Description: Maeli is an old human woman. (If you had to guess her age, you'd think she was at least 90.) Her eyes are an unremarkable blue, and whatever color her hair once was, it's snow-white now. She's not especially short, but she is bent slightly with age, and she frequently carries a cane, especially in cold and rainy weather. History: Maeli's second-oldest brother was an adventurer, and Maeli wanted to be one as well but was convinced that it would be dreadfully improper for her to do so. So she married a respectable tailor and became a goodwife instead. When she married, she was a remarkable seamstress. By the time her first child was half-grown, Maeli was one of the best seamstresses in Marsember and a well-known midwife. By the time her first grandchild was born, she was one of the most respected people in her neighborhood, and was always ready with advice for the young and treats for the even younger. She has never once in her life so much as left the walls of the city, but neither has she forgotten the dreams of the child she once was. Her husband died about a year ago, and after a few months of mourning, Maeli decided that, having lived an entire life according to what others thought "proper", she could afford to become an "eccentric old woman". She had been hearing for years about the antics of the patrons of the Meade Hall, and decided rather suddenly one evening to stop in. |
