Sirach is from Mulhorand. A small kingdom a few miles east of the Eastern Shaar. Mulhorand was founded in -2135 by the God, Re. It is considered an Old Empire, and has been at war for thousands of years. Sirach was born around -1480. He was talented in the art of magic, and enrolled in the mage schools in Skuld, a city in Mulhorand, also known as "The City of Shadows". At age 50, he full Mage, and was very powerful. He later became a healer, and learned the power of Alchemy. At 70, he was chosen by Anhor, the Father of the Gods in Mulhorand, to become a Master of Mysteries. These were powerful mages, who were chosen by the Gods to find the Lost Lore, and keep the Known Lore. They are known as healers, teachers, and wise men. The Masters of Mysteries were granted, by Anhor, to read the Book of the Living, and the Book of the Dead. When read together, the reader gains a form of immortality. He/she will not die of natural causes, but can be killed. He became younger physically and mentally to continue his work. Sirach has lived for around 2400 years, and has seen a great deal of history. The Masters of Mysteries no longer exist in mighty Mulhorand, and are all forgotten. He is the last of them, and is now seeking the one object that will complete his task as a Master of Mysteries. For 2000 years he has been searching for a book, enchanted by the first wizards on Toril, a complete history of Toril. The Tome of Ages Past is a legendary book that records everything, and knows everything. The book has recorded the dawn of Toril and will keep recording till either itself is destroyed, or Toril is destroyed. The book is about 40 cm long, and 30 cm wide. It holds hundreds of pages that describe how to release the book's secrets. Sirach's personality is care free. He has a task to accomplish, but he knows that he has lots of time and he can wait another thousand years or so. He has been all over Toril, and has heard rumors of the book's location, but has never found it. Sirach is a wizard that has no real limit on what he can do. He can control the basic elements, fire, water, wind, lightening, earth, and can also use illusion, telekinesis, and necromancy, and healing. He is very humble, and never uses his powers unless he absolutely must. He prefers peace over policing. Sirach owns a white horse named "Merlin". The horse was raised by the wood elves of Cormanthor, and given to him as a gift. Merlin is enchanted, and is never tied up. Sirach simply calls and the horse comes. Sirach and Merlin are best of friends, and always will be. |
