* Michelle unlocks the door and announces, "Hall's Open!"

* Michelle returns to behind the bar. She's dressed simply in a brown skirt and a red sweater. As always her moon earring is in her right ear.

* Cwalindia walks in and looks around sort of nervously. Cwalindia is a tall woman, for an elf, with long black hair, with grey streaks that reaches nearly to her ankles. She is wearing a plain dress made from green silk.

<Michelle> Good Evening. How can I help you?

* Cwalindia walks to the bar.

<Cwalindia> I've been told the Feywine here was passable. Might I trouble you for a glass, please?

* Michelle looks over the wine rack for a moment before selecting a bottle and placing it on the bar. She then gets a glass, and then uncorks the bottle and fills the glass, leaving both in front of Cwalindia.

* Jelarthna strolls sprightly into the Hall, and comes straight to the counter.

<Cwalindia> Thank you, my lady... ::digs into a small ornate pouch at her waist and pulls out a thin silver coin:: I'm told Evermeet currency is good here, at a slightly diminished rate. Will this suffice?

<Jelarthna> Good evening, Michelle, how are you tonight?

<Jelarthna> ::bows to Cwal:: Good evening, I don't believe we've met. My name is Jelarthna. ::smiles::

* Cwalindia smiles charmingly.

<Cwalindia> It's nice to meet you, sir. I've heard much about you, but mere words do not adequately describe you. My name is Cwalindia Nightstorm.

<Michelle> Don't worry about it Cwalindia. First drink's free.

<Michelle> What can I get for you this fine evening Jelarthna?

<Jelarthna> ::Cwal:: Oh, you must be Tyl's sister. A pleasure to meet you! How are you finding things here in Marsember?

* Cwalindia takes a sip of the wine and smiles.

<Jelarthna> ::to Michelle:: Hmm, I think I'm in an ale mood tonight.

<Cwalindia> Oh, it's definitely interesting...

<Cwalindia> Very noisy. I've had a great deal of trouble sleeping recently...

<Lisl> ::There's a tentative knocking at the door::

* Michelle pours a mug full of ale for Jelarthna and places it on the bar in front of him.

<Jelarthna> ::to Cwal:: I'm sorry to hear that. I'd offer to cast a sleep spell on you, but it probably wouldn't work. ::grins::

<Michelle> Come in, the door's open!

* Jelarthna goes to the door and opens it, looking slightly confused.

<Cwalindia> ::grins back:: they never do...

<Lisl> ::a tired-looking woman with short, silver hair and bright eyes strides through the door.:: Is this really Sealgair's Meade Hall?

<Jelarthna> I did have one affect me once. I was so surprised, that it actually made me wake up again.

<Jelarthna> ::to Lisl:: Er... Sort of. Please, come in.

<Michelle> Yes it is ma'am. Though I'm afraid Sealgair passed on about 6 months ago.

<Lisl> ::raising an eyebrow:: Sealgair's gone? And here I thought the old coot would outlive *me*...

<Jelarthna> Were you one of his friends?

<Adiethian> ::an early-middle aged man with blocky features, and with a plain long sword belted to his side comes in and looks around at those inside. His shoulders slump slightly, but he walks to the bar:: Well met, barkeep.

<Lisl> ::grinning:: Occasionally. I worked for him for a while.

* Zoya sweeps through the door with a heavy, leather-bound tome under one arm. Her white hair is disheveled, and it looks like she hasn't slept in days, but she's grinning like the cat in the cream.

<Zoya> Good e'en, good e'en my friends!

<Michelle> Well met sir. What can I get you?

<Lisl> ::looking around in wonderment:: I can't believe the Dragons never burned this old place down....

<Michelle> Good evening Zoya. What would you like this evening?

* Zoya plops the book on the bar and her rear on a barstool at nearly simultaneous moments. "An ale, Michelle, if you would be so kind!"

* Cwalindia sips her Feywine, perched neatly on a stool, eyeing everyone cautiously.

<Jelarthna> ::to Lisl:: I'd like to hear more, I never had much opportunity to get to know him.

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Zoya:: You look awfully pleased with yourself! And pretty tired, too. What kind of breakthrough have you made?

* Lisl chuckles as she looks around.

* Adiethian hides a slight grin behind his hand at Lisl's comment.

<Michelle> Well as I understand it, Moon Dancer managed to save it from decaying into oblivion.

<Zoya> ::grins widely at Jel:: I got the damn rock to animate!

* Michelle pours Zoya and ale and hands it to her.

<Jelarthna> ::grins along with Zoya's almost like a yawn is passed on:: What rock is that?

<Adiethian> ::turns back to Michelle:: A stout would be nice, please.

<Lisl> Sealgair would roll in his grave if I started telling tales about him...

* Michelle pours a stout and hands it to Adiethian.

