* Michelle opens the door and announces, "Hall's Open!"

* Michelle returns behind the bar. She is wearing a simple blue skirt with a light blue blouse embroidered in a white floral pattern.

* Nacheyla wanders into the Hall, brushing some white dust from her black shirt.

* Adiethian walks into the Hall. He's in plain clothes, his unadorned long sword hanging at his side. "Good evening... Michelle? How are you this evening?"

<Nacheyla> Ah, Mistress Michelle... am I late? I'm sorry, I ran into some problems this evening on the way in to work...

<Michelle> I'm fine Adiethian. What can I get you this evening?

<Adiethian> A dark ale would be fine, please.

<Nacheyla> ::the small golden star which rotates around her head seems unusually hyperactive this evening, spinning and bobbing furiously.::

<Michelle> Don't worry about it, Nacheyla. Trooper Adiethian, this is Nacheyla, our newest barkeep.

<Nacheyla> Good evening, sir. ::bobs a quick courtesy::

* Michelle proceeds to pour Adiethian his ale and places it on the bar in front of him.

<Adiethian> Good evening, Nacheyla. ::spies her bladeless hilt, quietly quips:: Interesting.

* Adiethian takes his ale and has a sip. "Excellent."

<Nacheyla> ::touches her hilt briefly:: I always thought so. She does not exist in the same world as we...

* Michelle shakes her head and smiles.

* Alranis slips into the Hall and quietly sidles up to the bar, keeping some distance from the others present.

<Michelle> Nacheyla, can I get you anything to drink? Alranis, you'll be wanting Weider's, correct?

<Nacheyla> Beer, please... a nice dark one... ::grins::

* Michelle pours Nacheyla's beer and places it on the bar in front of her.

* Nacheyla drinks her beer

* Alranis nods to Michelle as he eyes Adiethian somewhat sidelong.

* Michelle pours a mug of Weider's for Alranis and sets in on the bar in front of him.

* Alranis takes a sip, and rasps "Thanks."

* Nacheyla takes off her cloak and examines it. There is a long tear down the back, just over the left shoulder.

<Nacheyla> Ack... bastard marked me...

* Michelle blinks at Nacheyla, "Professional troubles?"

* Adiethian suggests to Nacheyla, "If you don't want to mend that yourself, you might want to look up Maeli. I don't know if she's still active, but at the least she could recommend someone reputable who could sew it up good as new."

<Michelle> So, Adiethian, did anything ever come of that Beastmaster incident?

<Nacheyla> Just a spot. I fear my reputation has proceeded me again. I don't know what it is about it, but they always seem to want to take the first blow...

<Adiethian> Nothing that I've been briefed on. And since the brigands all were willing to confess or at least inform on dozens of their comrades in arms, the trial process was fairly speedy.

<Michelle> There are a lot of argument in support of a preemptive strike. Mostly though it depends on your estimates of the relative strengths.

<Michelle> Didn't I read that you were investigating the death of that Viscount?

<Nacheyla> Yes, I agree. ::swigs her beer:: However, you'd think they could do a better job at it. All things considered, now I'm angry and I'm going to track him down first. Amateurs. Bah!

<Adiethian> Yes. Several of his servants fled the area the night he passed on, and those that stuck around are telling some rather unusual stories. I'm under orders to gather as much information as I can and try to figure out exactly what might have happened, if anything.

* Michelle shrugs, "Most ignorant individuals find it easier to strike out at something than to fully consider the implications of a situation."

<Michelle> What kind of unusual stories? They saying that his ghost was wandering around eating mint jelly or something?

<Nacheyla> Of course, now I need to find out who our amateur was working for... the dead don't talk much, you know... ::grins::

<Nacheyla> Ghost? ::perks up::

<Michelle> A joke Nacheyla. I was just curious as to what would make servants flee the night their master died. Most likely the heir is a terror and they all knew it.

