* Michelle unlocks the door and announces, "Hall's Open!" * Tyl comes in, dressed in her "working" clothes and muttering under her breath <Tyl> Good evening Michelle. Rum, please. ::plonks down on a stool:: * Michelle returns behind the bar. She's wearing a undyed skirt and sweater over a white blouse. Her moon ear ring shines from her right ear. * Meghan walks into the Hall and takes a seat at the bar looking a bit worn out * Michelle places a few ice cubes in a glass, pours a few fingers of rum and then sets the glass and the bottle in front of Tyl. <Meghan> Things not going well Tyl'gainia? <Tyl> Thanks, 'chelle... <Meghan> Wine Meghan? <Tyl> ::waves a parchment around:: I had to go rescue my building permits. * Meghan nods <Meghan> Please * Jelarthna glides in and looks around with a small smile * Goody Beatrice enters, dressed again in plain dark homespun trimmed (accidentally) in cat hair. A ginger cat wanders in at her heels. <Tyl> My brother, in his wondrous efforts to get me disbanded, managed to convince some of these idiots around here that I'm consorting with demons and all... <Jelarthna> ::small mutter:: it's been too long... * Jelarthna quickly holds the door open got Goody Bea * Michelle pours a glass of wine and hands it to Meghan, "Bui..." Michelle goes quiet as she sees Jelarthna enter. <Tyl> ::coughs:: Well, it's not like that hasn't happened, but... ::gasps:: JEL! ::flings herself off her stool, knocking it over and pouncing on Jelarthna:: <Goody Beatrice> Why thank you, young man, it's-- ack! ::stepping quickly out of the way, drawing her skirts aside as Jel is pounced upon:: <Meghan> Thanks Michelle * Jelarthna barely catches Tyl and totters for a moment before toppling over backwards and the air rushes out of him with a whoosh <Jelarthna> ::hugs Tyl and tries to smile and catch his breath:: <Tyl> ::grins and props herself up on her elbows, winking:: Well, I know you missed me and all, but I don't think the floor of the Hall is all that appropriate for this sort of thing, do you? * Meghan smiles at Tyl and Jelarthna * Goody Beatrice smiles a bit as the ginger cat, looking mildly affronted, pauses to allow Jel and Tyl to crash to the earth before stepping daintily over them. * Jelarthna blushes furiously and break into a small coughing fit * Tyl leaps nimbly to her feet and extends a hand down to Jel. <Meghan> Hey we've had people die on it before, why not? * Meghan takes a small sip of her wine and nods to Bea <Meghan> Good evening miss Bea <Meghan> Good evening Goody Beatrice, Jelarthna. How are you both this fine evening? <Jelarthna> ::manages a small laugh and accepts Tyl's help in getting up, a big smile plastered on his face:: Good to see you too! * Vallel walks onto the Hall, his nose buried in another musty-looking book <Meghan> Now to see if Vallel's learned Zoya's trick. * Meghan smiles and her face brightens upon seeing Val * Jelarthna walks to the bar with Tyl, noticing her rum and heading to stand us both by it, extending a smile to Meghan and Michelle * Vallel navigates around the clots of people, nearly steps on the ginger colored cat, and runs into the bar before sitting down. <Goody Beatrice> Ah. ::shaking her head:: Young love. ::approaching the bar and giving Meghan a nod in return:: I'm well enough this evening, Mistress Michelle. Is there perhaps a mug of ale back there you could spare me? ::hefting herself up onto a stool, her knees creaking slightly in protest:: <Jelarthna> Good to see you both again too! * Jelarthna shoots a slightly embarrassed grin at Goody Beatrice * Meghan returns Jelarthna's smile <Meghan> Evening * Michelle fills a mug with ale and sets it before the Goody, "Anyone else?" <Vallel> Good evening Mistress Michelle... can I get a Ginger beer? <Jelarthna> Feywine please, Michelle? <Meghan> Hey Val ::quickly pulls him into a hug and then let's go:: <Meghan> Certainly. ::Michelle fills a mug and sets it on the bar in front of Vallel.:: Just don't spill it on the book. * Jelarthna notices Vallel and smiles again, offering his hand * Goody Beatrice smiles her thanks and lifts her mug, blowing foam from the top before drinking deep. <Jelarthna> Good to see you again, Vallel. <Vallel> Oh, hey Meghan.. ::takes