* Michelle unlocks the door and announces, "Hall's Open!" * Tyl is sitting at one of the tables, drowsing * Glossaria strides briskly into the Hall, green dress swishing around her ankles. * Michelle returns behind the bar. She is dressed in a green blouse and blue skirt. The blouse is cinched at the waist with a white belt. Her hair has been tied with a white ribbon that winds down the length of the pony tail. <Glossaria> M'lady Tyl'gainia? ::frowns and looks over her shoulder:: Have you been here all night? * Tyl looks up * Michelle asks in a quiet voice, "Can I get you anything to drink, Glossaria? She's tired and it would probably be best to let her sleep." * Zoya enters, a thin staff in one hand. <Tyl> I've been here all week, actually... how are you? <Michelle> The staff's new Zoya. Any special purpose or did you just feel like accessorizing? * Glossaria touches a hand to her throat. "Much better than I was, thank you. I didn't do any permanent damage. I just thank the Binder I wasn't trying to *sing* in that language. And how are you? <Tyl> I'm pretty tired, actually. Jelarthna's alive, and likely to stay that way, but his mind is pretty badly damaged... <Tyl> It's been more then I can do at one time, so I've been staying here, working with him and resting... he still won't wake up. * Jaret enters through the main door. He's a little paler than usual, but he has a healthy flush in his cheeks from the warm night air, and he grins broadly as he enters. "Well met, and good evening everyone." <Zoya> ::smiles slightly at Michelle:: A little birdie told me what happened to my favorite student, and how this one ::nods at Tyl:: has been taking care of him. I thought this might help, some. * Tyl looks up sharply when Jaret Swashes in... * Glossaria furrows her brow in concern. "It doesn't heal the same, does it?" <Michelle> That might be a good thing Tyl. Would you really want him conscious with his mind in the shape it's in? <Tyl> Did you kill it? <Tyl> ::turns to Michelle:: A little awareness might help some... he can't hear me, the way he is now... <Glossaria> ::turning and smiling at Jaret's entrance:: M'lord Jaret! You're alive! You *must* tell me all about the nether regions! How was it? What are the Blood Wars really like? <Michelle> The usual Jaret? <Jaret> ::to Michelle:: Please. ::to Tyl:: Sort of... I think. * Michelle sighs, "You're right. I wasn't aware he was in that bad of shape." <Jaret> ::to Glossaria:: I could try, later perhaps. It defies description. * Michelle pours Jaret a glass of Arabellan Red and sets it on the bar. <Jaret> Thank you. <Glossaria> I'd be grateful for any information you could give me. The usual sources contradict each other on nearly every point, so I'm sure they're all horribly inaccurate. ::dropping her voice:: *I* think that half of them have never visited the Nether Reaches at *all*! <Tyl> ::looks up at Michelle:: Hey, could I trouble you for something to eat? ::looks down:: I seem to have lost some weight here... <Zoya> ::grins at Glossaria:: What a horrid, unfair, biased, unsubstantiated accusation to make. You're almost certainly correct. * Michelle chuckles, "I'd have force fed you days ago if I hadn't been worried about breaking your concentration. Just a moment." * Michelle walks into the kitchen. * Glossaria blushes at Zoya's comment. <Tyl> ::to no one in particular:: I'm suddenly very *very* hungry <Zoya> ::walks over to Tyl and leans on her staff:: Can I try to offer some help? <Tyl> I'm not really sure, Zoya. Can you help? <Zoya> I hope so. I've been working with one of my students who - rather astonishingly, both for me and for him - turns out to be a psionic. I'm still having trouble *detecting* psionic activity, but I've come up with a way of feeding it with magic. <Tyl> Really? That's interesting! <Zoya> I've been inside Jelarthna's mind once before, and I would gladly do it again if I thought it would help - but I think it would actually hurt things. So all I can think of to do to help him is to help replenish your mental strength. * Michelle returns from the kitchen with a LARGE platter of breads, cheeses, nuts, fruits, and spreads. She's also bringing a pitcher and a mug. <Tyl> His mind is the second largest mess I've ever seen... * Glossaria raises an eyebrow. "Second? What was the first? <Tyl> Bluestar's cellar in Waterdeep <grins> <Zoya> ::nods:: It's been a mess for a long time, from what I could tell. This will only have made it worse. I knew I shouldn't have given him as much freedom as I did, but he seemed to be learning so *fast*... ::sighs:: * Michelle sets the tray on Tyl's table, then fills the mug from the pitcher and sets both down as well. "Let me know if you need anything else Tyl. And don't worry about forgetting meals. Now that I know you can eat while doing this I'll make sure you do." * Tyl stuffs a large piece of bread into her mouth. <Tyl> 'an' oooo ich'll <Zoya> ::looks at the platter:: Tyl, you'll want to eat as much of that as you can. All of it, if at all possible. The... Energy transfer takes a fair amount of physical energy, as well. * Tyl nods as she crams a chunk of cheese into her mouth and drinks out of the mug... <Glossaria> ::watches Tyl eat with something akin to awe, and suddenly remembers she's not had anything to drink yet:: Michelle? Could you suggest something new for me to try? <Michelle> Had apple juice yet? <Glossaria> Apple juice...does that have alcohol? Because I've had something that tasted like applewood, but with alcohol. * Tyl spreads some jelly on another piece of bread and takes a deep breath <Michelle> It can, but I wasn't actually planning on it. <Tyl> ::looks over at Zoya:: He has a real problem you know... what got him so obsessed about killing demons? Do you know? <Glossaria> Hmmm...I'll try some. It'll be interesting to know if the taste changes when it ferments. * Michelle goes behind the bar and fills a mug for Glossaria. "Here you go." * Glossaria accepts the mug, sniffs carefully, and takes a small sip. "Oh...sweet! And not fizzy!" * Tyl stuffs another piece of bread in her mouth and washes it down with the remainder of her apple juice <Zoya> ::sighs:: Maybe. I know that he's got this need to rescue people, and I think the demon thing is all tied up with that. But I don't know the details. * Tyl takes another deep breath while she slathers honey on another piece of bread <Tyl> He seems to feel like he's a failure... that because he can't defeat these demons, he's worthless... <Glossaria> ::absently pulls a pencil out from behind her ear, and jots down a few notes in her ever-present notebook, muttering under her breath:: Interesting...I thought only snakes and dragons could swallow their food whole... <Zoya> ::nods:: Yes, I gathered that. Foolish child. That stems from a lost battle that happened, oh... several hundred years ago, before he could even hope to call himself an adult. But that battle didn't involve demons. At least, not directly. * Tyl shoots Glossaria an odd look <Tyl> ::looks back at Zoya:: Several hundred years? hmmmm... I didn't think he was so much older than I am... maybe that's why I'm having so much trouble <Zoya> He's not, really. ::frowns, and counts on her fingers:: Maybe I got that wrong. Elf ages always screw me up... A hundred years ago? Got to be more than fifty years, given the rut it's worn in his mind. <Glossaria> ::frowns and cocks her head to one side:: Wasn't there something about a girl from his village? <Tyl> ::shrugs and eats another piece of bread:: I don't know... I just know I'm having problems... this may take a few weeks. I hope Xarroch doesn't run out of patience and skewer me for being slow... <Zoya> ::tosses her hands up:: He was an adolescent at the time. ::nods to Glossaria:: He was training to be a ranger, and a girl he knew - about his own age - was killed, badly, in front of him. He blamed himself. <Tyl> I can relate to that... ::mutters into her empty mug:: <Michelle> ::Tyl's mug points to the pitcher.:: <Tyl> Oh yeah... ::pours herself from more juice:: <Glossaria> ::frowns:: Badly? I don't understand...she didn't die? <Zoya> We all can relate. But I think he didn't get the help he needed, and now every time he sees *any*one in trouble, they've got that poor girl's face plastered on them. * Tyl coughs and nearly spits apple juice all over the place... <Michelle> No Glossaria. She means the death was very brutal and disturbing. <Glossaria> Oh. ::blinks a few times, and makes a note before sipping some more apple juice thoughtfully:: <Zoya> ::nods:: <Zoya> ::to Tyl:: But I'm not sure how it ties in with the demons. The mesh was fairly short, and it was so intense that I forgot a lot of it after it faded. <Tyl> I