Physical Description: Rhys is a somewhat older man, in his early 50s, perhaps. He has "filled out" in his later years, but appears to be comfortable with his paunch. He has a neatly-trimmed beard and mustache which hearkens back to an older fashion than the present. He usually dresses in plain brown pants and a grey shirt. He is unabashedly going bald on the top of his head, and the hair surrounding the bald spot is usually neatly in place, but it is not unheard of for him to be slightly disheveled. He usually carries a small knife, but this is definitely more suited to its regular duties as a table utensil than as any sort of defensive (let alone offensive) implement. Personal History: Rhys is a relative newcomer to Marsember. He arrived from what he smilingly refers to as "Here and there. More there than here." He promptly registered himself with the War Wizards upon arrival. Not much is said of his initial interview, but local buzz is that he has been called in to aid the city in times of need, when the local War Wizards were in need of magical aid. Exactly what payment, if any, he receives from such service is unknown. He keeps himself in moderate means, renting a small room at the Old Oak Inn and Tavern, and doesn't seem prone to any extravagances. Since then he hasn't taken a regular occupation, although the War Wizards would most likely gratefully accept him as a full-time member of their ranks. Instead, he seems to busy himself with small doings about the town, such as visiting the tenders of small carts and stalls throughout the city and playing marbles with children on streetcorners. Role-playing Notes: Genial and grandfatherly, Rhys has few if any real enemies in Marsember. He seems to rely on his general financial state to protect him from muggings or robberies rather than any sort of physical precaution. It appears to have worked thus far for him, at least. He does usually manage to have some sort of gift for children on him, from rice candy for most every day, to a painstakingly carved wooden toy on birthdays. |
