <Meghan> ::to Zoya:: Just slightly. Enough for me to notice * Yohko shakes her head, "One more of life's illusions shot to hell." <Xarroch> Interesting. Do you have any talent for magic? ::looks more curious now:: <Meghan> It won't for anyone else though ::glances to Jaret for confirmation:: <Meghan> ::shakes her head:: Not that I know of * Xarroch laughs and thumps Yohko on the shoulder <Lisl> What was particularly tragic was that she *did* die, and so young... Mother used to tell me that every elf in her kingdom brought their most beautiful, treasured possession, and piled her funeral barge high with them in token of their grief. <Jaret> Meghan is correct. I never felt it warm to my touch. * Meghan nods to Lisl <Meghan> That is what Jaret told me <Xarroch> A better show of grief would be to slaughter whatever killed her and send *that* on the funeral with her! <Zoya> ::glances at Jaret and back at Meghan:: Is Jaret the only one who's tried it besides you? <Meghan> Nope. Michelle held it to. She did not feel it warm until I was touching it. Then she did feel it warm <Zoya> Very interesting... ::gazes into space, contemplating:: * Nacheyla shakes her head... * Meghan watches at Zoya * Yohko shakes her head, "Pass me a bowl Nacheyla." <Lisl> ::shaking her head with a small quirk of a smile:: That's not how elves mourn, Xarroch. The greatest sorrow, to a grey elf, is the destruction of something that brings beauty in the world, and Sissra's death *still* ranks at the top of that list. <Xarroch> Maybe you're something new and different, then. ::grins:: <Meghan> What do you think Zoya? <Nacheyla> ::hands Yohko a bowl:: * Meghan grins back to Xarroch <Meghan> Maybe I am <Lisl> ::smiling a little:: I'm glad you found it, Meghan, and I'm glad you decided not to cut it. <Lisl> ::grinning wider at Xarroch:: Something new and different, in this place? Perish the thought. <Meghan> ::nods:: Michelle's suggestion. I just can't stop thinking about it. Almost wish I had just held onto it <Zoya> ::smiles:: I don't know, Meghan. You, Jaret, and Michelle isn't a very conclusive test group. ::she grins:: Of course, I'd love to run some tests, but that's entirely up to you. * Yohko opens the sake, pours some into the bowl and then empties the bowl. <Xarroch> ::nods slightly to Lisl:: destruction happens.. the best we can do is try make sure it happens to the right creatures. ::chuckle:: * Xarroch laughs <Meghan> ::nods:: As soon as I get it back I'll bring it to the tower and you can look at it if you'd like <Nacheyla> ::shrug:: everyone's idea of the right creature is different though... <Meghan> I know somehow it is connected to Sissra ::pauses:: and me.....somehow <Xarroch> Perhaps, but *mine* is correct. ::winks:: <Zoya> ::beams:: That would be great. I adore magical mysteries. <Nacheyla> ::winks back:: Yeah, I feel that way too... * Meghan grins * Xarroch studies Meghan speculatively * Meghan glances at Xarroch and grins at him more confidently then extends her hand out to him. <Meghan> My name is Meghan * Xarroch looks at Meghan's hand a bit puzzled <Yohko> Remember Xarroch, she's fragile. <Lisl> What *ever* you say, Xarroch. ::taking a swallow of kick and crossing her eyes at him over the rim:: * Meghan glances at Yohko <Xarroch> Oh, that's right! ::carefully takes her much smaller hand in his and shakes it:: Xarroch! ::grins:: <Zoya> We had this lesson before, Xarroch. Shaking hands, remember? ::stage-whispered aside, to Lisl:: Demons. Not to bright. <Zoya> [too] * Xarroch slaps Zoya on the shoulder and laughs * Meghan shakes his hand gently and smiles at him <Xarroch> It's been a while! <Lisl> ::grinning and stage-whispering back:: Well, OBVIOUSLY. He drinks 'kick, doesn't he? <Meghan> Very nice to meet you Xarroch * Zoya chuckles and surreptitiously rubs the new bruise on her shoulder:: <Zoya> [kill the ::s on that, please...] <Tyl> ::blinks a few times:: Nice to meet you? I bet he doesn't hear that too often... ::grins:: <Xarroch> ::big grin:: You're not from around here, are you? * Meghan shakes her head <Meghan> Nope <Lisl> ::to Meghan:: Don't bother