<Jelarthna> ::chuckles:: I'd *really* like to hear them, then.

<Zoya> ::takes a deep drink from the ale:: That's right, I forgot you haven't been up to the lab, lately. The sheet that that Curdswell fellow gave me last week is *full* of fascinating stuff.

<Adiethian> Thank you, lady. ::passes over a few silver pieces:: Let me know when I drink through that, please.

* Jelarthna finally picks up his ale and drinks some of it.

<Jelarthna> ::to Zoya:: What sort of stuff? It looked awfully complicated...

<Zoya> It is. Or I would be getting more sleep. It has to do with the animus of the ... ::devolves enthusiastically into rather cryptic arcane talk for a while::

* Cwalindia smiles at Zoya.

* Lisl shakes her head, coming out of her memories.

<Cwalindia> You must be Zoya - my sister's told me a lot about you. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I'm Cwalindia Nightstorm

<Jelarthna> ::blinks and looks confused::

<Lisl> What happened to Sealgair's swords?

* Jelarthna points to the blackened swords over the mantle.

<Zoya> ::blinks:: Nightstorm...? ::thinks:: I'm not sure I know any... Ah! Tyl! ::beams at Cwa:: A pleasure to meet you, my dear.

<Lisl> Yes, those swords. ::looks surprised:: You never knew whose they were?

<Michelle> Moon Dancer...Well Moon Dancer wasn't in the best of shape. And something in the Hall called out to Sealgair and brought him back here. He hung around for about a month not really seeming to know who he was until he finally bumped into Moon Dancer.

<Jelarthna> I didn't until he mysteriously showed up and died, no.

<Michelle> Then Sealgair did something that I really wish I could learn how to do and transported the Hall back to Moon Dancers homeworld which seemed to cure Moon Dancer.

<Michelle> Then the Hall popped back here, Sealgair was gone, the swords where like that, and Moon Dancer had forgotten the entire incident. I seriously considered throttling him.

* Jelarthna shakes his head and sips his ale.

<Lisl> ::chuckle:: And why didn't you? The little point-ear could take it, he's tough. ::chuckles:: So what happened to Moon Dancer? Does he still come around?

<Jelarthna> He hasn't been around for a while now.

<Michelle> Technically he's the owner, though none of us have seen him since we got back from saving Jelarthna's butt a few months ago.

* Jelarthna shudders for a moment, then smiles.

* Lisl makes a noise somewhere between choking, coughing, and laughing.

<Jelarthna> I still get twinges in my arm sometimes...

<Lisl> Moon Dancer owns the Hall? Oh, gods, I never would have seen it...

* Cwalindia looks around, eyes wide, trying to absorb everything.

<Jelarthna> It's kinda funny watching him do the books. ::grins::

<Lisl> And he said he'd never fit in in this world. Hah.

* Adiethian watches everyone and sips his stout.

<Michelle> Hmm...Some of the other old patrons are still around. Philister and Bai both knew Sealgair, and S'ayad'i used to work here. And I get the impression Yb's been a regular for a really long time.

<Lisl> Hah, the old crew! You mean Yb hasn't blown herself... himself... herself up yet either?

<Jelarthna> ::grin momentarily becomes a rictus::

<Jelarthna> No, not yet.

<Lisl> And good old Phil and Bai....ah, it's been ages. I wish I were better at letter-writing.

<Michelle> Himself? I knew Yb had problems, I didn't know they were THAT extensive.

<Cwalindia> Yb? My sister told me about her... she's a bit not right in the head, I understand...

<Jelarthna> ::to Cwal:: That's an understatement...

<Lisl> That was, I suppose, a long time ago, now. ::noticing Jel's expression:: My apologies, I didn't mean to offend...

<Zoya> ::laughs:: Yb? Yb is so *off* in the head, I'm not sure there's anything left in there to stabilize at all. ::sighs suddenly:: Poor girl.

<Jelarthna> ::to Lisl, shaking head:: No offense, she just scares me.

<Lisl> She scared us back then, too.

<Cwalindia> 'Gania says that Yb was very interested in getting closer to you, Master Jelarthna...

<Jelarthna> At least *I'm* not married to her, though. ::grins properly again::

<Michelle> OH! Jaret's still around as well. Or at least he was until a few months ago.

* Cwalindia puts a finger to her mouth for a moment, looking a bit embarrassed.

<Jelarthna> ::looks at Cwal:: she also wanted to get close to the floor sometimes.

<Cwalindia> I nearly forgot... I have a letter for you from 'Gania

<Lisl> Ah, well. ::taking a seat at the bar:: I suppose the good stuff's all gone, at least if Moon Dancer knew what was good for him...hmmm....might I have a mug of dwarven?