<Adiethian> No. His doorman claims that the doors burst open and a gust of wind blew through the room like a searching spirit. His housekeeper says that one of the windows that she locked was opened and left open. And his valet said that when he went to see to his master... well, let's just say it's a little much to believe.

<Nacheyla> Ah... ::sighs:: It's been a good while since I've dealt with a ghost... Vampires and Liches seem to be all the rage these days.

* Michelle smiles at Nacheyla, "You definitely need to meet Tyl'gainia."

<Adiethian> And so far, actually, we've been unable to contact his spirit. The priests say that his spirit is uncommonly reluctant to answer to their calls. We're hoping to summon him despite that, and find out what happened, but with the expenses involved, it's a means of last resort.

* Michelle thinks for a moment, "That is an unusual story. But what does the valet say?"

<Adiethian> I'd really rather not discuss that, Lady Michelle. I trust in you and your acquaintances, of course, but the walls do sometimes have ears, and I'm not going to take any chances with letting certain things slip. I hope you understand.

<Nacheyla> ::looks at Michelle:: People keep saying that... she seems to be out of town, at the moment.

* Michelle smiles at Adiethian, "I understand completely."

* Alranis sips his beer.

<Michelle> Yes, Tyl'gainia is currently attending her sister's wedding in Waterdeep. I'm not really certain when she'll be back.

<Nacheyla> I'm patient... I'll wait. I think she and I have a lot to discuss. ::smiles::

* Adiethian sips some more of his ale.

<Adiethian> But as for the heir, the late Viscount left no heir. Actually, he didn't leave too much of an estate behind him, either.

<Michelle> So does the city take possession of the estate or does it get divided up amongst third cousins or something?

<Nacheyla> hmmm... I could use a more permanent residence... ::grins::

* Alranis sips his beer.

<Adiethian> Currently, the estate is being held in trust by the city while a search for an heir progresses. If none can be found, I believe that most of it would be sold at auction.

<Michelle> Tyl'gainia would probably appreciate the company. Particularly with her pest problem. Though that might change if Jelarthna ever gets his head on straight.

<Nacheyla> Pest problem?

<Michelle> Vampires.

<Nacheyla> Friends of hers?

<Michelle> Only if your definition of friendship includes trying to kill each other.

* Aldis strides confidently into the Meade Hall: an elven woman of about middle age, with long, silver hair done up in an intricate braid on top of her head, ice-blue eyes, dressed in fine yet serviceable travel clothing.

<Nacheyla> She's being hunted by them? Or hunting them? I was given the impression by Lisl that she was in league with them...

<Michelle> Good evening ma'am. Can I get you anything?

<Michelle> They're definitely hunting her. I think it had something to do with a book, but I'm not certain.

* Adiethian sips some more ale.

* Michelle smiles, "Lisl likes to make things sound more interesting than they actually are."

<Aldis> Yes, thank you, young lady. ::striding up to the bar:: A glass of Sembian brandy, please, and a snippet of information.

* Aldis arches a fine eyebrow at Michelle's last conversational bit.

* Alranis scratches his cheek, and whispers something to his mug.

* Michelle pours some brandy into a snifter and places it on the bar. "What information do you seek ma'am?"

* Aldis leans on the counter, peering at Michelle, inspecting her more closely.

<Nacheyla> I don't know about that... she seemed rather understated... I rather like her.

* Michelle smiles, "Lisl is certainly fun to be around, but she does tend to view the world from a rather unique perspective."

<Aldis> ::smiles warmly:: Yes, I *do* believe you're the person to ask! You're that nice girl who knows my daughter Lisl, aren't you? The girl who...likes cats?

* Michelle giggles, "I see that Lisl's been telling tales. No, I'm Michelle. I suspect Lisl was referring to our friend Felice."

<Aldis> ::smiling knowingly:: Actually, I've not spoken to Lisl in some time, but yes, that's exactly as I said.

* Michelle tilts her head to one side examining Aldis.

<Michelle> So what can I do for you?