don't know that I'm going to be lots of help to him, in the end... <Zoya> Well, I think the final battle is going to be his, and his alone. But if he knows you're there, then it will provide him something to think about besides the spiral down. And if he finally admits that he can accept help, then you will be there to lend him your strength. <Tyl> ::nods:: The problem I see is that I have my own private scars as well, and this is so tight and emotional and everything... it's not going to do him any good to wind up with my problems instead of his own <Zoya> Well, he survived mine. We all have scars; there's nothing you can do about that. Wall them off from him as best you can. <Michelle> It might help Tyl'gainia. Maybe if he thinks he has to help you with your problems, he'll find the strength to over come his own, so he CAN help you. * Jaret drinks some of his neglected Arabellan Red. <Tyl> ::slowly eats some more cheese:: Bluestar would kick my butt if he were here... <Michelle> Why? <Zoya> ::considers:: I don't know, Michelle. If this were an outward fight, it might help. But if he turns away from his inward battle to help Tyl with hers, then he'll be opening himself up to further invasion. Maybe. <Tyl> He's not really that fond of Jelarthna... Bluestar thinks he's rash and heedless of the danger he puts other people in. <Michelle> True. I was thinking, that maybe, hidden deep inside that thick skull of his there might be enough sense to decide to deal with his own problems so he can help others. ::shrug:: Both of you know him better than I do. <Zoya> ::laughs:: Bluestar isn't very far off the mark, at that. It doesn't make him an unworthy person, but he *is* rash and heedless occasionally. * Lini slowly opens the door and looks carefully around the room <Tyl> Bluestar's a thief... we.. um, I mean they tend to get all unraveled when they're startled... Jelarthna's a bit... dramatic <Zoya> ::chortles:: <Zoya> Yes. Are you done eating? <Glossaria> ::hears the door open and peers around curiously at the newcomer:: * Michelle notices the stranger at the door, "Welcome. Please come in and have a seat. Can I get you something to eat or drink?" <Tyl> um... ::looks at the plate and realizes she's dipping her fingers into the jelly:: mostly... * Jaret is distracted, watching Tyl "eat." <Zoya> ::looks down:: By all means, eat as much as you can. I won't lie to you - this won't be very pleasant, but when it's done, you'll have all the power I can give you, and I can do it every other day. * Lini clad in a lightweight grey cloak enters and makes her way to the bar * Tyl wipes her fingers off on a napkin... <Tyl> Okay... ::takes a deep breath:: it can't be any more unpleasant than other things I've done recently... <Zoya> Probably not. Turn your chair so you can face me. <Glossaria> ::turns away again to watch curiously:: * Tyl picks up her chair and moves around * Lini takes a seat by the bar and pulls out a large pouch without removing her hood * Zoya turns around and drags another chair around so she can sit facing Tyl, but doesn't sit yet. She stands in front of Tyl and plants the staff on the floor between them. * Jaret drinks some more of his wine, casting an odd glance at the hooded stranger, but doesn't investigate any farther. <Zoya> Take hold of the staff. Don't let go until I say so, or there will be an explosion of magic, and there will be a very great deal of magic to explode. * Tyl gives Zoya a dubious look, but takes hold of the staff and nods <Lini> ::without looking up:: Barkeep, a brown ale please. <Michelle> Zoya, are you sure this is the safest place to do that? <Michelle> ::to Lini:: Certainly. ::Michelle fills a mug with brown ale and sets it on the bar in front of Lini.:: I'm Michelle. Let me know if you want anything else. <Zoya> ::to Michelle:: Actually, this is the safest place to do this besides the Tower, and if we do it here, then she can take the power up to Jelarthna as soon as she recovers from the spell. * Zoya begins chanting softly under her breath. The magic-sensitive in the room can feel that she is gathering a great deal of it. <Lini> ::the pouch begins to twitch about and suddenly a mug pops out and climbs onto the bar:: <Lini> ::it does not look happy at all: * Glossaria rubs her hands up and down her forearms, hugging herself, yet leaning forward and watching