* Cwalindia rummages around in her little bag and pulls out a rather rumpled sheet of parchment... once it was folded neatly with a wax seal, but the seal is cracked, and the paper crumpled

<Michelle> A mug? ::blinks a few times::

<Jelarthna> ::looks at the parchment dubiously:: So, what does it say? ::winks::

<Cwalindia> I don't know... I didn't read it. ::blinks::

<Lisl> ::smiling:: Yes, a mug. Don't worry, I've a good tolerance for it.

<Lisl> You should see what i *used* to drink in this bar. ::smiling fondly:: Would there were some left...I'd toast Sealgair with it.

* Michelle pours Lisl of mug of dwarven spirits. "Since you said you worked here I'll believe you. At least you didn't ask for that Mule Kick stuff." Places the mug on the bar in front of Lisl.

<Jelarthna> ::takes the letter:: Thank you, Cwalindia, I'll read it later. ::puts it in his pouch::

<Lisl> ::taking the mug, pausing with it halfway to her lips:: Did you say...Mule Kick?

* Zoya tosses back some more ale, and eyes Jel's letter from Tyl with well-disguised curiosity::

<Jelarthna> ::shakes head:: I tried mule kick once. Wow!

* Michelle gets an exasperated expression, "What is it with old patrons and drinks that can peel paint off buildings a mile away?"

<Cwalindia> You can call me Quay, if you like... my friends do... ::blinks a few times::

<Lisl> ::looking down at her mug again, grinning, and raising it in a toast:: To old, OLD friends! ::taking a healthy swallow::

<Jelarthna> ::smiles:: Alright, Qual.

<Jelarthna> ::toasts with Lisl::

* Adiethian raises his mug with Lisl. "To old friends, both present and not."

* Cwalindia lifts her goblet to that remark, drinks quickly.

<Michelle> So Adiethian, any word from Jaret?

<Jelarthna> ::to Michelle:: I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with hanging around here too much?

<Zoya> ::looks up at lifts her mug to A's toast::

<Lisl> :: taking in Michelle and Jelarthna's expressions with a grin:: It's a matter of pride. Sealgair was at least half Scotch, you know. ::chuckling::

* Adiethian shakes his head. "I'm afraid not. I'll admit I'm a little nervous by now, but I can't track him down. It's as if he vanished."

<Jelarthna> What's a Scotch?

* Michelle pulls a bottle from beneath the bar. "This stuff. My father liked it, but I never managed to develop a taste for it."

<Jelarthna> ::listens with half an ear to Adiethian::

<Lisl> Well, Scotch is a foreign drink. Scottish is a nationality from a world far from here, as I understand it. Sealgair was generally half of each. ::grinning::

<Jelarthna> ::looks At Michelle, at the bottle, and then at Lisl:: Er. Okay.

<Zoya> ::eyes Cwa with some curiosity:: So, Cwalindia, what made you decide to come live with Tyl? From everything she says, she sounds like the black sheep of the family.

<Jelarthna> ::chuckles::

<Cwalindia> ::very quietly:: She's not the only one. I haven't found a good time to tell her about it yet. She keeps getting angry.

<Michelle> So what brought you back to Marsember Lisl?

<Zoya> ::raises an eyebrow:: What's that mean?

<Lisl> I decided I'd had enough of the woods for a time. Honestly, I don't know *what* made me think of this place, though. I have so many memories from here...I was sure it was long gone.

<Lisl> But if anything, the Hall drew me back here.

<Jelarthna> ::looks around:: It does tend to do that, doesn't it?

<Zoya> ::chuckles low under her breath:: The Hall is more alive now than it has ever been...

<Jelarthna> ::glances at Zoya:: Might be interesting if we could trace why...

<Michelle> A lot of the old patrons have said that. Course now that Erdian has a priesthood I figure the Hall's going to outlive us all.

<Zoya> ::blinks at Jel, eyes going a bit strange:: I know why.

<Cwalindia> I mean she's not the... that I'm... <deep breath> I have her talents. I'd been hiding it for decades, after I found out what happened to her.

<Jelarthna> ::grins:: The way my life goes sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised.

<Cwalindia> But I needed to use the ability to help someone, and they saw it. I had no place else to go.

<Zoya> ::spins to stare at Cwa:: You've mind-talent?

* Cwalindia nods, staring at the floor

<Lisl> Hmp. ::tracing circles on the bar with a forefinger, looking up at Michelle's comment:: WHAT? That old trickster's got a following, now?

<Michelle> Looks like Tyl found her first student.

<Jelarthna> ::glances at Zoya, then looks around at Cwal::

<Lisl> When did this happen??

<Michelle> Yep, Zoya there's his high priestess and apparently there's a pack of gnomes living in the basement of his Tower.

<Jelarthna> ::To Lisl:: When Zoya got into the Tower, and talked to him,

* Zoya frowns, and slides off her stool to walk over to Cwa. With one hand, she gently lifts Cwa's chin to look her in the face:: For true, child? It's not mage-talent?