<Aldis> ::waving a hand:: Anyway, such matters aside, have you seen my daughter of late? I went by her apartment, but it seems she's out. Do you know if she's out of town, or simply out for the evening? ::looks around the room:: I rather expected to find her here, actually.

* Michelle thinks, "I haven't seen her in a few day. Nacheyla, you've been working the bar recently when did you last see Lisl?"

<Aldis> ::turns to survey the room more carefully:: My, my...so many new faces... are so many of the former regular patrons of this establishment gone?

<Nacheyla> I saw her a few days ago, actually. She was a bit upset

<Michelle> Well the original owner died...Oh, it must have been a year or so ago. Moon Dancer's been running the place for about a year and a half now. Bai, Yb, Jaret, Philister and some of the other former patrons still drop by fairly regularly, but you're right, there have been a lot of new customers recently.

<Aldis> ::turning to look at the new speaker:: I am Aldis Ferinsdottir. I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name? You said she was...upset? Is there something wrong?

<Michelle> I assume if you stopped by the apartment that Lisl's cousin wasn't there either. If you have any idea where she might be, you could ask her concerning Lisl's whereabouts.

<Aldis> ::looking back at Michelle and cocking her head:: Sealgair only died a year ago? Stay, but I thought...::small frown:: He died several years ago, didn't he?

<Nacheyla> There was a very odd young woman here... Yb, I think her name was... she was scaring the hell out of Lisl, and so she had MUCH too much to drink. Xarroch walked her home, so I assume she'd be safe enough.

<Michelle> I witnessed it myself. ::points to the swords above the mantle:: Those swords were forged from part of Sealgair's soul. When he died, they died with him.

<Aldis> ::smiling at Michelle:: Lini'leah is back in town as well? All my daughters, returning to the fold! ::smiling::

* Adiethian sips and listens.

<Aldis> [damn, I'm slow tonight...] ::a trifle sharply:: Yb was here? ::looking amused:: No wonder Lisl was upset...she's always been a trifle nervous around wild mages, and that girl is as wild as they come...who is this Xarroch? I'm not familiar with that name...if you could describe him, I might know of him.

* Michelle shakes her head, "If Xarroch walked her home she could be anywhere. We'll just have to wait for one of them to show up." Looks at Aldis. "Unless you've got some way of tracking her."

<Nacheyla> Xarroch looks like... a badly designed disguise of a human...

<Aldis> ::glancing at the swords and nodding once, quickly:: Aye, I'm familiar with the process... Lisl has a similar set of.... weapons, herself.

* Alranis sips his beer.

* Adiethian briefly raises an eyebrow, but says nothing.

<Aldis> A badly designed...::looks puzzled for a moment, and then breaks out in a merry, light laugh:: Oh! Oh, I think I know to whom you refer...yes, she'd be quite safe with that one.

* Michelle blinks at Aldis a few times. "You might want to try and find Bai. The way Rhys told the story if Xarroch and Bai ever bump into each other again at least one of them is going to die."

<Aldis> Bai. ::Aldis makes a little "hmphing" noise:: Aye, he *would* think that way about... Xarroch, is it? Hard on the throat....::shakes her head:: Bai would do well to remember the errors of prejudice... he was less than friendly to my daughter when they first met, as well.

* Michelle shrugs, "You're probably the best candidate to explain it to him. Unless Lisl decides to."

<Aldis> ::catching Adiethian's expression, belatedly, and turning to examine him:: You seem familiar, sir...::furrows her brow in thought:: Are you, perhaps, a guard here in Marsember?

<Adiethian> I started as a guard, lady. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy a few promotions since then, though. Is there anything I can do to help you?

<Aldis> ::looking back at Michelle and waving her hand, as if to dismiss the issue:: Bai believes as he wills to, until some action convinces him differently. Words will not convince him in this.

