Jelarthna is an attractive, graceful elf of 107 years. His movements are usually smooth and considered, with little wasted motion in performing most tasks. Occasionally he shows hints of clumsiness, but they're brief and hard to spot. His wears his hair almost to shoulder length, usually free, but sometimes tied back with a ribbon. He has a light, athletic build, and his musculature is well defined.

He has two typical modes of dress. Around town, and in non-dangerous situations, he wears well-tailored clothes of good material, but not very fancy. Perhaps the sort of clothes one would find lower tier courtiers wearing, but generally of better make. He doesn't keep up well with fashion, however, and is usually outfitted in something at least a year out of season. He has been known on occasion to wear a fine suit of elven chain under such clothes if he's nervous. His other mode of dress is more rugged. He always wears his elven chain under these clothes. They consist of durable and well-worn materials in earth browns and greens. In either mode of dress, he commonly wears a hat of some sort, usually something Three-Musketeersish, even with the feather.

Jelarthna was born on the main continent to a good family. He was a little spoiled for many years, but there was one thing that always came up among the upper class elves, Evermeet. There were some incidents in his young life that prompted him to learn magic and fighting. He was something of clumsy child, and showed less talent than many of the other students, but he put everything into his training, and slowly began to surpass his peers.

His determination was recognized by a travelling Bladesinger of some repute, who decided to take and train him. It was a long, grueling process, but he finally was able to go off on his own. Since then, he has traveled much of Faerun, often stumbling into trouble and somehow getting out. He's made many friends along the way, and developed a fierce loyalty, and strengthened his sense of honor, especially when it comes to paying off debts. Along the way, he developed something of a fear of being imprisoned, and as it was almost never an issue for a do-gooder elf, it didn't come up much. However, he entered something of a rut, and became somewhat morose and brooding.

It was a few years ago that he first came across the Meade Hall, and made several friends there. A couple of tactless moves on his part and his fear of confinement caused a problem with the Purple Dragons, but Sealgair (then proprietor of the Hall) helped him out of that situation. During his time there, he finally recognized the need for a change and left the area to wander around and try to lighten up.

Now he's back and a bit confused, but he's gotten used to being around humans and how quickly things change when they're involved. Somewhere in his travels he managed to lighten up, his sense of humor has improved immensely, and his whole outlook has gotten much more positive. Something he doesn't discuss much, but that he makes no secret of is that he has done a significant amount of planar travel in the past few years, and has seen a lot of weird things. But it's clear that this elf isn't ready to settle down yet.