<Michelle> About what...six months ago. Not that long after Sealgair died actually.

* Lisl darts a quick, sharp glance at Zoya, squinting a little.

<Jelarthna> She's Erdian's High Priestess.

<Cwalindia> ::blinks back a few tears:: it's not magery. I never need words, or components, or gestures... It's just like what Tyl has, and after what happened to Karinthiam, it's been outlawed in Evermeet.

<Lisl> Hmmm...I wouldn't put it past the two of them to be up to something...Sealgair's had enough problems with staying dead in the past. ::smiling distractedly to herself::

* Michelle blinks, "Problems STAYING dead?"

<Zoya> ::sighs softly:: It's nothing to be afraid of, or ashamed of. It's not that different from mage power. It's only... A strength.

<Jelarthna> Really? This one seemed pretty final. From what I heard from the people who were there for his last moments, it seemed like he was fulfilling some last things before he could rest.

<Lisl> ::under her breath:: Zoya...not the same Zoya as...? Hm. ::taking another swallow of spirits::

<Zoya> ::frowns:: Outlawed? Perhaps you should tell me what happened.

* Cwalindia finishes her wine and pours herself another glass. Takes a long drink.

<Jelarthna> ::to Cwal:: Zoya's right, Quay.

<Cwalindia> 'Gania's told you nothing of this?

<Jelarthna> No, not really.

<Zoya> No. She's... She doesn't like to talk about her past. On Evermeet, especially.

<Michelle> She might not know seeing how she's trying to start up a school for it.

<Lisl> Yes...my memory's not what it was, but I seem to remember him keeling over briefly after the demon attacked the Hall...and I could have *sworn* there was another time...hm. ::knuckling her brow in thought::

<Jelarthna> ::ear twitches at Lisl's comment, and he glances at her for a moment::

<Michelle> Okay Jelarthna, you're off the hook. You're no longer the only patron to bring evil hosts through the front door.

<Cwalindia> Karinthiam is our older brother... he was about twenty years older than 'Gania. I never met him. There's a painting of him in my parents' house, in the great hall.

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Michelle:: And such a dubious honor it was!

<Lisl> ::chuckling:: Ah, he didn't come through the front door when he manifested, though...I think he came through the roof. Or was that Smaug? ::shakes her head:: Memory's a queer thing.

<Cwalindia> My parents always say how wonderful he was, and how smart. He was already mastering the magus skills, at only forty years...

<Cwalindia> But in his picture, he has such cold eyes... I was always glad that he wasn't around...

<Jelarthna> Sometimes I wish I was around to have met all of you back then. then I hear some of these stories, and I reconsider.

<Jelarthna> ::grins::

<Lisl> When i think about it, though, that demon brought more good than harm. Certainly improved things for *me*...::admiring her arm as if looking at an invisible bracelet or some such::

<Zoya> ::frowns, rapidly converting elven years to human equivalents in her head, and nods at Cwa to continue::

<Jelarthna> ::looks at Lisl's arm:: What happened to your arm?

<Michelle> It had to be better than what happened to yours.

<Jelarthna> ::shudders::

<Cwalindia> Anyway, my parents say that 'Gania was jealous, angry, demon-like. That she hated him... but Prencilia was there, when it happened. She thinks it was an accident.

<Zoya> Who's Prencilia?

<Jelarthna> What was an accident?

<Lisl> ::grinning at Jelarthna, resting her arm back on the counter:: Heh...yeah, we were a pretty rowdy bunch. I don't know that you'd *want* to have known us...

<Cwalindia> Prencilia's my cousin, and she was there when Karinthiam died... was killed.

<Zoya> Tyl killed him. By accident.

<Jelarthna> ::shakes head:: Well, I know some of that bunch fairly well, and I'm proud to know each of them. ::smiles::

* Cwalindia nods.

<Lisl> ::to Jel, shrugging casually:: Nothing wrong with my arm. Just remembering. ::glancing up at the blackened, crossed swords again as she takes another drink::

<Cwalindia> Prencilia says he was hurting her, squeezing her arms, and she used the ability to push him away. They were on the balcony. He fell off. It was an accident.

<Michelle> Would this have anything to do with their helping you out when you got in trouble with the Dragons? ::Michelle grins to take the edge off the words.::

<Lisl> ::evil grin:: ah, well, Moon Dancer was always the puppy of the bunch.

<Jelarthna> ::looks at Cwal, somewhat shocked:: Is that why she was sent away?

<Zoya> ::sighs more loudly:: And the elves, in their Infinite Wisdom, have outlawed the mind-powers. What do they do with those they discover?

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Michelle:: That certainly helped, yes.