intently. * Michelle blinks at the mug a couple of times, "And I thought we were the only ones who had those." Looks at Lini, "You would be a patron returning from a long journey would you?" * Jaret hears the mug clunk onto the bar, and turns to study the recently released mug, and the stranger. * Lini reaches down and pours the ale into her mug. "Sorry old friend..." ::to Michelle:: "Yes, I haven't seen this place in 5 years." <Lini> ::looking around:: It all looks the same...but the faces are different. * Zoya takes a few very deep breaths and her hands move to grasp the staff above and below Tyl's. The chanting ceases. <Lini> ::to Michelle:: Perhaps you can help me...I am seeking an old patron. <Lini> Two in fact. * Tyl flinches just a little, the tilts her head to one side and a look of extreme concentration twists her features * Jaret looks a little more closely at Lini, listening to her voice. He starts to smile slightly. <Michelle> Well the current owner Moon Dancer took it over a little over a year ago. I think it's been about a year now since the previous owner Sealgair died. Some of the other old patron show up occasionally. Mainly Lisl, Bai, Yb, and Jaret here. ::Gestures to Jaret:: * Lini stands and give her best slightly sarcastic curtsey to Jaret. * Zoya 's frown deepens, and a thin sweat begins to form on her face. <Lini> Master Jaret, I hope you have been well. <Jaret> ::slightly confused look:: I am well, lady, thank you. ::bows:: And might I have the pleasure of your name? <Lini> My life is anything but simple... but I have missed my home and family. <Lini> ::to Michelle:: You said Yb has been about? <Michelle> Yes...Actually, she might be missing for a few more weeks. Last I heard of her one of the other barkeeps had just teleported her to the far side of the continent. <Lini> ::uses the cover of the cloak to change appearance:: Sir, you do not remember an old friend...:removes hood:: * Zoya 's knuckles turn white on the staff, and sweat is streaming steadily down her face. <Lini> ::to M:: Not far enough if you ask me! * Lisl (currently cloaked in what looks like a large black sheet, embroidered around the edges with an intricate foreign pattern and sewn with tiny mirrors) strides over the threshold, pushing the wrap back from her face, looking around. "Busy tonight. What's a girl have to do to get a drink here?" <Jaret> ::mouth drops open slightly:: Lini! ::sweeps into a deeper bow:: Where have you been! It's wonderful to see you! Have you been well? * Tyl takes a deep gasping breath... <Michelle> The usual Lisl? And what's with the cloak? <Lini> As well as can be expected... the world is not kind. * Lini hearing Lisl's name turns suddenly from Jaret... <Lini> *COUSIN*! <Lisl> Nay, water would be best, I've had a long journey toni--- LINI???? * Jaret stands back to watch the reunion. <Lini> Where have you been... I have tried to find you for near 4 years! * Michelle blinks a few times then turns to Jaret, shakes her head and goes to fill a mug with water. * Tyl begins to tremble from head to foot, her chair making bumping noises against the floor. * Zoya takes a few deep breaths, and halts the flow of magic long enough to speak quietly. "How is it going? Can you take more?" <Glossaria> ::blinks and looks at the two strangers, and sips her juice.:: <Tyl> um... I don't think so... actually.... ::takes a few deep breaths:: <Zoya> All right. If you can't take any more, then - one hand at a time, please - let go of the staff. <Glossaria> ::looking back at Tyl with concern:: Are you alright? <Lini> Well, where have you been. I've been half way across the world looking for you * Tyl slowly unwraps her fingers from around the staff, then nearly falls on the floor... * Zoya pales slightly as Tyl releases the staff, closes her eyes, and starts breathing slowly and rhythmically. <Lisl> ::snorting:: Fine one *you* are to talk! *I* at least leave forwarding addresses. Well, usually. ::striding forward to embrace Lini in a bearhug:: It's so good to SEE you again! * Tyl weakly stands and turns her chair around, then sits back down <Tyl> Gee, Zoya... I don't know if I feel better or worse then I did ten minutes ago... <Zoya> ::with a final gasp, Zoya opens her eyes and shakily wipes the sweat from her face:: <Lisl> If you've been halfway around the world, it's a wonder we didn't bump into