The Hall is a squat, two story building, built of brick, with a
timber and plaster upper story. It has a small stable off to the
side, which is very rarely used, and no other out buildings. The main
building itself, while originally constructed to face the street, now
faces sideways, so that the main entrance is in the side alley. This
also means that the side door now functions as the back door, and the
back door faces into the wall of the building next door.
The common room is rather spacious. Along the left hand wall, as you
enter, is the bar itself, stretching down almost the whole length of
the room. Behind it is an amazing array of taps, from which almost
any beverage can be served. Behind the bar there is a single door --
which leads to the kitchen -- and the rack holding the mugs and
glasses the drinks are served in.
On the wall opposite the bar is a long, low hearth. Twin blackened and
corroded long swords hang above the fireplace. Stairs opposite the
front doors lead up to the bedrooms and a door on the same wall leads
to the back room and the manager's office. Inside that office is
another door, boarded up.
The common room is decorated with dark wood paneling and finely
finishes, dark wood furnishings. The bar stools have burgundy seat
cushions as do the couple of cushioned chairs arranged by the hearth.
The Hall serves all drinks indigenous to the Realms, importing them at
great cost through the Master Trader, Lord Carrecht. The Hall also
offers a few drinks unique to itself: mule-kick (an incredibly potent
Kalthean brew), Mist of the Peaks (a green, fizzy drink with
rejuvenating qualities), and a wide variety of other-worldly drinks,
catering to the other-worldly Patrons.
The Hall also serves food, from the mysteriously unmanned kitchen, and
boasts a wide variety of nightly entertainments, from songs and epic
poems from the bards among the patronage to demonstrations of magic and
swordplay. Overall, an exciting nightly experience.
The Meade Hall is home to its current proprietor, Moon Dancer. He
occupies the larger suite upstairs, and has built a small workshop
behind the kitchen where he does some repair work and general
maintenance when necessary. He can make the workshop available to
patrons who spend the night, and he often converts it to a small area
for him to exercise and practice his hand-to-hand fighting.
The Hall is open evenings in Marsember, and patrons are free to visit
even when players cannot. Feel free to send mail to the Hallmasters
letting them know when your character plans to visit the Hall.