<Cwalindia> Um, not really. She wasn't sent away so much as she escaped. They were going to stone her to death.

<Jelarthna> Puppy?

* Michelle blinks, "If Moon Dancer was the puppy maybe it's better that we weren't around then."

<Jelarthna> ::shock, horror, etc.:: That's horrbile!

<Cwalindia> [so's your spelling]

<Lisl> [giggle]

<Jelarthna> [I know! :)]

<Lisl> ::wide grin:: Well, it's not said as HE'D agree with that assessment...

<Cwalindia> Nearly thirty young men and women have been executed for having the ability. We weren't back to Evermeet from the funeral when I was discovered.

<Lisl> Actually, I seem to remember a certain argument with him about that very thing....

<Cwalindia> I came back here because I didn't know where else to go. This is all I know that's not home.

<Jelarthna> ::to Lisl:: Really? That sounds like it would have been interesting. At least, as long as he wasn't mad. He's pretty scary when he's mad.

<Zoya> ::shudders:: Cwalindia - listen to me. Untrained mind power can do much worse than push someone off the balcony. It's important that we talk to Tyl'gainia about this, and that you get some training. You can... hurt yourself, and badly, without it.

<Lisl> ::glancing over at Qual, catching that last statement:: I'm sorry...but you said these people are being executed simply because of an extra talent?

* Cwalindia nods to Lisl.

<Jelarthna> Qual, you're welcome here. We'll protect you and help you learn how to use these abilities, but you must definitely learn to control them.

<Lisl> ::looking back at Jel with an impish grin:: Oh, he was *very* mad. But I think, at the time, I was more pissed off than he was. Arrogant young so-and-so, trying to tell me my business, and all.

<Cwalindia> <makes a bit of a face> I've been working on hiding it since I was about thirty or so...

* Michelle tilts her head and looks questioningly at Lisl.

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Lisl:: Wow. I managed to get him really angry at me once, and he came very close to tearing my head off.

* Lisl looks back over at Qual, a strange look in her eyes, the light glinting off them oddly and making them appear yellow for a moment. "If you need further assistance, I'd be honored to aid you as well."

<Jelarthna> ::to Qual:: There's nothing to be ashamed of, and no longer any reason to hide it. It's a talent, like any other. It's just different, and apparently misunderstood. Truest me, I understand misunderstood. ::grins::

<Jelarthna> ::glances at Lisl:: Are you...?

<Lisl> I've been fighting against something similar for most of my life....

<Lisl> ::looking back at Jel, the glint gone from her eyes:: Am I...?

* Cwalindia smiles tightly.

* Michelle touches her ear ring for a moment, then pours herself a mug of juice.

<Jelarthna> Like her, a psionic? ::has a bit of trouble getting his mouth around the word::

<Cwalindia> I know... I appreciate it. 'Gania said things were different here... and that's why I came... but she's spending a lot of time recently trying to figure out how to get me home without damaging my reputation, I haven't been able to tell her I can't go home.

<Zoya> ::looks down at Cwa:: When we leave here, I'll walk you back to Tyl's house, and we'll have a long talk with her.

<Michelle> Jelarthna, let it rest. Everyone here has secrets they'd rather not discuss, and we accept that fact because we know that the secrets will come out if any of ever truly NEED to know.

* Adiethian has another hefty swallow of his stout.

<Lisl> Heh. No, not that. Let's just say it takes all kinds of people to make up the world, and there're a lot of them who don't like those who are different.

<Jelarthna> ::shoots a grin at Michelle, then turns back to Lisl:: I apologize. I'm intensely curious by nature.

<Lisl> It's alright. As long as you don't kick about the trouble that curiosity might bring you.

* Lisl grins at Jel, that strange light back in her eyes for a fleeting moment before it's gone again.

<Zoya> ::shoots a sidelong look at Jel:: You're needing more homework to keep your busy mind occupied?

<Jelarthna> Um... That's one of my failings, actually.

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Zoya:: That's okay!

<Michelle> Which is why he needs all of us to bail him out.

* Jelarthna looks sheepish.

* Lisl chuckles.

<Lisl> Well, I've been there often enough myself, I can certainly understand it.

<Cwalindia> Do you think she's going to be angry with me?

<Lisl> ::shakes her head:: Oh, when I was younger....I could never leave well enough alone. Still can't, sometimes. ::glancing at Qual::

<Jelarthna> Then hopefully you won't tease me about it as much as some people!

<Michelle> Actually, I'm looking forward to having friends to bail me out. Assuming a stay here long enough to get into trouble.

<Lisl> Ah, I never promised *that*!

<Jelarthna> ::to Qual:: Don't worry, she won't be.

<Zoya> No, I don't think so. She may be worried for you, but there's nothing to be angry about.