too much about those ending syllables... you'd have to spit blood to do it right, anyway, I'm told. <Xarroch> ::smiles at Tyl:: screaming and running are the more normal responses, but this isn't exactly a normal place. <Yohko> That's usually the cue to leave town in a hurry. * Meghan nods to Lisl <Lisl> ::grinning:: Like when Temire first met you... <Meghan> I guess I'm just getting used to ::pauses:: different things here. So I can hold my surprise in check <Xarroch> ::laughs:: I particularly enjoyed meeting you, Jaret, and Zoya as well. ::grins around room:: * Meghan nods <Xarroch> Aye, this is a place for very different things. It's refreshing. <Zoya> ::laughs:: I'm glad *you* enjoyed it. <Nacheyla> ::nods:: Very different. <Meghan> I would have to agree <Jaret> It was a... special occasion, Xarroch. * Xarroch grins at Zoya and Jaret <Xarroch> I still bitterly regret missing all the excitement. <Meghan> Do you not come around here very often Xarroch * Lisl chuckles as her mug sprouts a face and nods sage agreement with Nacheyla. <Xarroch> ::shrugs massively:: Ah, well.. there's plenty still to go around! ::turn to Nacheyla:: Another of those mule kick things. * Nacheyla pours Xarroch another mug of mule kick <Xarroch> ::looks thoughtful for a moment:: please? No wait, that goes *before*... * Meghan laughs softly <Nacheyla> It's "thank you" and you're welcome... <Xarroch> ::nods:: Ah yes, that's the one! * Meghan takes a drink of her wine <Lisl> ::chuckles:: Just spend a week eating dinner with Goody Bea... that would learn you manners in a hurry. <Xarroch> what's a Goody Bea? * Meghan laughs softly <Meghan> who not what <Lisl> ::swallowing a mouthful of kick:: She's not a what, she's a who. Tho' she *keeps* lots of whats...::grumbling a little under her breath:: She's one of the local Goodwives. Herbalism, birthing babies, that sort of thing. And she loves exotics. ::grinning:: She'd get a kick out of you, I'm sure. * Meghan nods <Meghan> I bet she would * Yohko smiles at Lisl, "What Lisl, don't you approve of Goody Bea's housemates?" <Xarroch> ::gets a big grin and looks at Lisl:: Cats? <Lisl> ::wincing:: You didn't have to *say* the word, Xarroch. <Xarroch> ::teasingly just loud enough to carry:: meow. ::toothy grin:: * Meghan laughs * Lisl looks decidedly sour and unamused. "I think I like your cat-in-a-blender imitation better, Xarroch. * Meghan shakes her head softly <Meghan> Nothin wrong with cats <Xarroch> hmmm... ::looks thoughtful for a moment:: You might like to play with some of the visitors I'm expecting. They're rather distinctly feline and make very satisfying noises when you squish them. <Jaret> Lisl, Lisl, Lisl... such jealousy doesn't become you. ::grinning:: <Lisl> Do you want a list, Meghan? ::turning to Xarroch:: I think I'd like that very much, Xarroch. <Lisl> Jealousy? You think I'm *jealous*, Jaret? Of WHAT? <Yohko> Hmm...It would be as interesting but maybe Felice could use some playmates. ::Glances at Lisl:: Then again, someone might get confused. <Lisl> ::looking innocent:: I'm rarely confused. <Xarroch> ::laughs and looks around to Jaret, Nacheyla, and Yohko:: Any of you interested, also? There should be plenty to go around... I'm willing to share. ;) <Jaret> Of cats, of course, Lisl dear. Their natural playfulness, individuality, and self-esteem. <Lisl> ::coughing:: Natural playfulness? ::shaking her head:: Jaret, Jaret, Jaret. How easily humans are deceived. Cats aren't "playful." They're the most vicious little monsters between the heavens and hells. Well, no, alright, there are gremlins... but cats run a close second. That cute fluffiness is a total front. * Xarroch chuckles * Meghan laughs <Meghan> I think they are sweet <Lisl> And individuality? Self esteem? Where do you think the term "copy-cat" COMES from, milord? And that's not self-esteem. That's pure, unmitigated, undeserved arrogance. <Yohko> I think she's just jealous that she can't have thirty of her playmates staying at her house. <Jaret> ::to Xarroch:: If you think you might enjoy company, I'd be happy to join in, but I don't usually squish