each other. That's where I've been, too. ::grinning:: But for the past season or so I've been here in Marsember. Most lately, I've been to take in the sights in Anauroch. <Lini> Don't break me woman...:embracing Lisl:: <Zoya> ::weakly smiling at Tyl:: You sound just like Andel. Well, slower. *I* certainly feel worse, so I hope you got enough power from that to last a while, anyway. Eat something else - it'll settle your stomach and give you back some of the strength you just used. <Tyl> What's an Andel? <Zoya> Andel - my psionic student. <Tyl> oh... a gnome? <Glossaria> ::looking back and forth from Zoya to Tyl:: M'lady Tyl'gainia? What does it feel like? <Zoya> ::nods:: <Tyl> ::grins painfully at Glossaria:: Like being run over by a beer wagon... <Zoya> Michelle, I would be forever grateful if you would bring me some bread and cheese... <Tyl> Milk, too if you have some... gads, my stomach hurts... <Glossaria> Hm. ::pauses a moment, and gives Tyl a concerned look:: Has that happened to you often? <Tyl> Once... and once was definitely enough... * Michelle smiles, "Certainly." Michelle picks up the tray she left on Tyl's table, tops off Tyl's mug, then heads into the kitchen with the pitcher and the tray. <Lini> So cousin...what has the world done to you in the last few years? <Lisl> ::chuckling:: Any number of things, but it hasn't killed me yet...tho' not for lack of trying. All in all, it's been good to me, I'd say. <Lini> ::quietly:: Do we still have a home here? <Lisl> Almost getting married was one of the best things that ever happened to me, actually... <Lini> MARRIED? <Tyl> ::looks at Zoya:: You know, if Jelarthna lives through this, I just might have to kick his butt for this... <Lisl> ::grinning:: Of course we do. And you know, it was strangely free of spiders when I came back to clean it out. <Lisl> Yes, Married. Well, nearly. We parted friends, and he's still alive. You remember Jean-Pierre, don't you? <Zoya> ::hoarsely laughs:: Get in line. <Lini> ::laughing:: Well that is good... we would not want unwelcomed guests. <Lini> I did not know it had gone that far. I am not so good with the ways of men and women. * Michelle returns from the kitchen with another tray of food, a pitcher, and two more mugs. "I certainly think you should. While you're at it see if you can knock some sense into his head." Michelle sets the food down on the table and pours milk from the pitcher into the two mugs. * Jaret chuckles a little into his wine glass as he has a sip. <Lisl> And your reputation is still intact...the place stood empty a good... what? Five years, since you left Marsember? And not a soul tried to burglarize the place. <Lisl> ::snorts at Lini's comment:: And you think I was? <Lini> That is as much your doing as mine. * Zoya picks up a chunk of bread and eats it very slowly. * Tyl takes a long drink out of her mug... when she sits the mug down, there are tears glimmering in her eyes... <Lini> Better than i cousin... better than I... But I am learning ::grin:: * Tyl pulls a handkerchief out of her bag and wipes her eyes... <Lisl> ::Arches an eyebrow:: Oh, REALLY? And just who are you learning with, hmmmmm? * Zoya dunks her bread in the milk and continues to eat. <Lini> Five years in the world of men teaches you many things. <Glossaria> ::puts a hand hesitantly to Tyl's shoulder:: What's the matter? <Lisl> The world of *men*, hmmm? And just where have *you* been travelling, cousin? <Tyl> I just... damn... I'm so afraid I'm not up to this... I don't want him to die... <Lini> Anywhere that the sun shines is the world of men cousin. <Lisl> ::chuckling:: You would see it that way, wouldn't you? ::smiles to herself:: That puts a whole new spin on an old saying... <Michelle> Tyl, if any one can get him through this, you can. As long as you do your best, no one can fault you. Not even you. <Tyl> ::sort of half laughs:: yes, I'm sure you're right, but... that's not going to help much if he dies... of course, I doubt Xarroch would hesitate to slaughter me if he does die... <Glossaria> But...