<Jelarthna> Ugh! ::chuckles::

<Jelarthna> ::to Michelle:: If you're lucky, I'll keep sucking all the trouble to me, and you can just continue to make fun of me. ::winks::

<Lisl> ::tipping her head back and draining her mug in one several long swallows, seeming none the worse for a tankard-full of dwarven spirits::

<Cwalindia> Are there many Psionics here? ::twitches her mouth:: I hate being all by myself.

<Michelle> Maybe that's what I'm here for? ::Michelle grins::

<Jelarthna> Er... I don't know. I've only met a couple, other than monsters.

<Lisl> Don't worry, lad, this Hall has a reputation of attracting strange folk...I doubt you'd be swimming alone in hot water for long.

<Zoya> ::smirks a bit:: I wouldn't say there are *many*, no. But I don't think you'll have to be by yourself. Unfortunately, many of them get falsely classified as mages... But I do believe there are some out there.

<Jelarthna> ::smiles:: That's something I finally realized, is that I'm certainly not alone here.

<Lisl> ::frowning in thought:: S'ayad'i was, as I remember... And Z...::coughs::

<Zoya> [was what? strange folk?] ;)

<Lisl> [that too! psi, silly!!!]

<Lisl> [wasn't she?]

<Zoya> [S'ay? s'ay was never psi. Or zoya either!]

<Cwalindia> [Seyanki was... and Lhynnae and Khathim...]

<Lisl> [oh. *blush* color me confuzzled.]

<Jelarthna> [breaks out the markers]

<Zoya> [It's okay. It's been a while. You forget things. We forgive you.]

<Lisl> [aha! See, it *was* an S-name!]

<Lisl> [yeah, I'm old. I'm having a senior moment. GRIN]

<Jelarthna> [lol]

Zoya finishes off her ale, and turns to set the mug on the bar.

<Lisl> At least, you're not the first, Qual.

<Jelarthna> And probably not the last...

* Lisl peers into her empty mug.

* Michelle blinks as she suddenly remembers something, "Lisl, did you come by a few days ago and try to let yourself into the Hall?"

<Lisl> Ahem...ummm...did I hear you say something before about...Mule Kick? ::hopeful gleam::

* Michelle smiles and shakes her head, "I suppose you drink that by the mug as well?"

<Lisl> ::frowning:: Let myself in? No, it's been ages since I've had keys...and I know better than to test the wards, even if they *are* a bit older than they were.

<Jelarthna> ::shakes his head:: The only people I've seen drink that without getting hurt and Dancer and Drach.

<Lisl> ::puppy-dog look:: Only if I can get it! Pleeeeeease?

<Lisl> I promise not to spill my burned guts on your nice clean floor! ::fiendish grin::

<Michelle> Well someone tried. Fortunately for them they seem to have stopped when they stumbled upon the newer wards Moon Dancer put up before he left. I only ask because S'ayad'i still had a key last time I saw her.

<Jelarthna> That doesn't sound good.

* Cwalindia grins at Lisl.

* Michelle CAREFULLY pours Lisl a mug of Mule Kick, the mug sweating profusely as it's set on the bar with it's explosive contents.

<Lisl> Hmm...I can't imagine any locals being foolish enough to try to break in here...

<Cwalindia> 'Gania said I something interesting to learn here... I'm still not sure I understand that...

<Lisl> ::clapping her hands in happiness as she notices the mug's reaction:: They *are* still animated! I'd wondered if it had worn off...

<Lisl> [heh...you all screwed up Elga'ara often enough. ^_^ :P ]

<Jelarthna> There are plenty of interesting things to learn among a bunch like this.

<Michelle> I hope the animation never wears off. I'd never have learned the taps if it were for them.

<Cwalindia> ::grins up at Jelarthna:: You're the one who liked my candy, aren't you?

<Jelarthna> Very much! Would you like a piece? I'm savoring it slowly to make it last.

<Cwalindia> ::grins:: No, that's all right. I made it. I'm very familiar with it. But 'Gania has a good kitchen. I could make you some more.

<Jelarthna> Really? I won't work so hard to hoard, then. It's excellent work.

<Lisl> Now this is good enough for a *proper* toast. ::raising her mug of Mule-Kick...not noticing as a drop slides down the side and burns a hole in her glove, she turns to the blackened, crossed swords:: Sealgair, it was my honor to know you. Here's to you. Slainte.

<Cwalindia> ::sips her wine:: I'm glad you like it. "Gania said she gave it to someone special...

<Jelarthna> Slainte ::holds up his mug, and manages to get the word mostly right::

<Zoya> ::raises an eyebrow at Cwa's comment, but says nothing::

Lisl takes a swig, closing her eyes as an expression of bliss crosses her features. When she opens them again, the irises are bright yellow, but fade as she turns back to the bar.

<Jelarthna> ::drink::

<Michelle> ::A yowling arises from outside the bar.::

<Michelle> What the Hell is going on out there?