a sip of ginger beer:: * Michelle pours a glass of wine and sets it in front of Jelarthna. <Vallel> Master Jelarthna ::flickers an eye at his teacher for a long, sly look:: How nice to see you again. ::closes his book:: I don't think I'm going to be getting much work done. * Jelarthna chuckles * Jelarthna smiles his thanks to Michelle <Tyl> You know, Vallel, you don't have to study *all* the time. * Meghan takes another sip of her wine <Meghan> Leave him alone Tyl'gainia. He needs something to due while Glossaria's way. <Meghan> oh he doesn't Tyl ::winks at Val:: <Jelarthna> How have you been, Michelle? ::small frown:: I've been so busy... I haven't managed to come by for so long... <Tyl> ::makes a face:: Well, I don't want him burning himself out over this... no pun intended, of course... * Goody Beatrice settles back, leaning against the bar and letting the ginger cat jump into her lap as she watches the byplay between patrons with wide, interested eyes. * Jelarthna chuckles and puts an arm around Tyl as he takes a sip of the wine <Meghan> Excepting having Yohko's apprentice killed and then her ghost kidnapped before I could resurrected her and my husband destroying my house I've been fair. I should probably box your ears for being gone so long without at least sending us a letter, but I suspect Tyl'gainia will take care of that for me. * Alranis slips through the door, and takes his customary place at the bar. * Michelle turns to Alranis, "Weider's?" * Jelarthna blinks in some surprise at Michelle <Jelarthna> What? <Meghan> You met Temire didn't you? * Alranis nods, grinning as he rasps, "Of course, but only if you've got some at hand." <Vallel> Actually, I'm just about done studying for exams, Mistress Tyl... ::grins eagerly:: Meghan helps me practice some. * Michelle fills a mug and sets it in front of Alranis. <Jelarthna> Yes, I remember Temire well... a very nice girl. <Meghan> Val I was talking with Jaret about practicing dancing. Gloss probably won't be around to practice and I was wondering if you wanted to or not? <Meghan> ::nods to Tyl:: as much as I can anyways * Michelle smiles slyly at Vallel, "Oh...Should I tell Glossaria about this 'practice' the two of you have been having?" * Meghan laughs softly <Vallel> Definitely ::blushes:: I'm not sure if I'm a very good dancer for these city dances. I've had some country practice and all, but nothing at all like rich merchant daughters are going to be expecting.... * Goody Beatrice smiles and nods to the nice older gentleman she met last week. * Alranis takes a sip. <Meghan> Ok. NExt time you see Jaret arrange a time with him and let me know when you want to get together <Tyl> Dance? What dance? <Goody Beatrice> ::piping up:: Ah, are you young people going to the monthly ball, then? How nice! <Jelarthna> ::looks over at Alranis:: Oh! Hello, Alranis, how have you been? <Jelarthna> Dance? ::ears perk up a little:: * Alranis shrugs. "Getting by..." * Jelarthna laughs slightly at Al's response <Jelarthna> As forthcoming as always, I see.. ::grins:: <Vallel> Assembly Ball... Meghan and Lord Jaret are going, and I'm escorting my betrothed <Meghan> Well Temire ran afoul of a vampire that was living in the upscale part of town. We managed to recover her body and her ghost, but then my husband, you should have been burning in eternal pits of hellfire trapped her ghost in a mirror before I could resurrect her. We finally got the mirror and the spell to release Temire, but then my husband and Yamato attacked while I was resurrecting Temire and destroyed my house. <Meghan> Fortunately Lisl was around and kept them busy until I'd finished the resurrection. <Meghan> ::to Jel:: You and Tyl should come * Jelarthna looks thoughtfully down at Tyl after hearing about the Ball <Tyl> ::grins up at Jel:: I can't remember the last time I went dancing... <Jelarthna> burning in Hell? Been there... Want me to take him? <Jelarthna> ::smiles down at Tyl:: come to think of it, I don't think we've even danced together... that could be fun! <Tyl> No, she doesn't. You could stay here for a few weeks, *maybe*, don't you think... <Jelarthna> ::to Michelle:: so.. how is Temire now? <Goody Beatrice> ::listening to the conversation between