Vital Statistics
A human male, about 28 years old. Jaret usually wears a white ruffled shirt, a silk jacket, breeches of a matching color, as well as stockings. He wears a pair of high leather boots that come to just below his knees, and a set of worn leather gloves are usually tucked at his waist. Carried in a belt around his waist, in scabbards with silver and gold stitching, he wears a matching rapier and main-gauche. Both are elaborately peace-knotted, almost braided, into their sheaths. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with an extravagant plume caught in the band. In addition, on wet or chilly days, he dons a cape that falls a little past his waist. His eyes seem to fairly glitter when he is excited. His hair is usually pulled back into a queue that comes to a few inches past his shoulders. A quite distinguished and identifiable character. Jaret was born to a very minor noble family on a different world. His father had no power within the kingdom, but held himself to the noblesse oblige code of the aristocrats. Jaret was raised as a nobleman's son, and taught how to hold a rapier as soon as he was old enough to grip it properly. He has no brothers or sisters, and his mother died in her sleep when he was 8. Jaret and his father practiced fencing constantly. When Jaret was older, he learned the arts of writing and reciting poetry, dancing, singing, as well as how to carry a conversation. In his later teens, he was struck with a chronic case of wanderlust, and departed his home to see the world around him. Some disagreement with a wizard that Jaret has ceased to elaborate on, saying the tale has already been told far too many times, caused him to end up in the Realms, with no way of getting home. He was near the city of Marsember, and entered the city. Since that time Jaret has fallen in love many, many time with scores of beautiful women that frequent the City of Spices. He lives in a villa outside the city walls, and makes his living teaching pupils the basics of fencing, and occasionally adventuring for fun and profit. He has gained a reputation as a dazzling duelist of near-insurmountable skills. Jaret is an outgoing, charismatic person who is still somewhat confused why others see his actions as more than common courtesy. He has a fondness for Arabellen Red in modest quantities. He is gallant, noble, courteous, flirting, merry, and honorable. He does not appreciate short people jokes, and will usually let the amateur jester know that such comments might best be taken elsewhere. He is willing to defend anyone's honor who he feels might not be able to adequately defend it themselves. As a result of his upbringing that he is overcoming with near glacial slowness, he often underestimates women's abilities as fighters, mages, or nearly any other profession. |