<Jelarthna> ::smiles at Qual:: I'm glad she thinks I'm special, then. It's amazing how quickly I've managed to make good friends here.

<Jelarthna> What was that?

<Lisl> ::perks up an alert ear::

* Cwalindia whirls around on her stool.

<Cwalindia> What is that sound?

<Michelle> I'll be back in a moment. ::Michelle heads out the door to see what the commotion is.::

<Zoya> ::tips her head, listening:: Sounds like dogs in the street.

<Lisl> ::sly grin at Jel:: have difficulty making friends among the common folk, do you?

<Jelarthna> ::keeping an eye on Michelle:: Yeah, I tend to be fairly misunderstood, myself.

<Cwalindia> 'Gania told me about you - said you were the most interesting combination of hope and trouble she's ever met.

<Lisl> Dogs? ::raising an eyebrow, nostrils flaring a little::

<Jelarthna> I can't understand why...

<Michelle> [Jel's keeping an eye on her through the walls.]

<Lisl> ::chuckle:: I can, and I've barely met you.

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Qual:: An interesting description.

<Jelarthna> Gee, thanks.

<Lisl> [see, he knew that xray vision would come in handy!]

<Jelarthna> [go go gadget x-ray vision!]

<Michelle> [Michelle's going to have to pound him when she gets back.]

<Cwalindia> [roflastc]

<Michelle> [???]

<Adiethian> [rolling on the floor laughing and scaring the cat]

* Michelle wanders back in shaking her head and heads back behind the bar.

<Lisl> ::shakes her head, muttering under her breath:: Stupid cats...

<Jelarthna> What was it, Michelle?

<Michelle> Just the neighborhood cats joining in Lisl's toast to Sealgair.

<Jelarthna> Oh, okay.

<Jelarthna> ::glances at Lisl curiously::

* Cwalindia gets up and goes towards the back.

<Cwalindia> I love cats...

<Zoya> ::sighs:: Cats, dogs... Whatever... ::muttering to herself::

<Lisl> ::chuckling, says quietly:: I prefer venison, m'self...

* Cwalindia goes outside

<Jelarthna> The gnomes have some interesting pets down there.

<Cwalindia> "here kitty... here kitty kitty

<Jelarthna> Several of them are mechanical, which is really strange sometimes.

* Cwalindia comes back inside, cuddling a tiny orange kitten.

<Cwalindia> Kawaii...

<Jelarthna> Excuse me?

<Lisl> I remember Yb keeping a mug as a pet for awhile...and...::glances oddly again at Zoya: You know, I could swear I've known you before...you look so much like someone I knew.

<Cwalindia> It's cute!

<Jelarthna> That poor mug! ::tinge of horror in voice::

<Zoya> ::looks Lisl full in the face for the first time, with a long, examining stare:: Hmm. It's possible... Travel much?

<Michelle> [Actually, it was Lini who had the pet mug, but no one here would know that. :) ]

<Lisl> [Lini had one, but Yb had one, too]

<Lisl> [it was scared of her]

<Michelle> [I thought all the mugs were scared of Yb. :) ]

<Jelarthna> [lol]

* Cwalindia pets her kitten.

<Zoya> ::smiles at Cwa and the kitten::

<Lisl> ::laughs at Zoya's question:: Yes, a great deal, actually.

<Cwalindia> Do you think 'Gania would let me keep her?

<Jelarthna> It's a big house...

<Zoya> ::rather quietly:: Ever 'Jam? Travel across worlds?

* Michelle frowns, "I'm not sure Qual. You might want to try for some other pet."

<Zoya> ::considers Cwa's kitten:: It will horrify the butler. I'm sure she'll take to it immediately. ::grins::

<Jelarthna> ::laughs::

<Lisl> Not in the classic sense, but yes, I've done some planes travel. Heh... so has this bar, for that matter. ::gesturing at her surroundings::

<Cwalindia> Who, Jacques? He's really nice...

<Jelarthna> Zoya means spelljamming, not planar travel.

<Zoya> ::sighs:: You look familiar to me, too. If I could just put some *surroundings* on it...

<Cwalindia> ::to Michelle:: why not?

<Jelarthna> At some point we're going to go out there, and I can't wait! ::grins::

<Zoya> ::looks hard at Jel:: And *that* is why we're waiting.

<Michelle> Well for one thing, that cat already has a home it likes. For another I think Tyl's going to need some time to get used to one new mind in the house. I wouldn't burden her with any others.

<Lisl> ::squinting at Zoya:: Your hair...was it always that color? All of it?

<Jelarthna> It used to be more purple than white.

<Lisl> [it just connected...cat...cat...cat...Lisl squirms a little]

<Cwalindia> ::makes a face:: She has that ferret thingy...