Michelle and Jel, her ears practically twitching:: Oh... my. You've *been* to the nether reaches, young man? <Meghan> Actually, if he was still around I'd ask Xarroch to take make a few introductions for him. I just hope I don't have to kill him a third time. <Jelarthna> ::blinks and nods soberly to Goody Beatrice:: Yes... more than once. <Jelarthna> a *third* time? <Tyl> ::glares at Jel briefly:: well, you don't need to go again right away. You can at least stick around until my sister's baby is born. <Meghan> Better than ever, though I think she even more frightened of Lisl's mother than she is of vampires. <Jelarthna> ::to Tyl:: I plan to stay, love... I need a break.. and.. well. ::smiles at Tyl and leans down to give her a little kiss:: I miss you <Vallel> ::mouths something at Meghan:: * Meghan smiles warmly at Jel and Tyl <Jelarthna> ::to Michelle:: from what little I've heard Lisl's mother is far more dangerous than vampires... * Jelarthna sees Meg's smile and returns it <Meghan> I killed him at the altar, and then again after I'd resurrected Temire. ::Thinks for a moment:: Actually, I think Temire and Lisl killed him. It's a little vague, what with having spent the evening throwing around high power magic. * Meghan shakes her head slightly at Val still smiling <Meghan> Yes, well I don't think Temire was afraid of her until it was decided that Temire would spend six months studying under her. <Goody Beatrice> Good heavens. ::frowning:: You're not talking about Milady Ferinsdottir, are you? How could you say such a thing about such a sweet, kind woman! And you an elf, too. ::tsk, tsk:: <Tyl> ::snerts her rum back into her glass:: <Jelarthna> ::nods to Michelle:: battle with that much magic flying can be very confusing... ::small shiver:: * Meghan sips her wine <Jelarthna> ::gives Goody Beatrice a small bow:: My apologies if I have offended your sensibilities, ma'am. I have to admit my knowledge of her is only hearsay. <Jelarthna> ::turns back to Michelle:: So is that where Temire is now? studying? <Vallel> Heh... You should have seen her costume the other week ::shudders:: that woman has a really strange sense of humor <Jelarthna> ::cocks an eyebrow at Vallel:: You haven't met Yb, have you? ::grin:: <Goody Beatrice> ::sniffing:: Well, that's as it may be, for listening to gossip. I only know her professionally, mind you, and what I know from her girl Lisl, but she's a fine, upright woman, by my lights. <Vallel> Oh yes... beautiful woman... she wanted to dance with me... ::sighs:: I'm told she's completely insane but she seemed mostly all right the night I met her <Meghan> Yes. Yohko will probably go and ambush her in a few weeks just to keep her on her toes. <Jelarthna> ::to Goody Beatrice:: I hope you'll forgive me, then... I have several friends here and word of many things tends to travel among us.. these are people I have trusted with more than my life, so I tend to trust their words as well. <Jelarthna> ::chuckles at Vallel:: You're lucky, then... * Jelarthna chuckles again at Michelle's comment <Jelarthna> ::smiles over at Meg again:: SO how is your adapting going? You seem much more comfortable than you were before, I'm glad to note. <Goody Beatrice> ::looking Jel up and down:: Well enough, I accept your apology, lad. But mind you, reputation is one thing to go on, prejudice and slander is another. ::grinning a little:: I'd hate to see a fine lad such as yourself live out his days on a lily pad because of a few hasty words. * Alranis sips his beer. * Meghan nods to Jel <Meghan> Things are going very well. Val and Jaret have been spending lots of time helping me adjust. Michelle and Gloss too. I'm very lucky to have met such wonderful people <Jelarthna> ::bows again to Goody Beatrice:: Thank you kinda, and I shall take heed of your words. ::grins back:: Though a few days on a lily pad might be fairly relaxing. <Tyl> I'm not kissing any frogs, no matter what those old stories say... * Meghan laughs at TylÕs comment <Jelarthna> ::smiles at Meghan:: Well.... ::looks around:: you *did* come to the right place. :leans a little closer with a sideways glace at Vallel:: Jaret and Jaret junior haven't been too much trouble, have they? ::winks:: * Jelarthna