<Nacheyla> ::peers moodily into her beer::

<Aldis> ::smiles and shakes her head:: No, thank you, young man...unless perchance my daughter is enjoying Dragon hospitality of late? ::arching her eyebrow to make it a question::

<Adiethian> No, lady. We haven't had any reason to bother her. She's been perfectly behaved... hasn't she? ::a slight grin in return::

* Alranis takes a sip of his beer.

<Aldis> ::matching his grin:: Of course she has. I raised her to be a lady, whether she admits it in polite company or not. ::smiling impishly:: But yes, if you compared it to, for example, what she was like as a teenager, aye, she's been perfectly behaved of late.

* Aldis looks down as a half-full brandy snifter grows an arm and tugs on her sleeve. "Oh! My apologies, little one, I didn't mean to neglect you." She picks up the snifter and takes a swallow of Sembian, smiling and closing her eyes as it slides down her throat. "Ahhh...there are things worth coming into town for..."

<Adiethian> ::laughs:: Compared to what *I* was like as a teenager, I think I'm dead. But let me assure you that we haven't had any dealings with your daughter. She's probably out having tea in some other highly esteemed establishment.

<Aldis> ::smiling delightedly:: Yes, indeed, you're right. Though for her, I think she finds little difference between a cup of tea and a mug of...what was it called now...ass kick? ::frowns:: That's not right...

* Michelle giggles, "Mule Kick."

<Aldis> ::smiles:: Ah, yes, that's it.

* Michelle blinks, "Oh my. I completely lost track of time. Last call everyone."

* Nacheyla finished off her beer and pulls a small silver coin out of her pocket.

<Aldis> ::concentrates on drinking her brandy, savoring every drop as it goes down::

* Michelle puts the silver into the strong box and places the mug on the floor so it can waddle into the kitchen.

* Adiethian polishes off his ale and stands up, retrieving a silver piece from his pocket. "I had best be heading back to headquarters. I've got a stack of paperwork that grows every time I look away from it for too long." He puts the silver piece on the bar. "Good night, everyone."

<Aldis> ::smiling around the room:: If I might request a favor? Please don't tell Lisl you saw me tonight...I always like seeing the expression on her face when turn up at her door. ::chuckling:: She probably wouldn't look so aggrieved if she showed up at *my* door more often....

<Aldis> It was a pleasure meeting you, Trooper...?

<Nacheyla> Goodnight, Mistress Michelle...

<Adiethian> Adiethian. And likewise, Lady...?

* Michelle giggles, "Better be careful that she doesn't already know you're in town."

* Michelle puts the silver in the strongbox and sets the mug on the floor.

* Alranis polishes off his mug, and rolls a coin down the counter. "Good night. Much yet to do..."

* Alranis slips out the door.

<Aldis> Aldis. ::frowns a moment, and then smiles:: Adiethian! Then you're that nice man from the paper!

* Michelle puts the money in the strongbox and the mug on the floor.

<Aldis> ::winking at Michelle:: Oh, I have ways of...covering my tracks.

<Adiethian> Yes, ma'am. ::heads for the door, stops:: Would you like an escort tonight?

<Michelle> I've no doubt.

<Aldis> ::shakes her head:: Very charming of you, but I assure you, it isn't necessary. ::gestures, letting sparks of light stream from her fingers, to form the shape of a huge, looming, loaded-for-bear half-orc behind her shoulder:: I'll well equipped to handle any trouble.

<Adiethian> ::looks appraisingly at the image behind Aldis, and nods his approval.:: Very well then. Good night, Lady Aldis. ::leaves the Hall::

<Aldis> ::smiles:: Such a well-mannered lad. ::finishing her brandy:: So...Michelle, is it? Lisl *has* been behaving herself, has she not? ::smiling:: I heard a rumor that my little girl got herself mixed up with some vigilante Beastmasters.

* Michelle giggles, "I think it depends on how you define behaving. Personally I don't think Lisl and Felice should flaunt their traits as much as they do, but Lisl's certainly been behaved in comparison to Felice."

<Aldis> ::smiling:: There's no need to pretend with me, dear, I know that you and "Felice" are the same person. I...check up on my daughter occasionally.