<Jelarthna> ::grins at Zoya::

<Michelle> And how long has she had her ferret?

<Zoya> ::laughs:: No. ::she pulls out a braided lock of hair from behind her ear which is a deep purple:: For most of my travels, it's been this color.

<Lisl> Ha! I thought so. You're either the Zoya I knew, or a close twin, then...tho' you seem *much* calmer now. You were a wild mage once, weren't you?

<Cwalindia> I don't know... several years, I think.

<Jelarthna> Er... I thought you still were?

<Michelle> Exactly. Give her some time to get used to YOU. Then ask about a pet.

<Zoya> ::grins:: Still am. Never had a twin. I'm the only Zoya I know.

<Zoya> Now, if only I could figure out who *you* were...

<Lisl> ::smiling:: Then I suppose you're the only Zoya I'd know, also.

<Zoya> ::to Michelle:: The kitten seems calm enough. I think Tyl will be okay with it - the girl needs an anchor, actually.

* Lisl sets her mug aside for a moment, stands, and bows to Zoya with a flourish.

* Adiethian finishes off his stout. "I had best be going. Good evening, everyone." He heads for the door.

* Cwalindia sulks and pets the kitten...

<Lisl> Lisl Ferinsdottir, at your service.

<Jelarthna> Good evening.

<Zoya> ::frowning:: That's so familiar! It will come to me... You were here before, yes? Do you know Erdian's Tower? On the outskirts of town to the north?

* Michelle shrugs, "The only real way to settle it is to ask Tyl, but I really think Qual's going to be all Tyl can deal with for a while. After all, she's spent a lot of her life alone.

<Jelarthna> ::watches after Adiethian with a thoughtful look::

* Michelle blinks, "Oh my, I lost track of time. Last call everyone."

<Lisl> Know Erdian's Tower? I knew Erdian. Back when he was mortal...mostly, at least.

<Lisl> ::looks up at Michelle's last comment and tucks into her Mule Kick again, determined not to waste it::

* Jelarthna finishes his ale.

<Zoya> ::excitedly to Lisl:: Oh, then I *must* talk with you! Please. I promised to talk to this girl's guardian with her, but if you will go to the Tower and say you came from me, the gates will open for you, and I don't think I'll be long...

<Lisl> There're some other things about me that you might find more...memorable, but they're not for everyone's eyes.

<Jelarthna> ::watches Lisl finish her drink:: That's one heck of a constitution you've got there.

<Michelle> That's for sure.

<Jelarthna> I'll walk Qual home, Zoya.

<Jelarthna> I want to talk with Tyl about a couple of things anyway.

<Lisl> I'd be delighted. ::rueful smile:: My apartment's still here for me, my friends made sure of that, but it's not in the cleanest of conditions.

<Zoya> I need to talk to Tyl about the mind-powers, Jelarthna. But you're welcome to join us.

<Zoya> ::to Lisl:: Then you are welcome to stay with me at the Tower until your place can be put to rights.

<Jelarthna> Oh, okay.

* Zoya scoops up her book.

<Cwalindia> ::grins:: and I'm sure "Gania wouldn't mind seeing you anyway ::blush::

<Lisl> Many thanks, Zoya. I look forward to it.

<Zoya> Are we all ready? I'll see you in an hour or two, Lisl. One of the gnomes will make you comfortable, I'm sure.

* Lisl takes several more long pulls from her tankard.

<Jelarthna> ::looks curiously at Qual::

<Michelle> Need a refill on that before going to meet the gnomes?

<Zoya> Ready, Cwa? Jelarthna?

* Jelarthna shrugs and pulls a smaller pouch out of the one at his belt, and places it on the counter.

<Lisl> ::chuckles:: I'm sure. ::finishes her drink, and has a quick thought:: How do you feel about venison? You're not a vegetarian, are you?

* Cwalindia scoops up her kitten...

<Cwalindia> sure thing...

* Cwalindia drops a silver coin on the bar

<Zoya> ::blinks at Lisl:: No. Just ask for what you need.

<Jelarthna> Sure am! ::grins::

* Lisl chuckles...no thanks, Michelle.

<Zoya> Come on, then. ::Zoya leads the way out of the Hall.::

<Lisl> Well enough, then. I hate appearing empty-handed as a guest at someone's door...I'll bring dinner. ::smiles::

<Lisl> ::digs a coin from her pouch, and drops it on the counter:: My thanks for a wonderful evening.

<Jelarthna> It was nice to meet you, Lisl. Good night, Michelle! ::follows Zoya and Qual outside::

* Michelle deposits the money in the strong box, then shoos the dishes off into the kitchen and puts away the various bottles. She then dims the lamps and locks the doors.

<Michelle> Hmm...Adam should be able to handle this. ::Michelle wanders into the kitchen.::