laughs at Tyl * Meghan shakes her head smiling <Jelarthna> Ribbit! ;) <Meghan> Val has become like a brother to me ::places her hand on Val's arm gently:: I don't know what I'd do without him <Vallel> ::blush:: <Jelarthna> ::raises an eyebrow and smiles at them both:: well, good! <Vallel> Anyone would have done the same for you... ::takes a hasty sip of ginger beer:: <Goody Beatrice> ::leaning over the bar and whispering a question to Michelle, before taking herself off to the loo:: <Jelarthna> ::grins:: Anyone here, anyway. ::chuckles at Val's embarrassment:: <Meghan> ::runs her fingers through Val's hair messing it up:: But they wouldn't have been nearly as much fun <Tyl> ::grins:: He's a good kid... * Meghan nods at Tyl <Jelarthna> ::looks at Meg and Val thoughtfully, then gets distracted by Tyl and smiles happily at her:: How could he not be with you teaching him? <Tyl> Actually, some of my students are absolute monsters... ::makes a face:: * Jelarthna chuckles <Tyl> ::glares at Vallel:: And don't you *dare* repeat that! * Meghan laughs * Jelarthna gets a mischievous grin * Meghan points to Jel <Meghan> You might want to tell him that to Tyl * Jelarthna winks at Meghan * Meghan grins back * Jelarthna quickly takes a sip of his wine <Meghan> Can't be any worse than some of Zoya's students Tyl'gainia. ::Michelle smiles mischieviously at Tyl and Jel.:: <Jelarthna> ::sputters a little:: Hey now! ::mock glares at Michelle:: * Meghan laughs <Jelarthna> ::looks around:: Speaking of Zoya, where is she keeping herself? I looked for her at the Tower the other day. <Jelarthna> I was hoping she'd be here tonight... <Tyl> She's off on her ship <Jelarthna> her ship? <Tyl> The one that sails between worlds * Meghan finishes off her glass of wine <Jelarthna> ::blinks and looks a bit crestfallen:: The Spelljammer! <Tyl> She and Glossaria and Lisl all went 'jamming * Jelarthna sighs <Tyl> I'm going to teleport onto the ship next week to pick Glossaria up for the dance. <Jelarthna> ::looks a little dubious:: Can you do that safely? I don't know much about spelljammer, but normally trying to teleport onto something moving is a dubious prospect at best with magic... * Goody Beatrice returns from the ladies' room and perches again on her stool. <Meghan> Michelle could I get a glass of water please <Tyl> It's not that hard. I put a beacon on the ship before they left. * Goody Beatrice sips her ale. <Vallel> ::looks interested:: I can't teleport yet ::said softly to Meghan:: <Jelarthna> a beacon, hmm? ::looks thoughtful:: WEll I'll trust you to know your own abilities, and I'm not stupid enough to tell you to be careful. ::grins: * Michelle fills a mug and sets it on the bar in front of Meghan. * Meghan nods to him <Meghan> Seems a bit complicated. I bet you'll get it quickly though <Goody Beatrice> Teleportation, spellships... pardon me, but... why waste spells on a ship, when wind propels them handily enough? <Meghan> Thanks Michelle <Jelarthna> ::to Val:: I *will* tell you to be careful, though... teleporting is tricky business, even with a lot of experience and a very good memory.. <Jelarthna> ::looks thoughtful, then addresses Goody Beatrice:: Hmm... It's a different sort of travel... the seas a spelljamming ship travels can only be reached by the use of magic. <Jelarthna> I'm afraid it's not something I know much about.. ::rueful grin:: and why I'm disappointed I wasn't here to go with them. <Tyl> ::peers down at the parchments on the bar:: I wonder if I could get Xarroch to speak for me at one of these council meetings and say I'm not feeding him any of my students... <Goody Beatrice> ::frowning in puzzlement:: I'm Marsembrian born, lad, I've lived on the edge of the sea all m'life... you're telling me there's more kinds of sea than that out there? ::waving her hand in the direction of the docks:: <Jelarthna> ::chuckles at Tyl and squeezes her shoulders comfortingly:: they might well leave you along for a while after that, but iot would likely do more harm than good. <Meghan> Well I grew up on stories about the "Sea of Stars" which is not the same sort of thing as the "Sea of Fallen Stars." <Jelarthna> ::to Goody Beatrice:: Yes... There are places one can sail that we cannot