* Michelle smiles, "I wondered about that. But Felice and I are very different people. We just have a highly unusual relationship."

<Aldis> ::brow furrowing in thought:: So...you really are two...personalities? You just share an interchangeable body? How unusual! ::looking very interested::

* Michelle smiles, "You're probably the first person I've ever explained that to who understood the first time around."

<Aldis> ::shrugs modestly:: I specialize in magical research. This really is a fascinating phenomenon...I could quiz you all night about it, but I wouldn't want to keep you up....and it *has* been a bit of a journey for me. I walked, for a change. ::smiling:: It's good for me to exercise every so often.

* Michelle giggles, "I wonder if that's the excuse Lisl uses to justify drinking Mule Kick?"

<Michelle> Feel free to find me some time. I'd be happy to discuss the matter. There's a great deal about it I don't know myself unfortunately. ::looks around:: Not that this is the most ideal place to have such a discussion.

<Aldis> ::raises both eyebrows:: What, exercise? No, I believe she really *does* enjoy the taste. ::shrugs, as if to say, "to each her own":: And it has the same attraction as drinking alcohol has for anybody...it can relax you, give you a slight buzz, and potentially get you drunk.

<Aldis> ::looking around herself, arching her eyebrows:: Actually, this *is* one of the safer places to have such a discussion. Do you know who Erdian is?

<Michelle> Those reasons I understood, though I was under the impression that most people here drank spirits because they couldn't trust the water.

<Michelle> I meant more along the lines of having other patrons around. While most of the patrons are perfectly trustworthy, I don't particularly want to share that secret with everyone who walks through the door.

<Aldis> ::chuckles:: In other taverns, perhaps, but I doubt that's a problem here.

<Aldis> ::smiles:: I understand entirely. And, when you see her, you can ask Lisl about my confidentiality. ::smiles:: She knows all about how well I keep secrets.

<Michelle> Would you want to tell Adiethian or Alranis?

<Michelle> You I trust. Your daughter's existence is proof enough of that.

<Aldis> ::smiling wickedly:: Ahh, but I'm sure those others would be *most* interested to know. Adiethian especially.

<Aldis> ::smiling and reaching out to pat Michelle on the cheek:: Sweet of you to say so, dear.

* Michelle blinks at Aldis, "What's it like to be a mother?"

<Aldis> ::looks startled at the sudden question:: Well...hmmm...in some ways, it's like any other profession...teaching would be a good example, I suppose...and like being in love, at the same time. It's frustrating, rewarding, painful, joyful...::shakes her head:: It's hard to describe, really, if you've never been responsible for another's life.

<Michelle> I think the closest would be Yohko's apprentice Temire. Every other time one of us has been responsible for someone's life it's been some innocent who was only in momentary danger, or someone who was just as responsible for our life.

<Aldis> ::narrowing her eyes and thinking:: Yes, is somewhat like having an apprentice... apprentice and master do share a certain bond. But motherhood is... closer. It's a little different, when you bring them from your own womb, create their flesh from yours, raise them, nurture them...:: drifts off, looking a trifle misty-eyed:: And I think mothers never truly learn to let go.

* Michelle shakes her head.

<Aldis> ::smiling a little wistfully:: If you're very lucky, you have a friend for your lifetime, and a part of you that will continue on after you die. If you're not lucky.... ::looks saddened:: The hatred between parent and child is one of the strongest hates in all the worlds, because no matter how far back it reaches, it always begins in love, and the souring of love.

* Michelle sighs, "I just hope my child learns to forgive me."

<Aldis> You have a child? One you had to...give up?

* Michelle gestures to herself, "All this is a side effect of randomly plane hopping. One hop occurred just as I had finished giving birth."

<Aldis> ::gasps:: You mean...you acquired...parts, as you hopped into and out of them? ::frowns, and mutters something about "conservation of energies":: Can you be certain that your child really *doesn't* have a mother?