things. It's just not me. <Lisl> Sweet, she says. ::her grumble is very close to a growl, and her voice drips with disgust:: CATS. <Xarroch> ::glances at Jaret's blade and grins:: I'd like to see you poke a few of them as well. <Jaret> Then I'll be happy to join in, if you'll have me. * Zoya laughs:: <Lisl> And that's another thing! They're not even properly housebroken! Why the devil do humans even *keep* them! They can't be trained, they only kill mice to leave them on your pillow, and they pee in your slippers and rip up your favorite bedspread with those... those... TALONS! And people think *I'm* dangerous! Just think what people are allowing to roam their houses at night, all unawares! <Yohko> Good thing Temire's out of town or else she'd want to come along as well. * Zoya laughs again <Tyl> ::makes a face:: I guess we all have our differences, Lisl... <Yohko> Next she's going to be talking about them sucking the breath out of you while you're asleep. <Lisl> ::shaking her head and taking a long draught of 'kick:: I said you shouldn't get me started... ::grumbling:: No one ever agrees with me... they've got all humankind fooled.... <Xarroch> Good to have you then, Jaret! <Xarroch> ::grins at Yohko:: I don't think little Temire is yet ready for the sort of play I have in mind... but I'm sure she'll have her chance. <Meghan> I don;t think I could bring myself to squish anything. Maybe another time when doing something else though Xarroch <Xarroch> ::gives Lisl his other mug of 'kick:: <Lisl> Thanks. ::downing half the mug in one swallow:: <Xarroch> ::grins at Meghan:: That's alright! The pickings are starting to look like they're getting stretched, now... I want a *least* a dozen to myself, and that may be difficult with how fast these two are. ::winks at Jaret and Lisl:: <Meghan> well I hope you all have fun <Lisl> ::grinning ferally:: Loads, I'm sure. * Xarroch laughs and makes a very similar grin <Lisl> ::suddenly biting her lip at an unpleasant memory:: Xarroch, you don't plan to... eat any of them, do you? * Meghan shivers a bt and drinks the rest of her wine <Meghan> [bit] <Xarroch> ::blinks:: What, you think I should let them all go to waste? <Lisl> ::looking slightly ill:: And I thought Dusty was sick.... <Xarroch> ::waves dismissively:: I can put leave off doing it... but I've seen you hunt, too. I can't understand why you'd be so squeamish. ::chuckles:: * Nacheyla looks around <Lisl> It's just... it's what they are. Some meat is food. Some... isn't. <Nacheyla> Last call... anyone need a drink refreshed? * Meghan pushes her empty glass towards Nacheyla <Meghan> I'm done thanks <Lisl> I'm fine, Nacheyla, thanks. <Lisl> It'd be like... like... ::pausing, groping for a concept that would be sufficiently disgusting to a demon and failing utterly:: * Jaret looks at his mostly full wine glass and has a healthy swallow. * Xarroch raises an eyebrow * Tyl looks up... <Tyl> Like kissing... * Meghan stands and reaches to make sure her book is in her pocket <Lisl> Kissing? <Meghan> Kissing? <Xarroch> kissing? <Tyl> ::grins in memory:: You should have seen his face... he walked in on Jel and I... <Tyl> You remember? <Xarroch> oh, *that* <Lisl> ::frowning:: Not quite the concept I was going for, but... okay. * Xarroch makes a face * Yohko pours another helping into her bowl and downs it, "So where and when are you expecting our guests Xarroch?" <Xarroch> Ahh, in just a couple of minutes in my new home. <Lisl> Oh, WELL... ::grinning at Tyl:: That would be enough to disgust *anyone*. I've seen you two go at it. <Meghan> Well I think I'm off to go home. * Xarroch looks thoughtful for a moment <Lisl> New home? You got a place in town, Xarroch? <Tyl> ::sticks her tongue out at Lisl:: <Xarroch> minutes? Not minutes... what are the other ones you use? <Jaret> Hours> <Jaret> ? <Lisl> See what I mean? She does that to Jel... close up. <Lisl> Seconds? Years? * Zoya seems to be biting the inside of her cheeks. * Xarroch makes a face again <Lisl> ::grinning:: <Yohko> What's up Zoya? <Zoya> ::grins at Yohko:: Oh, nothing... <Yohko> Doesn't look like nothing? <Meghan> Zoya