Vital Statistics
Aeryn is a half elf, stockier than a true elf and not as tall, but still wiry in build. Around Marsember, he usually wears hard-worn and loose clothes of a dusty black color, covered with a hooded black cloak; in forest terrain his elven training tends to lead him to garb that blends in better. Aeryn tends to be quite standoffish with strangers, although he does warm up to people over time. He's the kind of person you'll probably find at a corner table drinking meade (ale's too bitter for his tastes) by himself, rather than in the thick of things, and probably won't say anything at all to a stranger. Once friendly with someone, Aeryn will defend them-be it with words or blade-regardless of law, right, or numbers. A ranger by training, he tends to prefer his long sword and swordbreaker over the short bow he also carries. Being trained by elves who were for the most part more agile than he was, Aeryn knows little of brute-strength techniques but much of evasion and redirection.
HistoryAeryn was born of predictable circumstances when a band of bandits raided the small woods village his mother called home. His appearance -- especially his hair color, but also his stockier appearance-made him outcast among his own age group (if a half-elf can be said to share an age group with true elves) as a child, and he grew up alone. |