really see.. ::a little wistfully:: <Tyl> ::sighs:: I know, but you know, telling them that Nilgarthor was trying to turn himself into an evil dragon isn't going to convince them either. They all think I had him... well, put out of the way... * Meghan sips her water <Jelarthna> don't worry dear... you'll get through this okay. I would help, but I don't have a very good history with the authorities here. ::rueful grin:: * Vallel peers into his book for a while <Goody Beatrice> ::frowning thoughtfully, putting her finger on her nose:: Lawks! I almost didn't recognize you in those leathers, dearie... you're the Schoolmistress to that new Psionics school, aren't you? <Tyl> ::nods:: I am. I'm sorry... I don't believe I caught your name. I was distracted. Tyl'gainia Nightstorm at your service ::bows floridly:: <Meghan> You could always get Zoya to vouch for you, but if memory serves the clergy weren't too happy about her opening a new temple, and the wizard's guild wasn't too happy about having another chaos mage in residence. <Jelarthna> ::looks a bit shocked at himself:: Oh my, where are my manners? ::bows as extravagantly as Tyl to Goody Beatrice:: I am Jelarthna. <Jelarthna> No, they weren't too thrilled about that.. or the gnomes for that matter. <Goody Beatrice> ::putting a hand to her mouth and giggling at the extravagant bow before dropping a small courtesy herself:: Goodwife Beatrice. But most in town just call me Goody Bea. <Jelarthna> ::smiles brightly:: A pleasure to meet you, Goody Bea. <Tyl> A pleasure, I'm sure ::grins:: <Goody Beatrice> ::shaking her head and tsking:: The mage's guild is giving you difficulties, then? Stuffed shirts, the lot of them. I remember half of them in short pants... they certainly weren't so high-and-mighty *then*, I can tell you! * Jelarthna laughs <Tyl> The mage's guild loathes me. I don't really know why... it's not like most magically inclined people can use psionics. <Goody Beatrice> ::dryly:: That's it precisely, dearie. <Tyl> ::blinks:: I'm sure I don't understand. I would think they'd dislike me more if I was stealing their potential students or something. <Meghan> Simple Tyl'gainia. They have a monopoly and they don't want anyone interfering with it. If they let you start a psionics academy, people might start hiring psionics to do things for them rather than mages. <Jelarthna> ::chuckle:: Some people, especially those with power, get very jealous of power they don't have sometimes... even better if they don't even *understand* it... <Vallel> ::coughs:: not like you're above stealing other things once in a while... * Meghan sits back listening to the conversation <Goody Beatrice> Aye, but you have power they don't-- and can't! ::nods sage agreement with Jel:: * Jelarthna cocks an eyebrow at Vallel * Vallel grins innocently at Jelarthna. * Jelarthna considers Vallel thoughtfully for a moment, then grins and shakes his head at something, "maybe later..." * Meghan looks curiously between Jel and Val <Tyl> I mean, if I was as... morally impaired as they think... I haven't harmed anyone with psionics for years. <Goody Beatrice> ::raising an eyebrow:: "For years"? Meaning you have? <Tyl> Well, yes... and I'm so positive that none of the mage's council ever would think about using Flaming Hands against someone, or Magic Missile... <Jelarthna> ::squeezes Tyl:: They don't and won't understand... but hopefully you can force some modicum of grudging respect from them.. that will be a huge step in and of itself <Vallel> You're being cynical again, Mistress ::not looking up from his book:: <Goody Beatrice> ::grinning and taking another swig of ale:: If you want my advice, girl, not that you asked it, I'd say just ignore 'em. They've no respect for my profession, either, but they know the townsfolk respect me. And after all, I've whacked enough of their bare backsides in my day. * Jelarthna takes another long sip of the Feywine, savoring the flavor <Jelarthna> ::chuckles:: And what do you do, Goody Bea? <Tyl> ::grins:: And what it is... ::grins at Jel:: Hey, I thought I was supposed to read *your* mind, not the other way around? * Jelarthna laughs <Goody Beatrice> Herbalist, lad. And one of the local midwives. <Tyl> Oh... well, that's