Ilarion, sometimes called Roni by friends, is the second son of a human woman, Queen of Cantrev Westenland, on Moray Island, part of the Moonshae Island Kingdoms. His mother, Siabeth, couldn't be bothered with a husband, and entertained many lovers. She has six children, none of whom have the same father. Ilarion ran away from home at the age of fourteen. He lived in Waterdeep for many years and attended the wizard school there, but was found to lack magical talents. He took to traveling in his mid-twenties, enjoying travel and meeting new people. Last year, hearing about Tyl'gainia's school in Marsember, he decided to see if he had a different talent, other than magical. It turns out he did, and he enrolled as a student there. In his spare time, he writes romantic novels under the pen name Orielle Manchester. He has a good sized audience in the Cormyr area. The most famous, Court of the Baroness, is a loosely based history of his mother and her lovers. Another famous novel, Escape of the Lady, is loosely based on the story of Lady Donovan, who was executed about six years ago for arranging the death of her husband. He has actually accumlated a great deal of profits from his writings, and is one of the only students at Tyl's school who pays his entire tuition. |