[damn, Michelle stole my line]...you've no hold on his life, do you? You can only try your best. <Tyl> So I won't feel bad for long... <Zoya> ::to Tyl:: Then finish eating and go help him. I'll talk to Xarroch. <Glossaria> Oh, but he seemed like such a nice...::hesitates a moment, looking doubtful:: Demon. * Zoya does an impressive job of pronouncing Xarroch's name with only a human throat to work with. <Tyl> ::holds out her still shaking hand:: I think I might wait for a while... <Michelle> Tyl'gainia, if Xarroch wants a piece of you after everything you've done for Jelarthna, he's going to have to go through me. And probably most of the rest of us as well. <Zoya> Eat! * Tyl laughs a bit and takes a piece of cheese <Zoya> ::takes another tiny bite of bread from her own shaking hand:: <Tyl> Yes, mother... * Lini realizes she rudely cut off her conversation with Jaret and turns back to him. <Lisl> But why didn't you *write*, at least? You *know*, of course, that my mother will have your hide for that... <Lini> Sir, I do apologize for my rudeness. <Zoya> You needed to eat *before* I came in here. <Tyl> I sort of forgot... ::grind a bit sheepishly:: <Tyl> But Michelle's been making sure I sleep ::blushes suddenly:: * Jaret is in the middle of a swallow of wine, and hurriedly gestures to Lini that it's perfectly fine with him that she continues to catch up on the history of the last five years of life with her cousin, he's quite happy and pleased that she's alive and well. It's a really creative gesture. <Michelle> Well it's not going to do anybody any good if you make a mess out of your own mind by not resting. <Zoya> Good. Sleep is good. But you need to eat, too. <Lini> ::to Lisl:: See cousin even the oldest dogs can be taught... polite... and to a man at that. <Zoya> ::turns to Michelle:: Make sure she eats before you put her to bed from now on. I'll be back every other day until Jelarthna either recovers or dies, and this isn't the easiest thing to do. * Lisl suddenly remembers her parched throat and the glass of water she requested, and finds it waiting impatiently on the bar for her, tapping a glass foot. She quickly takes a long swallow, draining the glass, and puts it down with a sigh. <Lisl> ::licks her lips:: You amaze me, Lini. Truly. ::grinning wolfishly:: <Michelle> No problem Zoya. I was planning on doing that anyway. I just wasn't sure if she should be eating while doing all of that. <Michelle> Refill Lisl? <Tyl> ::in a very low voice to Zoya:: Sleep is a wonderful thing, but Michelle's been insisting on a certain amount of closeness, and I'm not sure how much rest I'm getting... * Lini feels a small tug at her skirt and see an unhappy half filled mug trying to climb her skirts. * Michelle giggles, "I don't think I've ever seen the mugs THAT affectionate." <Zoya> ::laughs shortly:: If she's working as hard as it sounds, she needs to eat twice as much as normal, and ::brief pause:: and she needs to sleep with no distractions at all - complete darkness, completely alone. * Glossaria turns her attention to the two strangers, eyes wide, watching the conversation between them like a tennis match:: <Zoya> ::raises an eyebrow at Tyl:: <Tyl> ::looks straight back at Zoya:: Yes? * Michelle glances from Zoya to Tyl. <Zoya> ::shrugs:: * Zoya returns to eating very tiny bites of bread soaked in milk. <Lisl> Yes, indeed. ::shakes her head:: It still amazes me, that what can be so precious in one place can be so ignored in others... * Michelle refills Lisl's mug. * Lini lets the mug struggle for a bit then leans down and picks it up laughing. * Lisl knocks back the second mug as if it were a shot glass, without spilling a drop. "Ah, I've missed this..." <Lisl> ::nods towards Lini's mug:: So you kept that little fellow this whole time? Did he lose his magic away from here, or has he been like that the whole time? <Lini> ::leaning over to Lisl quietly says:: Have you heard from Bai? <Michelle> You know Lisl, we have our own special flavor. It's called 'tap.' <Lini> He's been worse that this the whole time. He does not like sword fights! <Lisl> ::cocks an eyebrow towards the wall full of taps behind Michelle's back and answers dryly:: In this place? No! * Michelle giggles, "What, don't you trust me?" * Tyl stands up shakily <Tyl> I think I'll go peek in on Jelarthna... good night everyone... <Zoya> ::nods to Tyl:: Yes, go see him now while the power is still fresh. If you break through to a part of him that's conscious, give him my regards. <Michelle> Goodnight Tyl'gainia. I'll be around if you need anything later in the evening. <Tyl> Certainly I will, Zoya... * Tyl goes upstairs... <Lini> ::tapping Lisl on the