* Michelle thinks about the implications of that statement for a while, "No, but unless there are quite a few copies of me floating around she'd be a very different person than I am. I'm certain the child was well cared for. Probably raised on the legend of its mother and father.

<Michelle> As for conservation of energy. Remember, that only applies to closed systems. I'm reasonably certain plane hopping violates the closed systems requirement.

<Aldis> Legend...don't tell me the father is in there with you as well? That's taking marital closeness a bit far, don't you think? ::shakes her head:: I have reason to believe the planes are much more of a closed system than many might believe.

<Michelle> No. The father was the other pivotal figure in the events that made my legend in that world. Leaving the child behind is about my only regret concerning that world. I REALLY don't want to listen to ANY of the bards' tales concerning our battle at the altar.

<Aldis> ::smiling broadly:: Michelle, I believe you may be more like me than I often care to admit to myself.

* Michelle quirks an eyebrow, "Something tells me I don't what to know. Course something also tells me I'm going to find out anyway." Michelle smiles.

<Aldis> ::lifting her empty glass, frowning at it, and putting it down again with a shrug, smiling:: Oh, you probably will...eventually. ::grinning impishly:: When you're closer to MY age.

<Michelle> I'm honestly not sure how old I am anymore. But given Lisl's age, I've probably got a ways to go yet.

<Aldis> ::smiles:: It's not polite to ask a lady her age. Let's just say I'm a bit young for Evermeet, but too old to be having anymore babies...

* Michelle giggles, "I knew THAT before I started plane hopping."

<Aldis> So...were you the first...::gestures to Michelle:: in there?

<Michelle> No. I'm the first to have to figure out what was happening to us.

<Aldis> ::cocks her head to one side:: I don't understand...

<Michelle> Brad was the one who was actually born and grew up. Then he somehow hopped planes and I came into being. I was the first to have to adjust to a new world with new rules in a new body with new powers. Since then it's become fairly routine, but it was very difficult at first.

<Aldis> ::nods:: Ah, I understand now...Brad...::looks thoughtful:: So how many of you are there, in there?

<Michelle> Nine.

<Aldis> ::boggles a little:: That many? And you haven't-- ::looks a trifle excited:: there haven't been any signs of instability? Has anyone ever...died?

<Michelle> Well, you could call Yamato's wanting to get rid of the rest of us as an instability, and Harold's pretty unstable, but then again he's a berserker. No one's died, but something's wrong with Arthur. We can't really figure out what, particularly since he should be the longest lived of any of us.

<Aldis> ::smiles:: Berserkers aren't really unstable...they're just...well, they're a little more in tune with their instinct, you could say. ::smiling slightly:: Lisl's been mistaken for a berserker, at times. Who is Arthur? I'm sorry, but I believe I've only seen three of you, all told, if the swordmaster is also one of yours.

<Michelle> That would be Yohko. Arthur...He would be our knight in shining armour. He hasn't really made an appearance since we came to Marsember except for once during the whole incident with Jelarthna's arm.

<Aldis> ::raises one eyebrow at the description of Arthur, looking remarkably like her daughter for a moment:: And what do you mean, there's something wrong with him?

<Michelle> Hmm...have you ever met someone who's managed to outlive every reason they had for living? Have you seen how they just seem to fade away? That's what's happening to Arthur.

<Aldis> ::frowns:: Aye, that's something to do with the reason for Evermeet's existence...but I should think that being with all of you would give him one of the best reasons of all to continue...

* Michelle shrugs, "If we could figure it out we'd have cured it already."

<Aldis> Have you...::frowns in thought:: Do you all share each other's thoughts? Or are the personalities entirely separate?

<Michelle> Thoughts no...Well most of the time anyway. But we do share the same memories.

<Aldis> In that case...you can speak together internally? I assume you've asked Arthur? ::looks a trifle embarrassed:: I'm sorry, I'm afraid this is most awkward...I was brought up never to speak about someone in such a fashion when the person was there to answer for himself. But I'm afraid this is a rather unusual case...