useful to know. My sister's coming into town soon to have her baby... maybe you could preside? <Jelarthna> Ahhh! A very difficult profession indeed. I don't envy you, but I'm sure you're much appreciated. ::smiles:: <Meghan> Hmm...Maybe I'll bring Temire back for that. If it's alright with you Goody Beatrice. <Goody Beatrice> ::grinning:: Most of the effort isn't mine, lad. And you'd do well to remember that, next time you give your lass a roll in the hay. * Jelarthna blushes furiously <Jelarthna> yes, ma'am! <Tyl> ::rolls her eyes:: Cwally's forty-three years younger than I am, but I don't know anything about babies. <Goody Beatrice> ::spreading her hands:: I'd be delighted to aid your sister, and I've no trouble with onlookers as long as the mother doesn't mind. And 'long as they stay out from underfoot and make themselves useful. <Jelarthna> it will be nice to see Cwal again, too. <Jelarthna> Last time I saw her I was frantically searching for you, so I didn't really stop to visit long. heh * Meghan stands and stretches covering a yawn with her hand <Meghan> I think I need to be getting to bed. <Goody Beatrice> Forty-- ::raising both eyebrows, and giving Tyl a hard look:: Ach, I always forget how you people age. <Tyl> ::grins:: it has its benefits sometimes... * Meghan leaves a few coins on the bar <Jelarthna> ::smiles at Meghan:: Well I hope I'll get to see and chat with you some more soon. It's good to see you fitting in and happy here. * Meghan smiles and nods to Jel <Jelarthna> ::chuckles at Goody Beatrice:: We sometimes forget ourselves... <Vallel> ::sticks his finger in his book:: Want me to walk with you? <Goody Beatrice> ::waving cheerily to Meghan:: 'Night, lass, sweet dreams. <Meghan> It was good to see you again to. I am usually around and look forward to bumping into you later. <Meghan> Goodnight Meghan. Have a safe trip home. * Meghan smiles and nods to Val * Michelle puts the coins in the strong box. <Meghan> Of course * Jelarthna waves goodbye to Meghan <Meghan> Night Michelle. Thanks ::smiles:: <Meghan> Night Bea <Vallel> ::offers his arm to Meghan:: I had been planning on asking Mistress Tyl some questions about the practical, but I think she'll want me out from underfoot this evening. ::grins:: * Goody Beatrice sips her ale. <Vallel> ::drops a silver on the bar:: * Meghan smiles at Val <Meghan> Very thoughtful of you * Tyl sticks her tongue out at Vallel... "Rascal." * Jelarthna chuckles * Meghan walks out into the night chatting quietly with Val * Michelle drops the coin in the strong box and ushers the mug and wine glass into the kitchen. * Jelarthna finishes his wine <Goody Beatrice> ::watches the mug and wine glass leave, smiling delightedly:: I don't think I'll ever get used to that sight.... <Jelarthna> ::laughs lightly:: It's always amusing, isn't it? ::tickles his wineglass lightly:: <Tyl> ::grins:: I guess I'll have to buy a dress if we're going to this dance with all the young people... <Jelarthna> Would you like me to come with you? I know some of the better tailors in town. ::smiles:: <Tyl> That might be nice. I have the green dress, the one that horrid servant of my grandfather's bought for me, but that's about it. <Goody Beatrice> ::smiling:: Indulge yourself with a fine one, dearie. This ball's always been an excuse for people to be at their most extravagant. ::chuckling:: The Dragons even bring their epaulets out of the cedar chest. <Jelarthna> ::laughs:: I remember that dress! It wasn't so bad. <Tyl> ::laughs:: I feel a bit strange with my chest all exposed like that. <Jelarthna> oooo.. epaulets! ::grins:: <Jelarthna> ::small blush:: <Goody Beatrice> You see? Even the gentlemen get excited over clothes for this. <Tyl> Vallel's a big fan of clothing too. Or a big fan of Jaret and by default gets into his haberdashery... <Jelarthna> ::laughs and smiles down at Tyl:: not that she isn't always lovely... <Goody Beatrice> ::chuckling:: Lord Malkier? He is quite the clotheshorse, isn't he? <Jelarthna> Haberdashery? heh heh. It *will* be interesting to see Jaret and Junior there. <Jelarthna> .me nods, grinning at Goody Beatrice * Jelarthna nods, grinning at Goody Beatrice <Tyl> ::smiles:: thank you, dear. ::touches her black hair