Vital Statistics

Height:: 5' 2" Weight: : 120 lbs.
Sex: Female Hair / Eye Color: Silver/ Grey

Description:

Lisl doesn’t seem to have aged a day since she first appeared in the Hall (no doubt thanks to her elven heritage); she looks perhaps 23 human years old. If she has changed at all, it’s only that she is perhaps a bit trimmer for her recent time in the wilds. Lisl’s appearance is classic half-elf: she has the silver hair, pointed ears, and diminutive stature of a grey elf, but the sturdier build and square, coarse-boned face of a human. Her eyes, also, are the grey of stormy weather instead of elven gold (some have sworn that Lisl’s irises turn yellow when she is in an impish mood or gripped by some strong emotion, but it was probably just the light). Though she moves with beautifully fluid grace, she shows little elven refinement, and only the charitable would call her pretty.

Lisl is in top athletic condition; her body reflects the lean, sinewy shape of a distance runner rather than a heavy fighter’s bulky muscle, but she has quite a grip and is capable of surprising feats of strength. She’s very quick; in the past, she’s been known to catch dropped glassware before it hits the floor. She keeps her fine hair cropped off fairly short, as many warriors do. The clothing she wears also bespeaks a simple but active lifestyle, and indeed, on many nights it bears the scent of the wilderness. She wears mostly plain leathers and natural fabrics, dressing for serviceability and comfort more than fashion. She sports almost no jewelry, and the small, silver-and-blue cloak pin on her breast as well as the carefully worked bronze buckle on her belt bear the aura of strong warding magics. Her most ostentatious article of clothing seems to be a hunting trophy: a fine, black-tipped grey wolf pelt, generally worn over a shoulder.

Oddly enough, some other standard earmarks of a veteran adventurer are missing: even in the most dangerous parts of town, Lisl carries nothing more than a dagger (set for left-handed draw, though she is predominantly right-handed). Also, she bears no scars (with the exception of a nasty puncture mark on her left shoulder); she’s either very lucky, very good, or knows an excellent chiurgeon. Still, there is an air about her that suggests she would be a dangerous opponent to cross. Though she has a bewildering fondness for the explosively potent brew known as mulekick, few have ever seen her betray the usual effects of alcohol. She seems to possess remarkable self-control, but her anger is said to be something terrible to witness.

History:

Lisl is no stranger to the Meade Hall; she once worked here as a bartender in Sealgair’s time. She returned to her old haunts in Marsember one evening out of the blue after an extended leave. Although it’s said she originally resigned her position at the Hall to marry a former Patron known as Jean-Pierre, that marriage never took place (though they seem to have parted as good friends). Rumor has much to say of her absence: that she’s been planes-travelling, that she went into seclusion in the northern wilderness for seven years to perfect her skills, that she was fulfilling a geas to a god in return for the removal of an old and horrible curse.

No one seems to know exactly what Lisl did during her seven-year absence, but the journeying must have gone well indeed. A smile lingers around her once-haunted almond eyes now, and old friends will say that she seems to laugh more readily than in the past. She is still quite reserved and downright wary around strangers, but she’s become more outgoing with friends and other Patrons (and even impish on occasion). Though she obviously enjoys time spent with friends at the Hall, she is still a somewhat private person. She is impatient with flirtation, and will generally stonewall anyone who tries to hit on her.

She likes to reminisce, but old habits die hard: she keeps her own secrets about her past. Actually, very little is known of her family and earlier history (some of the older Patrons may know, but they’re not telling), other than the fact that her mother, an elven mage named Aldis, lives a few days’ travel north of town. Lisl has obviously traveled a great deal, for she has odd and far-flung acquaintances and some knowledge that could only have been acquired in distant lands.

Lisl keeps rather spacious apartments in town off the Street of Steel. Her former roommate, Lini’leah (an old Patron whom Lisl claims as a cousin), was a drow swordswoman of great skill and short temper, and rumor says that Lisl keeps a fierce guard-dog on premises-- local thieves avoid the place like the plague.