<Michelle> We've spoken together, but the last time was before Arthur got ill. We've never figured out how to do it voluntarily. If Arthur knows, he's hiding it where none of the rest of us can find it.

<Michelle> And don't worry about being rude. Right now, I'm here. If you want to speak to one of the others I'll have to leave. ::Michelle smiles::

<Aldis> ::stroking her chin:: How do you...bring a personality to the fore? ::smiling:: You have a habit of leaving a room when you change. Lisl could learn from you, I think.

<Michelle> In my case it's a requirement. Once or twice I've been shocked into changing, but normally the nature of my powers requires that the change be obscured. The easiest way to do that is to leave the room. Besides, it does assist in maintaining the impression of our being different people.

<Aldis> ::smiling wryly:: If I were the type to make much of appearances, it might have fooled me. But I learned shapechanging even before I gave birth to one. But my other question...how do you bring a personality to the fore?

* Michelle thinks, "Yamato figured out how to shapechange in the normal sense of the world. Arthur could already assume a variety of dragon forms, but nothing beyond that. At one point Yamato tried to assume a dragon form and suddenly Arthur was in charge. Since then we've learned how to change forms without changing personalities, and how to concentrate on a given personality in order to change forms.

<Aldis> ::raising both eyebrows:: IN-teresting....so if I wanted to meet this Arthur, you could arrange it?

<Michelle> I could arrange for you to meet all of us, though I really wouldn't recommend meeting Yamato. He's rather disagreeable.

<Michelle> Aldis, do you have a place to stay this evening?

<Aldis> ::smiling:: I'm sure he feels the same about you, if he's trying to be rid of you all. I'd be very interested in meeting you all and trying to understand your... interrelationship better. It's most unusual. And I would be happy to talk to Arthur, if he had no objection. Who is the most recent...acquisition?

<Michelle> Deanna. It's almost a shame that she and Felice are stuck in the same body. They'd enjoy romping through the world together. ::Michelle giggles::

<Aldis> ::smiling:: I have a key to Lisl's apartments, but I'd just as soon not surprise her in the middle of the night like this... though it would only be fair desserts for her. ::grinning a little in a strikingly Lisl-like fashion:: But if you're offering a place for the evening with more private conversation, I would be delighted to accept.

* Michelle nods, "I need to get back and make sure Temire's all right. She's at that troublesome stage when she knows just enough to get herself in trouble."

* Michelle sighs, "Besides, at some point I should probably explain all of this to her, and I'm probably not going to get a much better opportunity than this."

* Michelle shoos the last of the dishes into the kitchen and begins dimming the lights.

<Aldis> Your apprentice...she doesn't know? ::frowns:: Be careful you don't upset her... if she's at that stage, she might take such a sudden revelation badly....

* Michelle nods, "I know. I had planned on waiting. But she's bright enough to figure it out if we continue our conversation there. And with the scare Xarroch gave her it would probably be better if I spelled it all out for her, rather than letting her come to her own conclusions."

* Michelle holds the door open for Aldis, "Shall we?"

<Aldis> Scare--? ::holds up her hand and shakes her head:: Never mind. We can discuss this further on the way.

<Aldis> ::taking a last, long look around the tavern, her eyes coming to rest on Sealgair's blackened swords.:: Just....one moment, please...

* Michelle smiles, "If I'd met a demon when I was a young, in-training, teenage girl I'd have been scared witless as well."

* Michelle nods.

* Aldis walks over to the swords, and stands looking at the for a long moment, before taking a step closer, putting a hand on their crossing, and bowing her head.

* Aldis opens her eyes and looks up quickly with a slight gasp, and stands for a moment, a searching look on her face.

* Aldis drops her hand after a long moment, turns, and walks to the door.

<Aldis> ::a small, mysterious smile on her face:: I always mistrust the obvious. It seems that sometimes I'm right. After you?

* Michelle closes and locks the doors behind them.