which is now lightly greyed:: Although I think I should color my hair over. <Goody Beatrice> Junior? ::looking puzzled:: I wasn't aware Lord Malkier had any children... <Tyl> ::laughs:: No, Vallel imitates Lord Malkier all the time. <Jelarthna> ::laughs:: I refer to Vallel that way sometimes... he really took to emulating Jaret. ::grin:: <Jelarthna> ::runs his fingers through Tyl's hair:: Why? <Goody Beatrice> Heh. Ah, I see, then. ::smiling and finishing off her mug of ale:: <Tyl> I feel old with my hair all grey like this... <Jelarthna> ::smiles at Tyl merrily:: if anyone looks at you and thinks old, then more the fools they.. and it will mean I'll get to dance with you more myself. ::grin:: <Goody Beatrice> ::smiles and runs her hand over her iron-grey bun:: Think of them as marks of distinction, dearie. With your students, I doubt not you've earned them. * Jelarthna nods at Goody Beatrice brightly <Tyl> ::touches her hair:: this is all recent... between dealing with the ::makes a weird noise like a cat and a set of bagpipes in a blender:: and my brother's little reunion... <Goody Beatrice> ::grinning a little wider:: And with that one, too. ::pointing her chin in Jel's direction:: * Jelarthna shudders at the noise and nods <Goody Beatrice> Sorry, dear, I didn't quite catch that name? ::cocking her head:: <Tyl> It's not important... I'm sure I didn't say it right anyway... <Jelarthna> You were close.. and it takes a lot of practice and throat healing to get it right... * Michelle looks around, "Last call folks." <Goody Beatrice> Well enough. ::nodding to herself:: Such adventures you lot have... well, I'd best be off, myself, and bring these old bones off to bed to sleep while I may. ::shaking her head:: None are due at the moment, but I've three young mothers in childbed, and the first is always early.... * Jelarthna nods at Michelle and sets down a small purse on the counter by the empty wine glass <Tyl> ::nods:: well, it was certainly nice to meet you. <Jelarthna> ::bows to Goody Beatrice again:: Indeed it was! I hope we see you here again soon, Goody Bea. ::smiling warmly:: <Goody Beatrice> ::dropping another curtsey as she slides off the stool and eases herself to the ground:: Nice to meet you as well. ::looking around the Hall:: It's been some time since I've come here regular-like... perhaps I'll take it up again. <Meghan> Goodnight Goody Beatrice, have a safe trip home. <Jelarthna> ::looks curious:: long time...? You used to come here before? <Goody Beatrice> Good night, children, peace and sweet dreams. ::dropping a few silvers on the bar:: <Goody Beatrice> Oh, aye, many years agone... under Master Sealgair himself. <Jelarthna> ::looks a little surprised and pleased:: A good man... I'd definitely love to chat with you some more, then! <Jelarthna> Keep well, Goody Beatrice. <Goody Beatrice> ::shaking her head:: Grave doings back then, too. ::with a twinkle in her eye:: It's always an adventure to come here. * Jelarthna chuckles and nods <Tyl> ::finishes off her rum:: Mind if I take the bottle, Michelle? <Jelarthna> and always worth it... ::smiles at Tyl:: <Meghan> Go ahead Tyl'gainia. As much money as Jelarthna drops every time he comes in here we could buy several cases. * Jelarthna grins at Michelle <Goody Beatrice> Well enough, I'd best be off. Goodnight, then. Come along, you. ::this last addressed to the ginger cat, who is rubbing her back against a stool leg:: <Tyl> Shall we? I finally have the house fixed... ::grins at Jelarthna:: * Jelarthna steps over to open the door for Goody Beatrice <Goody Beatrice> Thank you, lad. So polite. ::giving him a blinding sweet smile as she bundles up and trots out the door, the cat following as almost an afterthought:: <Jelarthna> gladly, Tyl! ::gives a spritely wave and partial bow to Michelle while holding the door open:: Goodnight, Michelle. * Jelarthna offers Tyl his arm <Jelarthna> nice lady... ::smiles:: * Tyl takes Jel's arm, tucks the rum under her other arm and winks at Michelle. * Jelarthna walks out with Tyl, closing the door behind him * Michelle shakes her head at Tyl and mutters something about champagne. * Michelle shoos the rest of the dishes into the kitchen, dims the lamps, and locks the door. |