shoulder:: Lisl, did you hear me? <Zoya> ::sighs:: I should head back to the Tower, too, while I still can. * Zoya uses the staff to pull herself upright. She picks up the mug and drains the rest of the milk from it, then heads slowly out the door, leaning on the staff. <Lisl> ::nodding:: Aye, I heard you. My apologies...yes, I've seen Bai here...in fact, he was here the night of *my* triumphant return. ::grinning a little:: And it would seem I've not been the only one anxiously awaiting your return....::smiling:: <Michelle> Glossaria, why don't you go with her. Zoya probably looks like an easy mark right now. <Jaret> ::finishing off the rest of his wine:: I had best be along myself, I have a class to teach in the morning. ::bows deeply to the assorted company:: Ladies, good night. I'd my services to escort you home, but ::grinning:: I think you can all manage all right. <Lini> Perhaps we should go home and catch up on the last five years... I also need to know how Bai is? Mistress Zoya, wait! ::nodding at Michelle:: I'll go with you. <Lini> Don't tell him i am asking after him though. * Glossaria follows Zoya out, hurrying to catch up with her. * Jaret leaves the Hall. * Michelle grins at Lini, "Who didn't show up last night?" <Lisl> ::grinning fiendishly:: He's well enough, I'd say...a trifle thinner than when last I saw him, but well enough. And he's not trying to kill me anymore... <Lini> Well that is an improvement... perhaps I can be more civil with him then. I do miss this man. <Lisl> ::raising both eyebrows:: Aye, I knew you would...but-- be still my heart-- I never thought I'd see the day when you admitted it! <Lini> ADMIT WHAT? <Lisl> ::chuckling:: That you missed him. HIM. ::grinning impishly:: * Michelle fails to suppress her giggles. <Lini> I wasn't aiming well at the time ::smirk:: <Lisl> ::grins at Michelle:: I'd be careful about that, if I were you...she's dangerous when she thinks people are making fun of her. ::grins at Lini:: <Lisl> HA! You can't wriggle out of this one, I KNEW what you meant! * Michelle shrugs a smile still on her face, "If she's your cousin she'd have to be. That's why I keep the other's around." <Lini> Lisl...maybe we should go... I am growing very tired <Lini> ::Lini's disguise begins to flicker a bit:: * Michelle cocks her head to one side. <Lini> ::yawn:: <Lisl> ::chuckling:: Aye, we should...you're starting to waver, a bit, I can see. And I've had a long enough journey today. ::stretching hugely, making her spine crack like popcorn:: <Lini> ::suddenly the illusion drops entirely:: * Michelle blinks, then gets a contemplative look on her face. <Lisl> ::looking concerned:: Are you alright? ::shooting a quelling glance at Michelle:: <Lini> It has been a long time since I felt the need to use that... I guess I am out of practice... <Lisl> ::raising an eyebrow:: You mean you've been walking about topside like *that*? * Michelle shakes her head at Lisl's suspicion. <Lini> I am very tired cousin... I am going to go... I assume my room is still in order... <Lisl> Of course it is. Just as you left it. Minus the dust. <Lini> I've been running topside like this... I'll explain it all later <Lisl> I'll come with you... old women like us need our beauty sleep. * Lisl grins toothily. * Michelle shakes her head in amusement and begins wiping down the bar. <Lini> Just accept that there are some things that aren't alarmed at my appearance... unfortunately they are not alarmed by my reputation either... <Lini> Good night barkeep... <Lisl> ::nodding and putting an arm around Lini's shoulder, turning for the door:: These days, I can accept almost anything. <Michelle> Goodnight Lini. <Lisl> Oh, Michelle.... ::pulling something out of the recesses of her clothing:: For the water. ::tossing a pair of glittering-- and quite foreign-- gold coins on the bar. <Michelle> Goodnight Lisl. <Lisl> Goodnight. Sleep sweet. * Michelle catches the coins and shakes her head again, "I've never been anywhere that water was THAT expensive." Drops the coins into the strong box. * Michelle cleans up the rest of the Hall, taking the pitcher and tray into the kitchen while shooing the mugs in front of her. * Michelle returns from the kitchen, locks the door and heads up stairs, "No Felice. We'll leave Lisl and her cousin alone this evening. Besides, Tyl'gainia and Jelarthna might need me." |