I'll be sure to be over as soon as I get the stone back. <Zoya> ::laughs:: Just refraining from commenting on the discussion of the disgusting. <Xarroch> days! A couple of days... And not in town, no. Do you remember that chaos demi-plane where you all helped Jelarthna? I settled in there. ::grins:: <Zoya> :;to Meghan:: That would be great, Meghan. Come by any time. <Meghan> Night all ::turns to Xarroch:: Very nice meeting you Xarroch <Yohko> Night Meghan. <Jaret> You settled there? <Xarroch> ::nods to Meghan:: If you'd like I can look at that stone of yours sometime... I may have seen or heard of something like it. * Meghan nods <Lisl> G'night, Meghan, sleep sweet! <Xarroch> Aye. It's a nice little area. <Yohko> That place. Good, my acrobatics have needed the work out. <Tyl> Jelarthna's over at my home, Xarroch... I'm sure he'd be thrilled if you stopped by for a visit... ::laughs:: <Meghan> Sure I'll be sure to find you when I get it back * Meghan slips her hands into her pockets and heads to the door * Xarroch chuckles * Zoya yawns and stretches. "I should be getting home, myself." <Meghan> [pockets] <Lisl> More planes-hopping? ::thinking:: I think I missed that particular jaunt. <Zoya> ::drains the rest of her cider:: Good night, friends. <Tyl> I'm off... ::jumps off her stool and heads out:: <Lisl> G'night, Zoya. ::sudden thought:: Hey, where's Gloss this evening, anyway? <Xarroch> No, I don't think you were around for that particular episode... nor was I. * Xarroch waves to Tyl and Zoya <Xarroch> not until afterwards, anyway * Meghan heads out the door and into the night <Lisl> G'night, Tyl, take care, alright? <Yohko> So when and where's muster Xarroch? * Jaret finishes off his wine. "I should be heading home, also. I'm feeling rather tired tonight." <Xarroch> Shall we meet here in two days, then? When the sun is rising? <Lisl> Tired? You? Are you alright, Jaret? <Jaret> That sounds agreeable to me. Early, but agreeable. <Xarroch> Or we could meet near Zoya's Tower, but I'm not very comfortable there. * Zoya pauses on the threshold. "Glossaria? She's working on that assignment I gave her last week. She's become quite absorbed by it. Her other books are practically languishing." Zoya chuckles. <Yohko> Sounds good. ::Yohko takes her bottle and heads for the door.:: Goodnight everyone. <Zoya> ::glances at Xarroch:: No? Why is that? <Jaret> I'm fine, Lisl. Just mortal, and not blessed with the overactive fortitude that others possess. ::he smiles:: Good night, everyone. <Lisl> ::nodding:: Sounds good to me. ::grinning:: I'll bring the water buckets. * Xarroch stretches out again a bit, and pulls out a large, exotic looking gold coin and sets it on the counter <Lisl> ::chuckles:: Good. I hope she doesn't get too, um, obsessed. I mean, look how the sex research turned out. <Xarroch> ::shrugs:: I'm not sure. Probably something to do with your Erdian. * Jaret pushes the wine glass back across the bar. "Good night, everyone." <Xarroch> ::looks around:: this place is similar but more welcoming. <Nacheyla> ::makes a face:: Don't remind me... I've had several frantic letters from Vallel's mother recently. <Zoya> ::to Xarroch:: Ah, that could be. ::she grins:: I forget it's technically holy ground, sometimes. ::to Lisl, laughing:: I think she'll be okay. One way or another. <Zoya> Good night! <Lisl> ::chuckles:: Well, I *could* fix that for you, Jaret, but I doubt either of us would like it. <Xarroch> ::grins around and nods to everyone:: See in two minutes, then! ::squeezes out the door, the faint sound of flapping fading into the distance a few moments later:: * Lisl finishes her second mug of 'kick in more leisurely fashion, setting it on the floor and patting its behind. <Jaret> You're quite right, Lisl. <Jaret> ::heads out the door, putting his plumed hat back on as he exits:: <Lisl> ::calling after him:: Days, Xarroch! ::shaking her head:: Demons. <Nacheyla> Have a good evening, Lisl... <Lisl> Ah, well. Good night, Nacheyla. ::taking her cloak and heading off into the night:: * Nacheyla sighs, blows out the lights, and locks up. |
